Rigid Heddle looms are also known as a Knitter’s loom and many knitters want to give weaving a try. In this class, you will learn the basics of warping a rigid heddle loom using the direct warping method, weaving on a loom, and fringe techniques. The ﬁrst project will be a scarf. Students will warp their loom in class and continue weaving in class and at home.

Class Dates: Session 1 - Wednesday January 29 : 12p-3p Session 2 - Wednesday February 26 : 12p-3p

Teacher: Marti Sievert Cost: $50 class fee, $25 +tax (weekly loom rental fee if needed) + yarn & notions.

Supplies:

Loom: 1 week rental available from Cream City Yarn for an additional fee (see above) Yarn: Dk weight yarn – 200-300 grams total depending on length of ﬁnished scarf. *you will need approx 280 yds for warp and 180 yds for weft Notions: Small scissors, measuring tape, and tapestry needle.

This class is designed to be used with the Schacht 15” Cricket Ridid Heddle Loom. Ashford Rigid Heddle loom with maximum width of 24” is an acceptable substitute. If you bring your own loom, you must have all accessories including
