The Group seeks to address every aspect of the financial services needs – savings, investments, credit, protection and payments – of each and every customer segment – large corporations, small & medium enterprises, urban customers, farming and non-farming rural communities and the under-privileged who have thus far been excluded from access to financial services. ICICI Bank has helped millions of individuals and families achieve their aspirations, as well as played a key role in the creation of infrastructure and industrial capacity in the country. The Indian banking sector is passing through a phase that is both challenging and exciting. The growth slowdown that the economy experienced from 2012 onwards has led to stress on the corporate sector, resulting in both pressure on asset quality as well as limited new growth opportunities in the corporate segment for the banking sector. At the same time, there are robust growth opportunities in the retail segment and in rural areas; and in the continuing opportunities for transformation led by technology. The policy measures put in place over the last two years have also led to a substantial improvement in macro-economic parameters and are laying the foundation for new opportunities for the corporate sector. Over the last few years, ICICI Bank has substantially strengthened its retail and rural business, as evidenced both by its strong deposit franchise and funding profile, the robust growth in its retail loan portfolio and healthy and stable asset quality in this segment. Rather, the 11th-century temples are part of a larger visuality that extends to contemporary civic monuments in the city center, Rick suggested in the first class that I took with him. I learnt to move across time and space. To understand modern Vrindavan, one would have to look at its Mughal past; to understand temple architecture, one would have to look for rebellions in the colonial archive. Catherine B. Asher gave me the gift of the Mughal world – a world that I only barely knew before I met her. Today, I speak of the Islamicate world of colonial Vrindavan. Cathy walked me through Mughal mosques, tombs, and gardens on many cold wintry days in Minneapolis and on a hot summer day in Sasaram, Bihar. Sreeja Abstract-The “BapuBomma” (Bapu’s dolls/ Bapu’s drawings) is a familiar term in Telugu language, and it refers to the ideal Telugu woman, as picturised by SattirajuLakshminarayana (1933-2014), commonly known as ‘Bapu’, through his artwork. Bapu was a painter, cartoonist, and filmmaker and in all three mediums he has constructed the image of the Telugu maiden as sensuous and domestic. There has been research done in the field of the Telugu literary tradition, but contemporary art remains unexplored, and there is no study of Bapu’s work in these three mediums, especially his portrayals of women. This paper will be looking exclusively at the artworkconsidered the traditional “BapuBommas”. Through a semiotic analysis, the paper will study the symbols embedded within the paintingsand place them in the context of Telugu society to study their nature and implications. Being part of the mainstream, his work has managed to do much more than express the prevailing artistic tradition of his times- it creates and reflects society directly. The paper will also look at how this image has percolated into another form of art- film, in order to substantiate this argument. In a postcolonial and increasingly westernised context, there is a strong urge to retain a certain identity that is rooted in what is understood as rural and traditional, and this urge is depicted extensively in Bapu’s work.     SUMEDHA Journal of Management A Study on Merger of ICICI Bank and Bank of Rajasthan – Achini Ambika* Abstract The purpose of the present paper is to explore various reasons of merger of ICICI and Bank of Rajasthan. This includes various aspects of bank mergers. It also compares pre and post merger financial performance of merged banks with the help of financial parameters like, Credit to Deposit, Capital Adequacy and Return on Assets, Net Profit margin, Net worth, Ratio. Through literature Review it comes know that most of the work done high lightened the impact of merger and Acquisition on different companies. The data of Merger and Acquisitions since economic liberalization are collected for a set of various financial parameters. Paired T-test used for testing the statistical significance and this test is applied not only for ratio analysis but also effect of merger on the performance of banks. This performance being tested on the basis of two grounds i.e., Pre-merger and Post- merger. Finally the study indicates that the banks have been positively affected by the event of merger. Introduction The main roles of Banks are Economics growth, Expansion of the economy and provide funds for investment. The Indian banking sector can be divided into two eras, the liberalization era and the post liberalization era. In the pre liberalization era government of India nationalized 14 banks as 19th July 1965 and later on 6 more commercial Banks were nationalized as 15th April 1980. In the year 1993 government merged the new banks of India and Punjab National banks and this was the only merged between nationalized Banks after that the number of Nationalized Banks reduces from 20 to 19.
