HOW TO ENTER INTO YOUR SEASON OF HARVEST? MANNA OR BUFFET? EXODUS 16:34-35 EXODUS: 16:34-35

•“As the Lord commanded , put the manna in front of the Testimony, that it might be kept. The ate manna 40 years until they came to a land that was settled, they ate manna until they reached the border of .” • Manna was white like coriander seed and tasted like wafer made with ~ v. 31 • Psalm 78: 24-25 • “He rained down manna for the people to eat, He gave them grain of , men ate the bread of angels.” • Manna was the longest recorded miracle in the Scriptures – it went on for 40 years. • Question: • How can something so heavenly and yet be so bad for the people? THE MANNA GENERATION: NOT ’S WILL •1. BECAUSE MANNA WAS CONNECTED TO THE WANDERING IN THE DESERT. • spoke in :49 •“Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died.” •Eating manna means you are still a wanderer. 2. BECAUSE WITH MANNA, THERE WAS NO VARIETY • “The people went about and gathered it and ground it in mills or beat it in a mortar and baked it in pans and made cakes of it” ~Numbers 11:8 • Baked it, boiled it, broiled it, barbecue it, fried it, steamed it, stewed it, smoked it or sushi it – it is still MANNA ! 3. BECAUSE MANNA DOES NOT HAVE THE PRINCIPLE OF INVESTMENT

•A) MANNA WAS HIGHLY PERISHABLE •If kept overnight, it smelt terrible and was filled with maggots. B) MANNA ONLY LASTED FOR THE DAY ~ EXODUS 16:19-20

• 19 Then Moses said to them, “No one is to keep any of it until morning.” • 20 However, some of them paid no attention to Moses; they kept part of it until morning, but it was full of maggots and began to smell. So Moses was angry with them. • MANNA GENERATION HAS NO SAVING.

4) BECAUSE MANNA DOES NOT QUALIFY AS AN OFFERING

• Manna cannot be used as an offering to God. • Cannot be used as worship. • Only the produce of the good land can constitute your worship to God. • The tithe or first fruits of the herd, flock and land were offered to God. • LESSON: • We can only offer to God what we sacrifice and work for. Manna was not ours. • “The day after the , they ate some of the produce of the land, unleavened bread and roasted grain. The manna stopped that day” ~ 5:11
