Windows 8 Installation Instructions for PC 2012 Students or Faculty/Staff

Windows 8 Installation Instructions for PC 2012 Students or Faculty/Staff

For MAK Activation (Students, Faculty, and Staff):

 1. Access network.software.vt.edu and using your VT PID and password.

 2. Select “ Software” from the list of software available and select 8 Enterprise 32-bit ISO or Microsoft Windows 8 Enterprise 64-bit ISO.

 3. Agree to the license agreement(s) and copy your “Windows 8 – MAK” number. This is your product key, write it down.

 4. Once booted into Windows, press together the Windows + R keys to open the Run window.

 5. Type “slui 3” (without quotes) and press Enter.

 6. In the resulting window that opens, enter your Windows 8 MAK product key from Step 3 and press Activate.

 7. Press Close to finish.
