Der Mitschnitt zu diesem Livealbum entstand auf dem Abschlusskonzert der „50th Anniversay Tour“ im November 2019 in der legendären Royal Albert Hall in London. Es steht zwar „50“ drauf, aber letztendlich steckt natürlich etwas weniger drinnen. Denn Hawkwind streifen eben nur einige Stationen ihrer umfangreichen Karriere, setzen zwar in erster Linie auf die Klassiker der 70er wie z.B. ‚Born To Go‘, ‚Space Is Deep‘, ‚Spirit Of The Age‘, ‚The Watcher‘, ‚Silver Machine‘ oder die beiden Doppelpacks ‚Assault And Battery / The Golden Void‘ und ‚Master Of The Universe / Welcome To The Future‘. Doch genauso bekommen insgesamt fünf Stücke aus „All Aboard The Skylark“ ihr Recht. Letztendlich ist dies ein teilweise übergangslos ineinander greifender Mix aus offensichtlichen Klassikern, wenngleich ohne die ganz großen Überraschungen. Dazu noch ein kurzes Blitzlicht in die 80er und 90er, angereichert um aktuelle Stücke. Immerhin gedenkt man beim unverwüstlichen ‚Silver Machine‘ dem legendären ehemaligen Bandmitglied Lemmy Kilmister, wobei ebenfalls der typische augenzwinkernde Humor nicht fehlen darf. Denn der bei diesem Stück den Gesang übernehmende Schlagzeuger Richard Chadwick kontert ganz locker die Frage „Richard verliert seine Stimme, möchtest Du noch ‚Silver Machine‘ singen?“ mit einem klaren „Es geht noch“ und schon geht die sprichwörtliche und gut geölte Space-Rock-Post, der Trip in weite Sphären, mit Volldampf ab.

    The Music Industry: Demarcating Rhyme from Reason and the Fleecing of Consumer Culture I. Introduction The recording industry has a long history rooted deep in technological achievement and social undercurrents. In place to support such an infrastructure, is a lengthy list of technological advancements, political connections, lobbying efforts, marketing campaigns, and lawsuits. Ever since the early 20th century, record labels have embarked on a perpetual campaign to strengthen their control over recording artists and those technologies and distribution channels that fuel the success of such artists. As evident through the current draconian recording contracts currently foisted on artists, this campaign has often resulted in success. However, the rise of MTV, peer-to-peer file sharing networks, and even radio itself also proves that the labels have suffered numerous defeats. Unfortunately, most music listeners in the world have remained oblivious to the business practices employed by the recording industry. As long as the appearance of artistic freedom exists, as reinforced through the media, most consumers have typically been content to let sleeping dogs lie. Such a relaxed viewpoint, however, has resulted in numerous policies that have boosted industry profits at the expense of consumer dollars. Only when blatant coercion has occurred, as evidenced through the payola scandals of the 1950s, does the general public react in opposition to such practices. Ironically though, such outbursts of conscience have only served to drive payola practices further underground—hidden behind co-operative advertising agreements and outside promotion consultants. The advent of the Internet in the last decade, however, has thrown the dynamics of the recording industry into a state of disarray.

He dared not move; he had no desire to draw attention to himself. The seconds ticked into minutes, but Lucian remained still. Listening. Sounds drifted upward from the room beneath his chamber. A man laughed too loudly with a thin note of hysteria edging his mirth. The sound gave Lucian goose bumps. Something—perhaps a vase or a mirror—shattered. Another peal of laughter clipped the air before indistinct voices murmured in approval.
