JARPET (262-122976) Kategorie: 01.05 industry / tools / machines / robots elektronische Haustiere Children are driven by strong curiosity, and they are especially passionate in observing the nature. However, the fast urbanization process has kept children far away from natural environment, leaving them little contact with various animals. JARPET projects the 3D images of pets, and can interact with kids by multi-sensory technology. Close observation helps children to know about animal behaviors and habits, and develops their passion for the nature. Compared with keeping a real pet, this way costs less and consumes less. When children feel lonely and bored, JARPET is a good companion. • Language of Hope in Europe
Journal of Christian Education in Korea Vol. 65(2021. 3. 30) : 29-54 DOI: 10.17968/jcek.2021..65.002 Language of Hope in Europe Monique van Dijk-Groeneboer (Professor, Tilburg University, The Netherlands) Michal Opatrny (Professor, South Bohemian University, Budojevice Czech Republic) Eva Escher (Professor, University of Erfurt, Germany) Abstract In Europe, the diversity in religions, cultures, languages and historical backgrounds is enormous. World War II and the Soviet Regime have played a large part in this and the flow of refugees from other continents in- creases the pluralism. How can religious education add to bridging between differences? The language across European countries is different, literally between countries, but also figuratively speaking and even inside individual countries. These differences occur in cultural sense and across age groups as well. Secondary education has the task to form young people to become firmly rooted people who can hold their own in society. It is essential that they learn to examine their own core values and their roots. Recognising their values should be a main focus of religious education. However, schools are currently accommodating increasing numbers of non-religious pupils. What role do religious values still play in this situation? How do pupils feel about active involvement in religious institutions, and about basing life choices on religious beliefs? Can other, non-religious values be detected which could form the basis for value-oriented personal formation? Research of these subjects has been ongoing in the Netherlands for more than twenty years and is currently being expanded to the Czech Republic 30 Journal of Christian Education in Korea and(former East) Germany.

PL9700208 28 Section V ,.,.-; ZEUS EXPERIMENT AT HERA ' ZEUS Collaboration 2 Group from the Institute of Nuclear Physics includes: P. Borzeniski, J. Chwastowski, A. Eskreys, K. Piotrzkowski, M. Przybycieri, M. Zachara, L. Zawiejski (physicists) and J. Andruszkow, B. Dajarowski, W. Daniluk, P. Jurkiewicz, A. Kotarba, K. Oliwa. W. Wierba (engineers and technicians) Third year of HERA operation was a very successful one for the HERA crew. Experiments (ZEUS and HI) collected more than 3pb~1 of the integrated luminosity compared to ()00nb~^ in the previous year. Higher luminosity means also higher rates and higher background. That created new problems for our experiment at the beginning of the running period. The common effort of all groups taking care of the different detector components resulted in a smooth and successful running of the ZEUS experiment. The main responsibility of the Cracow group is the reliable performance of the Luminosity Monitor, which has been designed and built by our group. That means the maintenance of the detector, continuous development of the online and offline software tools and the luminosity measurement itself. A very detailed offline analysis of the 1993 luminosity data was done in 1994. This resulted in much better understanding of the systematic effects influencing the luminosity measurement. The systematic error in the determination of the integrated luminosity is now below 2.5%. Modification of the hardware setup, especially replacement of the photomultipliers in the calorimeters, made during the 1993/1994 winter shutdown, allowed for more stable opera- tion in the 1994 running period. Much improvement has also been achieved in both offline and online software.
