Mission Portugal WE MISSION ARE A MISSION PORTUGAL Pallottines MANTLE OF LIGHT UPON LISBON www.WeAreAMission.org PORTUGAL Information: Fr. José Zavorski, & the Parish of Odivelas || Photos: Parish of Odivelas || Design: Julianne Calzonetti HISTORY As it is seen, Our Lady carries Saints in Her mantle to where Her Son QUICK FACTS needs to be. As it was so through three shepherd children, so also was it Pastoral Guidance: so through St. Vincent Pallotti; where on October 1, 1991, he opened the Our Lady of Mercy Region doors to the Church in the capital city of Lisbon's suburbs. Country: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Our Parish of Odivelas is made of 5 flocks; the Church of the Most Holy Opened: October 1, 1991 Name of Jesus as its mother, along with the Church of Divine Mercy, St, Apostolates: Parish of Odivelas, Joseph the Worker, Chapel of the Holy Family, and Chapel of the Divine Youth, Pastoral, Pilgrimages Holy Spirit. All are under the pastoral guidance of Brazil's Our Lady of Mercy Region, seated in Rio de Janeiro. The roots of Pallotti's Portuguese Parish has intriguing origins to capture our attention, and history of our faith. The oldest known document in the history of Odivelas is a Romanesque inscription found in the church of the Monastery of Odivelas, currently on display at the Museu do Carmo in Lisbon. It reports that “João Ramires, First Prelate of this church, died on 13 February 1183 "In 1147, Lisbon was conquered by the Crusaders; João Ramires would be one of those Crusaders who was in charge of the parish of Odivelas. The Mother Church is considered one of the most sumptuous temples of Lisbon. This very old temple was rebuilt at the end of the 17th century, where inside this rich and majestic temple, the nave is decorated with eighteenth-century tiles featuring biblical scenes. The seven altars are in gilded wood. The chancel, all covered in marble of different colors on the walls and ceilings, is a characteristic of the 19th century. Decorated with 18th century tiles alluding to baptism, the baptistery is likely from the 19th century. XVI, and two rocaille style holy water sinks in red marble. In the sacristy, there is a marble toilet from the Renaissance period - 1573 - with a carved ship. It is located near the S. Dinis Monastery, in the old nucleus of the city of Odivelas. www.WeAreAMission.org "WE MUST SEE OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST IN EVERYTHING." JOSEPH THE WORKER, ARROJA In the grace of the Church's Protector, the first Eucharist at St. Joseph the Worker Church was celebrated on October 8, 1989; then under two diocesan priests. Initially, the Church was first in a classroom; it soon grew to the cafeteria; and then, not even was that enough to hold the faithful. Transitioning to the school shed- which suffered the likes of wind, rain, and cold winters- a Church was constructed on the city's land. At present, there are currently 175 children, 19 catechists, with an estimated 500 people participating in Eucharistic celebrations. Photos: Fr. St. Vincent Pallotti DIVINE MERCY - PATAMEIRAS This community was born by the spiritual inspiration of the then parish Fathers during the years 1987-88, in response to the yearning Catholic faithful. The blessing of the first stone took place April 19, 1998, presided over by D. José Policarpo, Patriarch of Lisbon, followed by the Church's consecration on June 26, 1999. It was finally completed in 2010. Its facilities include the church itself, the Queen of Apostles Auditorium Hall, St. Vincent Pallotti basement, as well as several rooms used for various activities, including catechesis. www.WeAreAMission.org CHAPELS Photos provided by Fr. Artur Karbowy SAC FATIMA At the start of September, there is another Pilgrimage on Foot to Fatima, organized as usual by the Group of Young Marians. For the approximately 100 pilgrims, the destination of the 1st day was Vila Franca de Xira, where they spent the night at the Volunteer Firefighters. It was followed by Vila Chã de Ourique (Ouriquense Social Center), Pernes and Minde (Volunteer Firefighters), until they reached their final destination, the Sanctuary of Fátima. They arrived here on Saturday afternoon, having delivered the Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Fatima, who visited our Parish this year. www.WeAreAMission.org YOUTH Mozambique, Tanzania, South Africa PASTORAL YOUTH OF YOUTH OF ST. But the specialization of many products results in increased costs for each function while also having to deal with any incompatibilities all these functions into a single product. Sollac's development of a natural cork-based thermal coating was initiated by a customer using a similar product but short of the performance required in coating wood-fired ovens. The need led to the research and improvement of the product. CHARACTERISTICS AND PROPERTIES - THERMAL AND ACOUSTIC EFFICIENCY AND REGULATION The choice of cork as a material for thermal insulation was essentially made on the basis of its properties, in fact cork, in contrast to other building materials, is preferred when it comes to insulation because it is breathable, waterproof, impermeable, it does not age, is constant over time in its insulation properties. It is also known that much of the heat produced by heating a house is dispersed due to the presence of structural elements made with traditional materials such as wood and concrete, both being good thermal conductors. The cork in turn eliminates, or at least considerably reduces, these problems. By retaining

Miguel Martínez and José Manuel Viegas 1 ABSTRACT The aim of this paper is to examine the relationship between the availability of transportation infrastructure and services and the pattern of house prices in an urban area, and to assess whether public investment in transportation can really modify residential property values. This study was developed for the Lisbon Metropolitan Area (LMA) as part of a broader study that intends to develop new value capture financing schemes for public transportation in the LMA. The paper focuses in three central municipalities (Amadora, Lisbon, Odivelas) where these effects could be more easily measured due to the existence of a significant variability of public transportation services. The paper tries to determine, using different spatial hedonic pricing models, the extent to which access to transportation infrastructure currently is capitalized into house prices, isolating the influence of three different transportation infrastructures: metro, rail and road.

At the same time, urban mobility is included in the framework of the Healthy Cities movement. In this context, using the Lisbon Metropolitan Area (LMA), Portugal, as the study area, this article intends to answer the following research question: are sustainable urban mobility policies contributing to healthy cities? Urban mobility planning and public health instruments were compared with the discourses and practices of those responsible for the implementation of urban mobility policies and Healthy Cities projects. The results reveal that a large number of responses proposed in the mobility planning instruments are, to some extent, related to the principles of healthy cities. Also, while municipal agents tend not to consider the inclusion of those principles, they instead incorporate the concepts of sustainable development. Nevertheless, we found that both approaches overlap the policy directions of healthy cities.
