ELISABETH ROSENBERG Soprano

Dramatic soprano Elisabeth Rosenberg is known for her clarion sound and striking presence. In 2020, Ms. Rosenberg will debut Strauss' Vier letzte Lieder with the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra, and sing Brünnhilde in Pittsburgh Festival Opera’s concert version of ’s and Götterdämmerung. Elisabeth was recently awarded an Encouragement Grant from the New York Wagner Society, and won second place in the Mildred Miller Pittsburgh Festival Opera Competition. Her debut as Senta in Der Fliegende Höllander with Ópera Nacional de Chile was canceled due to the Covid-19 crisis and is rescheduled for a future season.

In 2019, she made her debut with Pittsburgh Festival Opera as Sieglinde in Die Valkyrie to great critical acclaim. Previously, she performed excerpts from Wagner’s and Wesendonck Lieder as a featured artist with the Mastersinger’s Program lead by world-renowned , Jane Eaglen. In 2018-19 Ms. Rosenberg sang Brünnhilde’s Immolation Scene from Götterdämmerung with the Akron Symphony Orchestra. She also performed the role of Gerhilde in Die Walküre alongside American soprano Christine Goerke at the Miami Wagner Institute.

In 2015, Ms. Rosenberg was a quarter-finalist in the 23rd edition of Operalia, hosted by House, a finalist in the Elizabeth Connell Prize for Dramatic Sopranos in Sydney, Australia, and a semi-finalist in the International Hans Gabor Belvedere Competition. Other credits include her debut with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra as soprano soloist in Verdi’s .

Ms. Rosenberg received her undergraduate degree from the University of California and her Master’s degree from Rice University in Houston, Texas.
