With direct absorption and deposition at the lung level, avoiding side effects and presenting fast response time. Several factors inﬂ uence the drug action, such as size, particle movement, ventilatory ﬂ ow, pulmonary expansion, anatomy, respiratory mechanics and the nebulizer and patient interface. The therapeutic optimization depends on the type of nebulizer differentiating itself by the physical principle that generates the mist. Objectives: Check advantages and disadvantages of different inhalation devices. Methodology. This is a review of the PubMed database using descriptors: ultrasonic and jet nebulizer, aerosol deposition in the lung, metered dose inhaler and dry, inhaler therapy. Results: Different devices are mentioned in the literature: pneumatic and ultrasonic nebulizers (administering solutions), metered pressurized inhalers - pMDI used with or without expander chamber (administering suspensions) and dry powder inhalers - DPI (administering powder). Discussion and Conclusion: The US has advantages: quiet, does not require coordinating abilities, without propellant gases and quick nebulization with small amount of solution. Disadvantages: change in the active principle of thermosensitive drugs, deposition in the oropharynx and VAI of 2% of inhaled particles.

Comment: Degeneration (Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3, and Figure 4) and necrosis are considered to be parts of the continuum of cell damage, with degeneration representing reversible cell damage and necrosis representing irreversible cell damage. The light microscopic hallmarks of reversible cell damage (degeneration) include cellular swelling, cytoplasmic vacuolation, perinuclear clear spaces, formation of cytoplasmic blebs, loss of normal apical blebs from Clara cells, and loss of cilia. In some cases, detachment of viable cells from the epithelial surface and nuclear condensation (pyknosis) and cellular shrinkage of scattered cells within the epithelium, suggestive of imminent death of individual cells, may be interpreted as epithelial degeneration because it may be consistent with reversible damage to an epithelial surface and evidence of outright necrosis may be lacking.

However, very rarely, Mohamed Rida Tagajdid, Ahmed Guertite, RSV can induce acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) in immunocompetent adults. Safae Elkochri,1 Hicham Elannaz,1 Rachid Unluckily, optimal management has not been well-known for this eventually fatal condition. Abi,1 Hicham Bekkali,2 Idriss Lahlou Amine1 We report a case of fatal RSV-induced ARDS occurring in a previously healthy man. 1Department of Virology, Mohammed V Military Teaching Hospital, Morocco Observation: A 42-year-old male was admitted to the Emergency Department with cough, 2Intensive Care Unit, Mohammed V Military Teaching Hospital, dyspnea and fever. His previous clinical history showed no relevant disease. Pulmonary Morocco radiology revealed diffuse ground-glass opacities in both lung fields. Lab analysis revealed high inflammation markers, witness of infection. After 2 days, the patient developed ARDS, Correspondence: Mohamed Rida Tagajdid, Mohammed V we transferred it in the Intensive Care Unit. Microbiological investigation reported positivity Military Teaching Hospital, Morocco, Tel 00 212 6 42 90 71 77, of RSV PCR. Furthermore, the patient had a negative serology for HIV and normal T CD4+ Email lymphocyte counts. Despite treatment with Ribavirin and respiratory support, the patient died of pulmonary embolism. Received: November 13, 2019 | Published: November 27, 2019 Conclusion: Thus, RSV infection should be considered a possible though rare cause of ARDS in adulthood in particular when computed tomography (CT) chest find diffuse ground-glass opacities.

Microscopic Anatomy 2015 The Respiratory System Introduction and Overview During a 24-hour period, more than 9000 liters of air enter the interior of the body to participate in gas exchange. This air must be warmed, cleansed, humidified and conducted to the respiratory surface. In the lung, gas traverses a very thin epithelium and connective tissue space to reach capillaries carrying oxygen-poor, carbon dioxide-laden blood from the right ventricle. The ventilatory mechanism consists of diaphragmatic, intercostal, and abdominal musculature as well as elastic tissue within the lung. This mechanism alternately pulls air into (inspiration) or drives air from (expiration) the lung. The lungs are capable of undergoing wide variations in size. In maximum inspiration, the lungs may hold up to 7 liters of air, and with forced expiration may hold as little as 1 liter. The respiratory system contains a proximal conducting portion that connects the exterior of the body with the distal respiratory portion where exchange of gases between air and blood occurs. The conducting portion, which consists of the nasal cavities, pharynx, larynx, and paired main bronchi, delivers air to structures within the lung where gas exchange takes place. Cellular specializations are readily apparent as one follows the flow of air from the nose to the respiratory surface. Although the lung’s primary function is gas exchange, studies over the past several decades have detailed a variety of important metabolic functions of the lung. The respiratory system represents a classic example of the relationship of structure to function. In the case of the lung’s alveoli, if the only pertinent information one had prior to viewing a histological slide was that blood carried oxygen and that the alveolus was the site of gas exchange, one could easily deduce that diffusion is the mechanism of gas exchange.

Under the auspices of the World Association of Veterinary Anatomists (W.A.V.A.), the International Committee on Veterinary Anatomical Nomenclature (I.C.V.A.N.) appointed in Giessen, 1965, a Subcommittee on Histology and Embryology which started a working relation with the Subcommittee on Histology of the former International Anatomical Nomenclature Committee. In Mexico City, 1971, this Subcommittee presented a document entitled Nomina Histologica Veterinaria: A Working Draft as a basis for the continued work of the newly-appointed Subcommittee on Histological Nomenclature. This resulted in the editing of the Nomina Histologica Veterinaria: A Working Draft II (Toulouse, 1974), followed by preparations for publication of a Nomina Histologica Veterinaria.
