Abstract: Data about the diversity of Pholiotina species known from the Western Caucasus is summarized in this paper. Detailed descriptions, drawings of microscopic features with some photographs of fruit bodies as well as data on ecology and distribution of species are given. Six species are reported based on personal collections, literature sources and herbarium material studied. Two of them are presented as new species for the studied area. Introduction

This study combined with the previously published data (Malysheva, 2011) is devoted to diversity and taxonomy of the genera and Pholiotina of the Western Caucasus territory. The information about diversity of Pholiotina species is rather scanty. Available sources of data are mainly regional papers and checklists where there are no detailed descriptions of macro- and microscopic features of species. Only four species were known in the territory before my study: Pholiotina intermedia (A.H.Sm.) Singer (Singer 1950), Pholiotina brunnea (Watling) Singer, Ph. vexans (P.D.Orton) Bon (Sopina 2001) and Ph. nemoralis (Harmaja) Bon (Sopina 2004). Some material concerning Pholiotina from the Western Caucasus and accompanied with well descriptions was included by R.Singer to his publication (Singer 1950). All previously mentioned specimens which I could examine are also included in this paper with addition notes, descriptions and illustrations. The available herbarium collections kept in the Mycological Herbarium of the Komarov Botanical Institute were also studied.
