Welcome from the President of the French Underwater Sports Federation
The CMAS World Free Diving Championship, to be held in Mulhouse, France, from 25 to 31 July will be a great sporting event.
It is the first time that the City of Mulhouse has played host to such a major underwater sporting event.
Our team draws on its great experience of having organised championships in the past. We are happy and confident that we will welcome all of the participants under optimal conditions that will allow them to contribute fully to the success of this great event.
Now is the time for achievement, for sport and fun.

Competition – General information
The competition shall be held in accordance with CMAS rules and regulations and in compliance with set safety procedures.

The competition will be held at the Illberg Aquatic Center in Mulhouse at 51 Bd. Stoessel.

Presentation
Mulhouse :
The City of Mulhouse counts 113,000 residents and extends over 2,240 hectares. Nestled in the plains of Alsace, Mulhouse is a hub due to its location at the border of three countries : France, Germany and Switzerland. The greater urban area of Mulhouse is home to 267,759 residents, which is more than one-third of the population of Haut-Rhin and is the 20th largest urban community in France.
The Illberg Swimming Pool : The covered swimming pool is an ideal facility for sport swimmers. The aquatic center features an Olympic-sized pool of 50x21 metres, a training pool of 15x12.5 metres and a handicapped-accessible Jacuzzi.
Competition site – The Pool : The Illberg Aquatic Center is comprised of two indoor swimming pools (50 metres and 12 metred long) and two outdoor swimming pools (50 metred). The Eighth Annual CMAS World Indoor Freediving Championship will take place in the Illberg Olympic-sized indoor swimming pool for dynamic disciplines (DYN, DNF and speed) and in the smaller indoor pool for static activities. All of the captain’s meetings and briefings will be held in the Sports Center, located just a 5-minute walk from the swimming pools.
