 Lincoln Street, George Washington to Clifton : This project will place a new asphalt surface on Lincoln Street from George Washington Boulevard to Clifton Avenue. District 2 (Tuttle)

 Kellogg, Greenwich and I-35 Interchanges: Kellogg will be improved to a six-lane freeway with an at Greenwich Road and new interchange connections to I-35 (KTA). The connections to I-35 will allow access for EB Kellogg to NB & SB I-35, and for SB I-35 to WB Kellogg. The project improvements include the following: Kellogg over Greenwich, Zelta, and I-35; interchange ramps to I-35; one-way frontage on the north and south sides of Kellogg; connection of 127th (south of Kellogg) to Zelta with a bridge over I-35; new traffic signals to replace existing signals at Greenwich, Zelta and the entrance to One Kellogg Place on Greenwich; ten-foot shared-use-path along Greenwich for pedestrians and bicyclists; aesthetic enhancements; waterline, sanitary sewer, and storm water improvements; and landscaping following construction.  Mt. Vernon Street, Broadway to Southeast Boulevard: This project will convert Mt. Vernon from a two-lane roadway to three-lane with on-street bike lanes. The project also replaces the undersized drainage system along the corridor. The intersections of Washington and Southeast Boulevard will be reconstructed. Traffic Impact: Washington is OPEN to traffic. Mt. Vernon Street is CLOSED between Mead Street and Washington. Traffic is detoured to Harry Street at Broadway and Hydraulic Avenue.  13th Street North, Tyler Road to Country Acres: This project will convert 13th Street, adjacent to Northwest High School, from the current four-lane configuration to a five-lane roadway. This project will include pavement widening, rehabilitation, and pavement markings to allow for the addition of the center left turn lane. Traffic Impact: West bound traffic is reduced to one lane in the area of construction.  13th Street North, West Street to McLean Boulevard: This project will perform pavement repairs in preparation of an asphalt overlay on 13th Street. Traffic Impact: Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction. The asphalt overlay is tentatively scheduled for late September.  Mt. Vernon, Hydraulic to I-135: This project will place a new asphalt surface on Mt. Vernon, from Hydraulic to I-135. Traffic Impact: Temporary lane closures will occur in the area of construction.  Harry, Grove to Erie Street: This project will place a new asphalt surface on Harry, from Grove to Harry Street. Traffic Impact: Temporary lane closures will occur in the area of construction. District 1 & District 6 (Johnson & Claycomb)

 17th Street North, from Broadway to I-135: This project will reconstruct 17th Street to a three-lane roadway with one through lane in each direction and a center two-way left turn lane. The intersections at Broadway and Mosley Street will be reconstructed to include left turn lanes in all directions, new traffic signals, and pedestrian enhancements. The project will construct on both sides of the street and provide a bike route. The project also includes drainage improvements and water main replacement. Traffic Impact: 17th Street is CLOSED between Broadway and Emporia Avenue. 17th Street traffic is detoured to 13th Street at Mosley Street and Broadway. Broadway is reduced to one lane in each direction. Left turns are prohibited at 17th Street and Broadway. Traffic will be required to use alternate routes to access the areas south of 17th Street between Broadway and Emporia Avenue.  Douglas Avenue, Meridian Avenue to Sheridan Street: This project will place a new asphalt surface on Douglas Avenue from Meridian Avenue to Sheridan Street.  I-235, Meridian to Broadway North – The Gold Project: The second phase of the reconstruction of the Wichita North Junction Project began on April 5. The northbound I-135 loop ramp will be replaced with a two-lane flyover ramp with direct access to southbound I-235 and westbound K-96. The southbound I-135 ramp to southbound I-235 will also be replaced. Additionally, the westbound K-254 ramp to southbound I-135 will be improved by extending the acceleration lane before drivers merge into I-135 traffic. Traffic Impact: An 11-foot width restriction on the two lanes of SB I-135, 53rd St. to south of the I-235 is in place for these realigned lanes. 50 mph work zone speed is in effect. KDOT’s Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) equipment relocation and additions will also be completed.  I-235, Meridian to Broadway North – The Green Project: The first phase leading up to the rebuild of the North Junction began on March 11, 2019. The project replaces aged pavement, adds auxiliary lanes, removes the Seneca Street Bridge over I-235, builds a new 40th Street from Meridian to Seneca, replaces bridges over the Little Ark River and Broadway, and improves the geometry of the Broadway interchange by rebuilding ramps. Traffic Impact: The two Broadway ramps to and from SB I-235 are CLOSED. Work zone speed limit is 50 mph for both directions of I-235. Northbound I-235 and eastbound K-96 are reduced to one lane as they merge east of Meridian. The N. Broadway On Ramp to NB I-235 is CLOSED. Old Lawrence Road under I-235 is CLOSED.  Bridge Repairs on NB I-135, U.S. 54 to 17th St.: There will be replacements, pavement patching, and a polymer overlay with striping on northbound I-135, from U.S. 54/400 (Kellogg) to 17th St. Traffic Impact: Lane and ramp closures have resumed. The right lane of NB I-135 will be closed from Central Ave. to 17th St. Central On Ramp, 8th/9th Exit, and 13th St. On Ramp are CLOSED.  Bridge Replacement on I-235 near S. West St.: This project will replace the two bridges over the railroad tracks west of West Street, both directions of I-235. Traffic Impact: I-235 has single lane traffic for both NB and SB I-235. Traffic will be single lane for each direction on the north side of the interstate until the project is completed in December. The West St. Exit from SB I-235 is CLOSED until the project is finished (December).  Bridge repairs on WB K-96 at Ridge Road :There will be expansion joint replacements, pavement patching, and a polymer overlay with striping on northbound I-135, from U.S. 54/400 (Kellogg) to 17th St. Traffic Impact: Two bridges are being repaired on WB K-96 at Ridge Road. Ridge Road entrance ramp is CLOSED until the project is complete. Single lane traffic for one mile will be necessary.  Bridge repairs on North Woodlawn Bridge over K-254: This bridge deck repair project is on 45th St. N. over K-96. Traffic Impact: The bridge will be closed to 45th St. traffic for approximately seven weeks beginning on Monday, Sept. 13.  Bridge repairs on 45th St. North over K-96: This bridge repair project is on N. Woodlawn over K-254. Traffic Impact: The Woodlawn On Ramp to WB K-254 plus the right lane of WB K-254 will be closed when the contractor is active. Traffic control measures will be removed each evening and there is no weekend work planned. 1. Fire Training Maintenance Facility Design Consultant Selection: Modified version of the original project is under review and in programming stage. 2. Gander Mountain Garage Repair: Narrative bid documents are in the completion stage and work will be bid as weather stabilizes this spring. 3. WPD East Police Station: GLMV was selected as design firm and entered into contract in December of ’19. Design/Development stage underway and will enter into a CMAR type agreement with construction team upon completion of 50% design. Due to complications with the original site selection, alternate sites are being considered and currently under evaluation. Once a new site is selected, project will move forward with the original CMAR concept planning and contract execution. 4. WPD SWAT Parking Structure: Parking structure for SWAT fleet vehicle storage. Due to budget constraints this project is being looked at with alternate sites and design. Design and progress will be updated to suit new location once chosen. 5. Linwood Park Shelter Re-build: Design is complete and bid documents to Finance for bid letting. Project is scheduled to bid early April.
