La Fase Intercontinentale inizierà il 17 giugno e si concluderà il 3 luglio. L’Italia, come di consueto, è inserita nel gruppo 1 che comprende tutte le migliori squadre del mondo. Le pool della fase eliminatoria Gruppo 1 Il Gruppo 1 sarà a dodici squadre e includerà le otto partecipanti del 2015 - Australia, Brasile, Iran, Italia, Polonia, Russia, Serbia e Stati Uniti -; la vincente del Gruppo 2 dello scorso anno - Francia - e le wild card Argentina, Belgio e Bulgaria.
