WALTER JACKSON A.C.C - 1989 • Compiled the internal review of Orgreave–'84 onwards • Schemed SYP's role in the Hillsborough disaster • Cowered under the Police Control Box Table • Influenced SYP operations until retirement - 1995 • Covered up the truth and became a protected species • Remembered selectively and lied under oath at inquest Secured a full police pension in 1995 2. PETER WRIGHT - C.C. AND PRESIDENT OF ACPO • Ruled SYP with an iron fist for his “Iron Lady”' • Policed Toxteth '81 and knobbled Orgreave miners - '84 • Sanctioned SYP's role in the Hillsborough Cover-Up • Resigned on full police pension. 3. P ETER HAYES – DEPUTY C HIEF C ONSTABLE – '89 • Involved in a cover-up of Orgreave with A.C.C. Jackson • Mooted possibility of junior officer appearing to say “I opened the gate” • Recalled little as a key witness during recent Inquests • Retired on full police pension in 1993 4. DAVID DUCKENFIE L D – CHIEF SUPERINTENDENT • Promoted only weeks before the big match • Screwed up as 'Inexperienced Match Commander' • Spawned the first big lie during disaster – opening gates • Elected to 'Worshipful Master' in his lodge - 1990 • Retired on ill-health, thus avoiding disciplinary action - 1991 • Perverted the course of justice for 27 years • Enjoyed police pension, early retirement and legal aid 5. B RIAN MOLE – CHIEF SUPERINTENDENT - '89 • Planned the detail of the disastrous SYP operation • Switched from Match Commander at last minute • Gloated beforehand that Duckenfield would “fuck it up” • Fraternised with Duckenfield and others at the Lodge 6. BERNARD MURRAY – SUPERINTENDENT – '89 • Shared responsibilities over Police Control Box fiasco • Pronounced “Not Guilty” by a jury in prosecution case • Escaped internal disciplinary action in 1991. 7. GRAHAM MOORE – A.C.C. SYP • Decided that no officer would face disciplinary action • Protected Walter Jackson from disciplinary action Promoted to Chief Constable – West Yorkshire Police 8. GEOFFREY DEAR – WEST MIDLANDS POLICE - '89 • Orchestrated the whitewash of the police investigation • Displayed wilful blindness to SYP corrupt practice • Appointed HM Inspector of Constabulary in 1990 • Knighted in 1997 • Accepted a role of Deputy Lieutenant in 1998 • Bestowed a title of Vice-Lord Lieutenant of the county • Created a Life Peer in 2006 • Endeared as an Honorary Bencher of Gray's Inn 9. LESLIE SHARP – LEAD INVESTIGATOR • Seconded to West Mids Investigation of Hillsborough • Cushioned the interrogation of WALTER JACKSON • Knighted in 1997 upon his retirement from the police 10. MERVYN JONES A.C.C. WEST MIDLANDS POLICE • Tasked with running the West Mids investigation of SYP • Ignored SYP's corrupt statement changing process • Countenanced the perpetuation of the cover-up • Influenced Coroner Stefan Popper unduly over alcohol 11. STANLEY BEECHEY - WEST MIDLANDS POLICE • Headed up the corrupt Serious Crime Squad in WMP • Commanded the squad when it was forced to disband • Fabricated evidence and altered statements • Framed innocent men in proven miscarriage of justice • Allowed to influence the Coroner Stefan Popper 12. JULIA APPLETON – RETIRED WEST MIDS POLICE • Allegedly bullied Special Constable Debra Martin • Visited Debra Martin at her home on 3 or 4 occasions • Exerted undue pressure on witness to alter statement • Denied the accusations made against her at inquest 13. RICHARD WELLS – CHIEF CONSTABLE SYP - '91 • Retained the services of Walter Jackson as his A.C.C. • Fast-tracked officers like Bettison and Hogan-Howe • Opposed the influence of Freemasonry • Commented on Inspector Calvert's whistle-blowing • Quoted from Edmund Burke in 1995. • Called for police officers to be prosecuted 14. DAN CROMPTON – H.M.I.C. • Criticised the families over Hillsborough as HMIC • Described them as vindictive and cruel over Bettison • Assessed Bettison's posting to Merseyside Police • Defended the Chief Constable's appointment there • Knighted in 2005 15. DAVID CROMPTON – CHIEF CONSTABLE SYP • Awarded QPM for community work post 7/7 Bombings • Appointed Chief Constable of SYP in 2012 • Reprimanded over Hillsborough comments in 2012 • Announced early retirement prior to Inquest verdict • Protected the “Walter Jackson” Control Box Incident • Suspended over Inquest conduct of SYP in 2016 16. BERNARD HOGAN-HOWE – NATION'S TOP COP • Criticised for his role on the day at Hillsborough • Transferred to Merseyside Police as A.C.C. - 1997 • Declared a Hillsboro' Cover-Up could not happen today • Appointed Chief Constable of Merseyside - 2007 • Metropolitan Police Commissioner – 2011 to present • Knighted - 2013 17. IAN BLAIR – NATION'S FORMER TOP COP • Controlled the orchestration of London Bombings '05 • Knighted – 