Su-25: DCS Flaming Cliffs Flight Manual DCS WORLD [SU-25: DCS FLAMING CLIFFS] Su-25: DCS Flaming Cliffs Flight Manual DCS WORLD [SU-25: DCS FLAMING CLIFFS] INTRODUCTION Thank you for your purchase of Su-25: DCS Flaming Cliffs. This simulation is an outgrowth of our Flaming Cliffs series that provides great graphics and flight models, yet has a more shallow learning curve than some of our other DCS titles like the A-10C, Ka-50 and P-51D. While this Su-25 retains the cockpits functionality of the Su-25 from the Flaming Cliffs series, it adds a very advanced flight model. Key features of the Su-25: DCS Flaming Cliffs include: Detailed and accurate 3D model and animations Six Degrees of Freedom (6DOF) capable cockpit Advanced Flight Model (AFM) Campaign and missions Su-25 skins from a wide array of squadrons "Game" modes for more relaxed gameplay Perhaps most important, as part of DCS World, the Su-25: DCS Flaming Cliffs operates in the regularly updated DCS World and is fully compatible with other DCS titles online. Cordesman [email protected] February 26, 2019 Burke Chair Photo: ARASH KHAMOUSHI/AFP/ Getty Images In Strategy Iran and the Need for Missile Defense in the Gulf: Key Net Assessment Indicators Anthony H. Cordesman U.S. defense planners have been examining the need to create effective missile defenses in the Gulf since at least Iraq’s first use of ballistic missiles against Iran during the Iran-Iraq War in the mid-1980s. Actual progress, however, has been slow and has taken place on a country-by-country basis rather than a part of an integrated effort to create effective regional defenses. Israel has developed effective layered missile and rocket defenses for itself, but the defenses of our Arab strategic partners consist largely of limited coverage by dual capable Patriot missile and air defense systems and surface-to-air missiles that provide some coverage against cruises missiles, UCAVs, and drones. Meanwhile, Iraq, Oman, and Bahrain do not have a Patriot missile system. The United States has deployed Aegis cruisers in the past on a contingency basis and has now deployed THAAD missile defenses to the region. Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE have also bought THADD systems. As yet, however, there are no clear plans to provide an integrated missile defense system for the region, and the deep divisions between Arab strategic partners make it impossible to develop even integrated air defenses.

Since its inception, the show in Bengaluru has become a major international venue dedicated to air force armament and other materiel, equipment for commercial aircraft and rocket and space industry, and air defence assets. The innovative nature of Aero India enables its participants to display the intellectual and production capabilities of their nations’ defence industries and its guests to be impressed with the breathtaking aerobatics performed by military aces at Air Force Station Yelahanka. Rosoboronexport is a long-time participant of the air show in Bengaluru. Our cooperation with India is based on due account of the most promising lines of development and expansion of the military technical cooperation that has evolved into strategic partnership a long time ago. A case in point is the joint work of Indian and Russian specialists Anatoly Isaikin, under key aircraft programmes on the development of Director General, Rosoboronexport JSC a multirole medium-range transport plane and a fi fth- generation fi ghter.

This submission will show that ongoing trends and recent developments in regional air and missile capability growth support the case made by Defence. Therefore: 1. The replacement of the F/A-18A with a new technology fighter post-2010 will be necessary, should current trends persist. 2. A larger type of fighter aircraft would be better suited as a replace- ment for the F/A-18A, should current trends persist. 3. Substantially improved aerial refuelling capabilities and Airborne Early Warning & Control aircraft will be required to support the F/A-18A, should current trends persist. 3/86 Why Air Superiority? 4/86 What is Air Superiority? 3.46 DI(AF) AAP 1000 The Air Power Manual (2nd Ed): “Control of the Air is the campaign in which operations are conducted for the purpose of gaining freedom of action in the air.
