Neil Diamond was born in 1941 in Brooklyn. His career as a singer and songwriter has spanned over five decades starting with the release of You are My Love at Last in 1962. As of 2014, he has sold over 125 million records worldwide and is considered to be the third most successful adult contemporary artist on the Billboard chart, behind Barbra Streisand and Elton John. Diamond was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984 and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011. He received the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000 and, in 2011, he was recognized at the Kennedy Center Honors. He has ten #1 hit singles: Cracklin’ Rosie, Song Sung Blue, Longfellow Serenade, Desiree, You Don’t Bring Me Flowers, Love on the Rocks, America, Yesterday’s Songs, I’m a Believer, and Heartlight. Diamond released his newest album in October 2016, Acoustic Christmas, and it features 12 favourite carols. His other most popular songs such as Forever In Blue Jeans, Sweet Caroline, Kentucky Woman, and Red Red Wine have been included on recent albums such as All-Time Greatest Hits and Melody Road. Diamond’s last concert in Vancouver was in 2015. His 50 Year Anniversary World Tour has just been announced for 2017 and this July concert in Vancouver is one of only two performances in Canada. Show Seating — Seating in Rogers Arena is in Section 106, Rows 14, 15, 16, 18, 23 and 24; Section 107, Row 23. These seats are on the side of the arena with an excellent view of the stage. This is the most expensive seating category. Seats are assigned according to the order that you book for this tour. The tour director is unable to assist you personally with this, as there are thousands of people arriving and departing at the same time. If you think you may have difficulty participating in Activity Level 1, Wells Gray Tours recommends that you bring a companion to assist you. The tour director and driver have many responsibilities, so please do not expect them, or your fellow travellers, to provide ongoing assistance. Tour Policies Payments: A deposit of $250 per person is requested at the time of booking and the balance is due April 25, 2017. Cancellation Policy: Up to March 24, your tour payments will be refunded less an administrative charge of $50 per person. From March 25 to April 25, the cancellation charge is $250 per person (the deposit). From April 26 to June 23, the cancellation charge is 50% of the tour fare. After June 23, there is no refund. Fare Changes: Changes to taxes and surcharges from tour suppliers can occur at any time and are beyond the con- trol of Wells Gray Tours, therefore Wells Gray Tours reserves the right to adjust fares due to such changes up until the time of departure. This time they were there to hear Dean Colley and Hot August Night perform a dazzling tribute to Neil Diamond. Dean Colley's look-alike and sound-alike performance has earned him rave reviews across the county -- and the Hemet audience definitely agreed with that assessment, cheering and singing to each classic hit from the extensive career of the man nicknamed the "Jewish Elvis." The auditorium was filled with sweethearts celebrating an early Valentine's Day, filling the dance floor in each other's arms. At intermission, over $400 was raised for the Building Fund with a raffle drawing featuring a basket of wine and glasses from Golden Era Productions, a gift certificate and Ramona Bowl memorabilia from the Ramona Foundation, champagne and flutes from Joann Morello, and chocolates and a Disney raffle ticket from the Assistance League of Hemacinto. The concert was the second in the 2017 "Tribute Mania" concert series that is helping bring the Historic Hemet Theatre back to life. After three years in operation, the Foundation is making a profit and raising funds to completing the purchase of the building. Meanwhile, tickets for the next concert, a tribute to The Eagles featuring Desperado on Saturday March 4th are already half gone. This will be the third time this band has appeared at HHT -- selling out the house each time.
