Any student who interrupts enrollment by an absence of one year incurs the obligation of meeting changed requirements in the new WC Catalog that is in effect when readmitted. Course content and regulations are constantly being reviewed and revised. The College reserves the right to withdraw or amend the content of any courses listed in the WC Catalog. Students will normally graduate under the requirements of the Catalog that is in effect when they enter Williamson College. Students who have not had a break in enrollment of one year may elect to graduate under the requirements of the WC Catalog in effect at the time of graduation. ACCREDITATION Williamson College is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) (formerly the Accrediting Association of Bible Colleges, AABC) for the granting of the Associate, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees in both on-site and online formats. ABHE is a national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Office of Education. Accreditation with ABHE allows the College to offer Federal grants, aid, and Veteran’s benefits. STATUS The College is not-for-profit and is recognized as a 501(c)(3) organization by the Internal Revenue Service which allows the College to receive grants and gifts, both restricted and unrestricted. The College also welcomes the gift of suitable books and related materials for the John W. Neth, Jr. Library. 1 ORGANIZATION Williamson College is a not-for-profit, interdenominational institution created under the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States of America, where authorization has been granted by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission to offer the Associate Degree in Leadership the Bachelor of Science degree in Ministry Leadership, and Business Administration, as well as the Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership. The College is owned and operated by an independent and self-perpetuating Board of Trustees under the leadership of the Chair of the Board (selected by the Board from its members). The Board appoints the President, as well as approves all policies and the budget of the College. The management of the College is the responsibility of the President. The President is assisted by the Executive Team, the Faculty and members of the College staff. College Attorney: Chuck Cagle, Lewis, King, Krieg & Waldrop, Nashville, TN 3 WELCOME FROM THE PRESIDENT In recent weeks I had the privilege of strolling around Oxford University in England with some of our students enrolled in our Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership. What a special delight for me to spend some hours basking in the shadow of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and the Inklings, in their now-famous pub, The Eagle and Child. The experience renewed my interest in the writings of Lewis and, as a result, I stumbled across his remarks that I find relevant to academic pursuits today: “If we let ourselves, we shall always be waiting for some distraction or other to end before we can really get down to our work. The only people who achieve much are those who want knowledge so badly that they seek it while the conditions are still unfavorable. Favorable conditions never come.” After serving several years in my role as President, I’ve discovered that most incoming students are questioning the timing of this life-changing decision of enrolling in college. As Lewis contends, “Favorable conditions never come.” In reality, our moments of personal, professional, and spiritual growth are often forged in the crucible of unfavorable conditions.
