Introduction Ogloblin (1935) described two species, Paranaphoidea silvana and P. clavata from South America. But Schauff (1983) erected the genus Omyomymar with P. silvanum as the type species by transferring the species P. silvana from Paranaphoidea to Omyomymar. In addition to the two species described by Ogloblin (1935), Schauff (1983) described two species, O. grisselli, and O. alar from the New World and also transferred P. clavata to Omyomymar. Later, Lin and Chiappini (1996) described three new species (O. glabrum, O. breve and O. longidigitum) from the Old World, China. There was no report of Omyomymar from India till 2010, when Manickavasagam & Rameshkumar (2011) reported this genus for the first time in India based on two females. Introduction Fairyflies (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea: Mymaridae) are internal egg parasitoids of insects except two species that parasitize the larvae of eulophids (Huber et al. 2006). From India, 31 genera and 134 species of Mymaridae have been reported so far (Manickavasagam and Rameshkumar 2013, Ramesh Kumar et al. 2013). The mymarid fauna of India is not well documented as several states and biodiversity rich areas of India have not been surveyed so far for mymarids. -

New information A total of 1754 British and Irish Chalcidoidea species represents a 22% increase on the number of British species known in 1978. Westphalian xiphosurans (Chelicerata)from the Upper Silesia Coal Basin of Sosnowiec, Poland. - Acta Palaeontologica Polonica 41, 4, 413-425. The xiphosurans Bellinurus lunatus (Martin, 1809) and Euproops rotundatus (Prestwich, 1840) are described from sideritic concretions hosted by the Orzesze Beds (Westphalian B) in. the Polish region of the Upper Silesia Coal Basin. Associated flora and fauna include terrestrial plant remains and a single palaeo- dictyopteran insect nymph. As no marine influences are known in this area since the Narnurian A, these xiphosurans were probably fresh-water organisms. Introduction Fossil xiphosurans (horseshoe crabs) have drawn the attention of evolu- tionary biologists for some time as they represent one of the most conser- vative lineages in the animal world (Fisher 1984). Very little has changed in their morphology since the end of the Palaeozoic. The group was the most diverse, both anatomically and ecologically, in the Late Carbonife- rous. Although uncommon as fossils, they have been reported from a number of sites in Europe: Ireland, England, Belgium, France, Germany, and the Czech Republic (Anderson 1994; Anderson & Horrocks 1995; Oplustil 1985; Prantl & Pfibyl 1955; Pfibyl 1967; Raymond 1944; Schultka 1994) and North America: Illinois (Anderson 1994; Fisher 1979; Raymond 1945), Montana (Schram 1979), and Canada (Jones & Woodward 1899). In central Europe, the most extensive Late Carboniferous continental de- posits occur in the Upper Silesia Coal Basin of Poland and Czech Republic. -

It has been in the service of librarians, research scholars, publishers and booksellers and those who are interested in the book world for the last 50 years. During these years, it has undergone vicissitudes of fortune with its initial regular appearance slowing down later to the extent of minimizing its active role as a significant book selection tool. Indian National Bibliography, the prime publication of the Central Reference Library, Calcutta, made its appearance as a quarterly in 1958 with annual cumulations. This arrangement continued till 1963. The periodicity was changed to monthly from January 1964, with annual cumulations. The monthly issues had to be suspended after 1977 forced by the circumstances beyond control. But at the same time persistent efforts were made to restore the periodicity to monthly as in 1964 and to revive its services to its clientele. This revival of the monthly issues was possible only from January 1984. Accordingly, all the monthly issues for 1984-1987 & 1989-93 have already been published. In order to clear the backlog and to make the publication up-to-date, for the period from 1994 -1999 only annual volumes are published. -