2008 • Given a cross bench life peerage – 2010 • Blasted SYP over Hillsborough – hypocrite – 2012 Befriended Professor Phil Scraton Hillsborough - 2016 18. NORMAN BETTISON – THE RISE AND FALL • Suspected of running the Hillsborough “Black-Ops” Unit • Promoted to Superintendent within SYP – Oct. 1989 • Appointed an Assistant Chief Constable in WYP – 1993 • Chief Constable Merseyside Police amidst protests - '98 • Awarded the Queen's Police Medal – 2000 • Given QE2 Golden Jubilee Medal – 2002 • Retired to become Chief Executive of Centrex in 2005 • Knighted - 2006 • Rejoined police as Chief Constable WYP – 2007 • Given QE2 Diamond Jubilee Medal – 2012 • Accused of a multitude of serious criminal acts • Resigned from WYP with immediate effect – 2012 • Referred to the IPCC over Stephen Lawrence Enquiry 19. TERRY WAIN – CHIEF SUPERINTENDENT • Produced the infamous “Wain Report” • Denied his report deliberately attempted to blame fans • Admitted the report was wrong and favoured police • Defended Senior Officers in his report • Alleged fans were violent and influenced by alcohol 20. A.C.C. STUART ANDERS O N • Recommended C/Supt. Mole be moved to Barnsley • Defended this decision at the Second Inquest • Briefed officers afterwards – not to blame themselves • Blamed drunk ticket-less fans instead • Linked to Orgreave, and a Freemason up until 1985 21. DONALD DENTON – CHIEF SUPERINTENDENT • Oversaw the changing of officers' accounts - 1989 • Suggested amendments to accounts - 1989 • Admitted amendments may have impeded Inquiry '89 • Liaised with West Midlands Police and Peter Metcalfe • Found to have lied at the Stuart Smith Scrutiny 22. JAMES SHARPLES, CHIEF CONSTABLE MERSEYSIDE • Attended match in the Directors Box – 1989 • Visited Police Control Box several times at key times • Irked the families for his criticism of the fans • Praised conduct of senior officers from SYP on the day • QPM and Knighted in 1996 23. ROGER MARSHALL - SUPERINTENDENT • Supervised the operations outside Leppings Lane • Expressed profound regret for not asking K.O. delay • Demanded gates be opened to save lives outside • Visited the Police Control Box at 4pm • Described the officers inside being in a state of shock • Admitted that Duckenfield had told a “wicked lie” • Accompanied Duckenfield and Jackson to Police HQ • Suspected that Senior Command wanted Marshall to carry the can initially 24. ROGER GREENWOOD - SUPERINTENDENT • Stopped the match at 3:07p.m. by running on pitch • Expected the Control Room to take control soon after • Stated that he felt as if dealing with the disaster alone • Sobbed in the witness box about his recollections 25. JOHN NESBIT – CHIEF SUPERINTENDENT • Described police handling as “chaotic” with a complete lack of organisation • Alleged to have taken officers to a pub gathering to get story straight a few days after Hillsborough • Alleged to have said: “We have all got to get our stories straight or a lot of senior officers' heads will roll. • After retirement on full pension employed as Safety Officer at Hillsborough Stadium 26. DETECTIVE CHIEF SUPERINTENDENT ADDIS • HIP report states that DCS Addis could not get into the Control Box because of “Fireman stuck in the door”. • Addis, under questioning, said he had arrived at Hillsborough and talked to Jackson at 4pm but repeatedly said he could not remember what Jackson had told him; Addis said he did not think he had even asked Jackson for an initial view of what had caused the unfolding disaster. • Addis also denied that he had instructed his CID officers in the gymnasium to ask relatives about alcohol, but his account did furnish the families with an explanation for how they were questioned. 27. BOB PURDY – AN INSPECTOR ON DUTY • Regretted calling fans “animals” • Described Roger Marshall as “looking perplexed” • Shouted at officers on the pitch who were mesmerised • Failed to object to his statement being changed Promoted to Temporary ACC before retirement 28. IAN DAINES – FORMER A.C.C. • Patronised families in 2000, after Hooper's retrial ban • Labelled whistle-blower Inspector Calvert as “naïve” • Stated nothing more could be learnt after Stuart-Smith • Expressed his hope for the families to “move-on” • Retired on full ACPO police pension 29. ANDY HOLT – FORMER DEPUTY CHIEF CONSTABLE • Linked with the “Old Trafford Bomb Hoax” - 2004 • Helped cover-up the “Bogus Terror Threat” construct • Coined the SYP mantra “Enabling The One Truth” • Attended the Hillsborough Inquests with Hayley Court 30. SUPERINTENDENT TONY PRATT - SYP • Gates opened at Barnsley v Stoke on 31st Jan. 1989 • Linked with Barnsley FC “dummy run” of Leppings Lane • Disciplined press office support staff over Hillsborough 31.
