The lockbox program also reduces possible property damaged caused by first responders forcing entry into a home.

In an emergency situation, an individual who calls 9-1-1 may not be able to open their door. Every second counts.

The lockbox program is open to all residents.

Each lockbox is $30. Cash or a check payable to City of Beachwood.

What is a lockbox?

A lockbox is a small, secure metal box which is self-installed on a resident’s front door and contains a key to the home. The box is locked by a unique key that can only be accessed by the Beachwood Fire Department. The boxes are very safe and durable. These boxes will only be accessed by our emergency personnel in the event of an emergency; at no other time will this box be accessed by anyone.

How does the program work?

Any resident interested in a lock box should contact the Beachwood Fire Department at 216-292-1965. There is an application and a release form to be signed by the homeowner. The homeowner will need to bring a spare house key when picking up the lock box. City of THE UPPERCLASSMEN NEWS 18 Beachwood
