Greater Chennai Corporation has called for the Expression of Interest from reputed agencies for providing Biodegradable solid waste processing services for onsite home composting and also for providing solid waste recycling services to the bulk waste generators generating more than 100 Kg per day and to residential welfare associations/ individual residence/ gated communities/ institutions/ restaurant/ hotels who require these services. 30 Nos of EOIs were received from

various firms.

All EoIs were scrutinized by Greater Chennai Corporation and the following firms are authorised to facilitate the waste generators for Biodegradable solid waste processing and solid waste recycling. These firms are valid for one year from the date of authorisation.

All bulk waste generators generating more than 100 Kg per day and residential welfare associations/ individual residence/ gated communities/ institutions/ restaurant/ hotels who require these services may make use of this service providers to process the waste at their premises itself outside and also may utilize the solid waste recycling services thereby reducing the waste going to landfill sites on payment basis subject to the following conditions:

(1) The waste generators shall bear the cost of services rendered by the service providers. It is clarified that Greater Chennai Corporation has not fixed any price for any service. So, waste generators are advised to enquire the full details and take appropriate decision regarding this. (2) Service providers shall comply with Tamilnadu Pollution Control Board and Central Pollution Control Board norms related to Solid Waste Management and other applicable laws. (3) If any guidance is required, waste generators may contact the Greater Chennai Corporation zonal level field officials. (4) Any drawbacks / problems faced with these service providers, the waste generators may reach out to Greater Chennai Corporation through E-mail at [email protected] or call to 1913.
