Uriah Duffy Leaves Whitesnake For Immediate Release Uriah Duy Leaves Whitesnake: Bass Player Fired for living up to last album title, "Good to be Bad" Oakland, CA (June 19, 2010) – Is “Being a rockstar” reason enough to leave a rock band? The recent departure of Uriah Duy from legendary rock band Whitesnake appears to stem from Duy being too good at the role of Whitesnake bad boy. Promoted to play the young “rockstar” role as the wild child of the established band, Duy’s ve years with the iconic group brought worldwide attention and fame to the youngest member of Whitesnake, whose charismatic nature and stage presence actually play second to his prowess with the electric bass. The attention garnered through Duy’s active life in the music industry has resulted in numerous requests for his skills as stage and studio bass player, musical director, and known Uriah Duy w/ Whitesnake for his magnetic draw. A member of Whitesnake since 2005, Duy continued to work on outside projects. Ocially parting from the band allows Duy to give focus to a range of projects including new bands The Memorials, BlackGates, ongoing work with renowned rapper Lyrics Born, The Jazz Maa, and his upcoming solo album for his own project, The Uriah Duy Band. Notable former members of Whitesnake include Steve Vai, Tommy Aldridge and Rudy Sarzo. The legendary Cryin’ in the Rain, Sofia, Bulgaria ‘08 band, fronted by David Coverdale, is known for such hits as “Here I Go Again” and “Is this Love”. Duy spent ve years with Whitesnake, recording an award winning studio album, “Good to Be Bad,” playing on the live release, "Live in the Shadow of the Blues", Duy & Coverdale performing over 200 live shows on three world tours and playing as headliners at major music festivals including the 2009 UK Download Festival (to an audience of 80,000).     Jon Lord June 9 1941 – July 16 2012 Founder member of Deep Purple, Jon Lord was born in Leicester. He began playing piano aged 6, studying classical music until leaving school at 17 to become a Solicitor’s clerk. Initially leaning towards the theatre, Jon moved to London in 1960 and trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama, winning a scholarship, and paying for food and lodgings by performing in pubs. In 1963 he broke away from the school with a group of teachers and other students to form the pioneering London Drama Centre. A year later, Jon “found himself“ in an R and B band called The Artwoods (fronted by Ronnie Wood’s brother, Art) where he remained until the summer of 1967. During this period, Jon became a much sought after session musician recording with the likes of Elton John, John Mayall, David Bowie, Jeff Beck and The Kinks (eg 'You Really Got Me'). In December 1967, Jon met guitarist Richie Blackmore and by early 1968 the pair had formed Deep Purple. The band would pioneer hard rock and go on to sell more than 100 million albums, play live to more than 10 million people, and were recognized in 1972 by The Guinness Book of World Records as “the loudest group in the world”. Deep Purple’s debut LP “Shades of Deep Purple” (1968) generated the American Top 5 smash hit “Hush”. In 1969, singer Ian Gillan and bassist Roger Glover joined and the band’s sound became heaver and more aggressive on “Deep Purple in Rock” (1970), where Jon developed a groundbreaking new way of amplifying the sound of the Hammond organ to match the distinctive sound of the electric guitar.

It is only the fourth signature amplifier that we have produced and I feel it is a great addition to this select range. I first met Randy when he came to the factory in January 1980. He had not long ago joined Ozzy Osbourne and they were working on their first album. He came here knowing exactly what he was looking for, he just needed to find the amplifier that was going to be capable of delivering the power, the tone, and the reliability that he wanted, but was also in keeping with the image that he was to be recognised by. Randy almost found everything he was searching for in a standard 1959 head, but the tone was not quite right. He spent some time with my Service Manager, explaining the slight difference he was looking for, and after a few trials we were able to fit a modification which made the subtle change to the standard tone of the 1959. Randy left the factory to proudly stand in front of his white Marshall stack for all of his hugely successful, but sadly too brief career with Ozzy Osbourne. In this time the legendary guitarist could be seen by thousands of fans, performing in front of his Marshall stack – a sight to behold and a triumphant assault on the ears. Our design team have spent many hours investigating the original Randy Rhoads amplifier, speaking to the Randy Rhoads family, talking to people who knew Randy and heard him play, and talking to the Service Manager who was at the factory when Randy came in and made the modification to the amplifier.

Following his gig with Sabbath Gillen briefly worked w/Ex Thin Lizzy/Whitesnake Guitarist: John Sykes in Blue Murder but eventually Gillen left Blue Murder and formed BadLands w/Ex Ozzy Osbourne/Ratt Guitarist: Jake E. Lee. Badlands released two albums before Gillen decided to leave because of friction that developed between Lee and Gillen. After Ray Gillen's death BADLANDS released a 3rd and final album called DUSK which was an album's worth of material of unreleased studio outakes.

Christer comes over sounding like Anders Eklund from House Of Shakira crossed with Mark Boals and ‘Arrival to Earth’ is the breathtaking album from South David Readman from Pink Cream 69, while the song itself Bend sensations PURE STAR MOVEMENT. PSM border on is maybe a little Axel Rudi Pell in style. The Europe meets modern melodic/progressive rock influences and is rich in Masterplan crispness of ‘Dead Or Alive’ is a good melodic, diversity and heartfelt musical passion. ‘Unstoppable’ is while ‘Human’ is a little tighter with a punchy chorus and stunning commercial modern rock in style, with the vocals solid guitars in the vein of Domain and PC69. ‘Ray Of Light’ is almost like Kip Winger in the high parts. Musically the song another catchy ditty, a faster paced song, a little Royal Hunt is progressive, modern progressive rock if you will.
