CD Reviews Popa Chubby • The Fight is On Last March Blind Pig Records released an audio compact disc in round 8 with heavy body blows in the Noisemaking Love (CD) entitled “The Fight is On” brought to you by the one and Machine. This brings the typical Popa attack filled with plenty only Popa Chubby. Popa has made several CD’s with a fair of up tempo guitar picking and slide work and his loud gruff amount of genre spread dating back to his first release in 1995 vocals to deliver a good rocking song. CD Reviews Kirk Fletcher • My Turn Electro Groove Records Kirk Fletcher may not have the name recognition of a lot of the history of that famous landmark where slaves would gather today’s young blues players but he is surely one of the finest on Sunday to dance. Kirk does this history proud with a strong (and busiest) guitar players around today. In the past arrangement featuring outstanding guitar and vocal tracks over ten years he has played and recorded with Kim Wil- the very heavy dance beat. son’s Blues Revue, spent thee years traveling with Blues For Antone does not leave you wondering Charlie Musselwhite’s band, served a stint with who Antone might be. This is pure Texas blues the Fabulous Thunderbirds, recorded five albums guitar boiled down to its core essentials. It is an obvious tribute from Wendell to his wife about her importance through his treatment. There are fourteen tracks on this CD and there really is not a throw away in the batch. In addition to the original songs there is an interesting mix of covers including one of the Beatle’s I’ll Be Back.
