I’m excited about it because like most people know, I started my career at Thunderdome. Besides that, it’ s still the best hardcore event ever so to see it return for their 25th anniversary is awesome.
Which Festivals can’t we miss this year? There are many festivals who are great but Defqon.1, Hardshock, BKJN vs Partyraiser, C.R.A.F.T, Outdoor Stereo, Harmony of Hardcore (especially the Footworxx stage) Dominator and Airforce 1 you can’t miss. I also would advise you to check out Tomorrowland 2017 because since last year they also do hardcore.
What do you love about the Gabberscene? Most of all the people (The Crowd) and of course the music!
Do you miss something in the Gabberscene? At this point I have no complains at all, love the people, love the scene.
What things are you working on at the moment? I’m working on some great collabs with awesome producers. Unfortunately, can’t give you any names right now but it will be great.
You already did so much in the Gabberscene, but what you still wish to do? I hope that I can deliver some new talents for the future
What are your favorite things to do, besides the Gabberscene? I like to read true crime stories and spending time with my son. You play since more than 20 years now. Is there for you a big change between then and now? Yes the scene is changing all the time. People who become a bit older quit with going to parties and people who become 16 years old are entering the scene. The last years I t-shirt notice that the new generation Terrorheads are really excited and dedicated. The atmosphere art.nr.: 805-035-050 is getting better at parties. When I talk about my own Terrordrang events I see that there’s Size: S-M-L-XL-XXL becoming a big family feeling. Besides the music the people also come there to see each other again and make new friends.
You already did so much, but what you still wish to do? To be honest I’m now at a point that I can’t do a lot more. I’m playing at partiers every weekend, I’m organizing about 10 events per years by myself, I have my own bookings agency Terrordrang Booking, I’m running my labels, I’m busy with merchandising and I have to produce new music. It’s more than a fulltime job. I really love what I do and I hope to continue this for a long time.
The scene has become bigger and bigger also outside The Netherlands and Europe. How is your experience outside there? How they live hardcore there? It’s different in every country. In every country they have their own special kind of things, and their own special dance moves. In the UK they all take XTC, in Germany they started as first ones with kicking their leg as high in the air as possible with a clap under their knee, in Italy they get a lot of big piercings everywhere in their faces, and so on. The scene outside Holland is getting bigger, also in countries where you don’t expect it. For example I’ve played in Bulgaria, Mexico and upcoming Colombia to name a few. I’ve never expected that they should listen to my Terror music really all over the world. Do you miss something in the scene? I really love it how the scene is right now. One happy Terror family.
How do you see the scene in the next 20 years? You never can predict the future, but I hope the best of it. With my own events (Noisekick’s Terrordrang, Frenchcore S’il Vous Plaît, Fucking Bas- tards) I try to give the people high quality parties with the bests line-ups and the biggest sound system, I hope to continue this for many years.
Which Festivals we can’t miss this year? Personally I always love: Dominator, Defqon.1, Harmony of Hardcore, Hardshock, Ground Zero and Q-Base. The indoor parties you really can’t miss are Noisekick’s Terrordrang, Frenchcore S’il Vous Plaît, Fucking Bastards and Uptempo Is The Tempo.
Which things are you busy with at this moment? At the moment I’m busy with answering the questions of this interview ;) Besides I’m also busy with a new track vs Sjammienators, will be released training pants soon at Noisekick Records and the Hardshock Festival mix cd.
