A recent emergence of the mobilities paradigm created potential for bridging the two knowledge networks and providing opportunities for crossover and mutual enrichment. Engaging with the intersection of tourism and migration mobilities, this study has a dual purpose. Theoretically it explores diaspora tourism as a promising link between tourism and migration. Practically diaspora tourism is offered as a coping strategy that can be used by immigrants to alleviate stress associated with relocation to a culturally dissimilar society. In this dissertation three aspects of diaspora tourism are explored as they pertain to the fourth wave of Ukrainian immigrants in the United States. The first aspect concerns identity formation and adjustment issues Ukrainian immigrants experience upon arrival to the United States, and how these issues affect their relationship with and desire to visit Ukraine. -

Tsunami 6 Months After Foreword At the end of December 2004, Plan joined people from neighbouring communities, local governmental and voluntary organisations, and the international community to respond to the Indian Ocean tsunami disaster. It seems appropriate now both to reflect on what has happened since the tsunami struck, and to look at the work in the months and years ahead. The tsunami was an unprecedented disaster, both in terms of its impact and in the scale of local and international responses. Given this, what has Plan been able to achieve or not achieve over the past six months? How did Plan work with people in their struggle to reclaim their normal lives? What children’s issues were we in Plan able to address, and what issues remain? Outsiders tend to see the victims and survivors of disasters as a homogeneous group. Its motto was “For service and courage”. The Order of St. George was distinguished by its statute among other Russian orders as a reward for personal valour in battle, and the merits for which an officer could be awarded a prize were strictly regulated by the statute: "Neither the high breed, nor the wounds received before the enemy, give the right to be granted this order: but this is given to those who not only corrected their position in everything by oath, honour and duty, but also distinguished themselves by their special what a courageous act, or the wise, and for Our military service, gave useful advice ... This order should never be removed: for it is acquired through merit". The Order had four degrees: 1st degree. The order's badge is a white enamel cross with widening ends and a gold border along the edges. In the middle of the cross, on the medallion, there is the image of the Moscow coat of arms. On the reverse side of the medallion there is a monogram of the saint: "SG". It was weared on a ribbon from should to hip.
