Sealed Gemstones The Sealed Gemstone Collection explores the intersection of personal will and archetypal traits. The life journey of learning about oneself and our natural tendencies and then determining the path and constant realignment.
I was inspired by a set of glass seal stamps from the 19th centuries both visually and metaphorically. The wax seals represented your word, a promise... but seals were intended as guarantees for other people, a method of assurance. I then started to think that the promise was really with ourselves, not other people, and that the seal, the pact, was internal. That idea resulted in suspending symbols within the gemstones and essentially “sealing” them within.
