CITY OF 2020 PUBLIC SERVICE GRANT PROPOSAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT

The Public Service Grant, previously Unspecified Local Option grant, is administered through the City of Pittsburgh Office of Management and Budget, Community Development Division. This grant is funded through the Federal Government’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Organizations have used this grant in the past to support residents that have low to moderate incomes through many different projects from senior programs to neighborhood beautification. Applications will be accepted by email for the first time this year.

Please read all instructions and submit this application with attachments. Grant applications are due by Friday, April 24, 2020 at 5:00 PM.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Organizations must:  Have 501(c)(3) non-profit tax status with o a Board of Directors o Written bylaws o Federal tax identification number  Have a mission that supports City of Pittsburgh residents  Demonstrate financial management capacity  Possess a nine-digit Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number  Have no outstanding financial liabilities with the City of Pittsburgh or demonstrate an approved payment plan

Eligible projects must:  benefit low to moderate income persons or neighborhoods  have a budget between $2,500 and $150,000

Attachment C: Most recently submitted IRS 990 form

Please note that in order for your organization’s proposal to be considered for funding, all sections of the application (including attachments) must be completed. Submit your application and attachments by email in a zip (compressed) folder to [email protected] on or before 5:00 p.m., Friday, April 24, 2020.

 Your zip folder name must be “PS 2020” followed by your organizations name, for example “PS 2020 United Way”.
