2009-2010 Annual Report The Northfield Bank Foundation was founded on November 7, 2007 when Northfield Bank converted to a public company.

The Foundation focuses its efforts on projects to support education, health and human services, Message from the youth programs, and Chairperson & Executive Director other types of community organizations The past two years have been filled with achievement for the Northfield Bank Foundation or civic-minded projects and the many worthy organizations we assist. that improve the quality of life around us. We have been privileged to significantly help our community through the funding of more than 94 different community projects in , Brooklyn and New Jersey. These organizations received a combined $1,085,738 in funding in 2009-2010.

The core mission of the Northfield Bank Foundation remains focused on supporting edu- cation, health care, and youth programs.

We have provided the resources to expand a local pre-school program, assisted commu- nity hospitals expand their emergency room services, supplied pedometers to local school children as part of a program promoting healthy lifestyles, and supported a technology upgrade at a Women’s Center to help fight late stage breast cancer.

The success of the Northfield Bank Foundation would not be possible without the support and dedication of our Board of Directors and Officers. We thank them for their ongoing enthusiasm, energy and professionalism.

As we look forward, we are excited about the opportunity to assist more organizations in their quest to better our communities.

The Northfield Bank Foundation awarded $15,000 to the Staten Island YMCA to support Notre Dame Academy in Staten Island received a $10,000 grant from the Northfield Bank Friday Night Teen Night. Foundation to purchase SMART Boards for three classrooms in their newly constructed Arts & Humanities Center. Teen Night is open to all Staten Island teens. Teen Night offers services such as, workshops on creative arts, anger management, conflict resolution, peer mediation, healthy eating, and decision-making while also providing prevention services to at-risk youth and teens.
