Dear Charter Oak Holiday Parade Participant,

This year our Holiday Festival is one of the biggest Craft Festivals in the ! It would be a good idea to bring cash for vendors, food trucks and raffle! Raffle tickets are $1 each and we have some great prizes. (You do not need to be present to win.)

We are excited to have you in the Charter Oak Holiday Parade! Enjoy the parade and then be sure to venture over to the Holiday Festival with great vendors and food trucks. End the evening watching the fireworks from the stadium bleachers.

General information: • Parade date: Friday, December 7, 2018 at 6:00pm • Parade will take place RAIN OR SHINE. We apologize but no refunds will be issued for inclement weather. • Roads will be closed to through traffic starting at 4:00pm!

Check-in and Line-up: • Line-up is in the Charter Oak High School Parking Lot. Enter at west side entrance and proceed to check in table (by baseball field). Follow volunteer directions to your spot. • Entry line-up times are assigned as noted below and begin at 4:00pm. Line-up times are important. Parade Entries: • ONLY VEHICLES DRIVING IN THE PARADE WILL BE ALLOWED INTO THE COHS PARKING LOT. Entries should head east on Covina Boulevard in order to enter COHS parking lot, proceed to check in table (by baseball field). Follow volunteer directions to your spot.

Participant Drop Off: • DROP OFF FOR STUDENTS AND ENTRY PARTICIPANTS IS IN THE CIRCLE DRIVE OF CHARTER OAK HIGH SCHOOL. YOU MAY ONLY ENTER THE CIRCLE DRIVE FROM THE WEST END OF COVINA BOULEVARD. All other roads will be closed. Thank you in advance for your patience. We encourage you to park in the District Service Center and Adult Education/ETC parking lots and walk across CO Park to the parade area. • If you are a large group, you should send only one person to the check-in table. • Entries with multiple marchers should arrange a meeting place on the grass in front of COHS at the drop off area and proceed to the line-up spot in a timely manner. It is your job to ensure adequate supervision for children. Leave driveways clear. • Drivers must remain with their vehicles at all times. Disbanding/End of Parade: • At the end of the parade, you should disband as quickly as possible. • Marching groups — Designate a meeting area in advance and be sure parents are aware where to meet their child. • All Vehicles can proceed through the COHS parking lot and follow staff direction and signs to parking area or to exit through campus to Cypress Boulevard. You are encouraged to park as directed by volunteers and attend one of the larges vendor festivals in the San Gabriel Valley! • Vehicles towing flatbeds or trailers are encouraged to park in the Viewing Area in the COHS parking lot along the stadium to allow spectators to view your hard work and fabulous creations. Please follow volunteer parking instructions.

Parade Route: • It is important to keep the parade moving. There is NO STOPPING (INCLUDING NO STOPPING TO PEFORM). Everyone must always be in a forward motion so there is no hold up or gaps between parade entries. No throwing of items into the crowd along the route. • Parade begins heading west on Covina Boulevard from Charter Oak High School parking lot to north on Mangrove, to east on Cienega to south on Bonnie Cove, to west on Covina Boulevard, ending at Charter Oak High School parking lot. Follow volunteer directions to disband, exit or park. • Parade route is 1.3 miles. • Maintain a safe distance of no more/no less than 2 car lengths from the group in front of you. • Vehicles should have headlights off with just running lights on. Vehicles that do not have the ability to turn headlights off must cover headlights. • Restrooms are available at Charter Oak Park, Adult Education Center (20350 E. Cienega Avenue) and COHS Stadium.

Parking: • Parking will be limited. Be sure to follow all regular parking restrictions on streets and in neighborhoods. There will be no parking on the parade route. • Access to and from some parking areas will be limited but parking is available in the following areas until full: o COUSD District Service Center, 20240 E. Cienega Avenue, Covina, CA 91724 o Adult Education/ETC, 20350 E. Cienega Avenue, Covina, CA 91724 o Cedargrove Elementary, 1209 N. Glendora Avenue, Covina, CA 91724 • Again, it is imperative that you understand regular parking rules will be in place and access to and from lots will be limited. • CHARTER OAK PARK LOT IS VENDOR PARKING ONLY

Spectators, Holiday Festival, Fireworks: • Tell your family and friends to set chairs up along Mangrove, Cienega, Bonnie Cove, Covina Boulevard to view the parade. (Parade starts and ends in the Charter Oak High School parking lot.) • Browse the Holiday Festival and visit vendors at COHS following the parade! This year's festival features one of largest vendor festivals in the San Gabriel Valley with the most creative and interesting vendors! • Sit in the COHS Stadium bleachers to watch the fireworks display. (No set up on the field this year as we are putting in new turf!) Bleachers will be available for seating and viewing.
