Prelude: Four German Hymn Tunes Jan Bender

Welcome: Rev. Nancy Butcher and Rev. Judy Proctor

Call to Worship: inspired by Ephesians 1: 3-14 Leader: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world, People: who destined us for adoption as his children through Jesus Christ, Leader: : who has forgiven our sins according to the riches of his grace, People: and has made known to us the mystery of his will. Leader: This is our God! All: Let us worship God together!

Hymn: “O Christ, the Great Foundation” NCH - 387

Invocation and Lord’s Prayer (unison): Michael Saward O God our Father, we thank you that today you have called us to worship you and learn of you . You alone know our needs. Satisfy them with your unchanging love. In your presence may we find comfort in sorrow, guidance in perplexity, strength to meet temptation, grace to overcome the fascination of disobedience, and courage to face up to the hostility of this rebellious world. Above all, may we meet Jesus and go from our worship indwelt by his spirit. This we pray in the Name of the One who taught us to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “There is a beautiful single verse Shaker song, ‘Simple Gifts’ with repeating lyrics: ‘Tis the gift to be simple, tis' the gift to be free ‘Tis the gift to come down, where you ought to be And when we find ourselves in the place just right ‘Twill be in the valley of love and delight. When true simplicity is gain’d, to bow and to bend we shan’t be ashamed, To turn, turn will be our delight Till by turning, turning we come round right.” composed by Elder Joseph Brackett, Jr. (1848)
In this dance called life, what is God inviting you to do to “come round right? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
