Rigid Heddle looms are also known as a Knitter’s loom and many knitters want to give weaving a try. In this class, you will learn the basics of warping a rigid heddle loom using the direct warping method, weaving on a loom, and fringe techniques. The first project will be a scarf. Students will warp their loom in class and continue weaving in class and at home.
Class Dates: Session 1 - Wednesday January 29 : 12p-3p Session 2 - Wednesday February 26 : 12p-3p
Teacher: Marti Sievert Cost: $50 class fee, $25 +tax (weekly loom rental fee if needed) + yarn & notions.
Supplies:
Loom: 1 week rental available from Cream City Yarn for an additional fee (see above) Yarn: Dk weight yarn – 200-300 grams total depending on length of finished scarf. *you will need approx 280 yds for warp and 180 yds for weft Notions: Small scissors, measuring tape, and tapestry needle.
