DRAFT.

AN ORDINANCE FURTHER TO AMEND THE ADMINISTRATION OF EIISSIAN PROPERTIES ORDINANCE, 1926.

BE IT ENACTED by the High Commissioner for Palestine, with the advice of the Advisory Council thereof :—

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Administration of Rus• Short title. sian Properties (Amendment) Ordinance, 1938, and shall be read as one with the Administration of Russian Properties Ordinance, 1926, hereinafter referred to as the principal Ordinance. No. 31 of 1926.

2. Section 4, subsection (1), of the principal Ordinance, as Amendment of amended by section 2 of the Administration of Russian Properties section 4 of the principal Ordi• (Amendment) Ordinance, 1936, shall be further amended by the nance. addition of the following words at the end thereof :— No. 50 of 1936. "and further, with the approval of the High Commissioner, for the relief and support of Russian orthodox persons connected with the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission or the Palestine Orthodox Society or the dependants of such per• sons, whether resident in Palestine or elsewhere."

OBJECTS AND REASONS.

This Ordinance amends section 4 of the Administration of Russian Properties Ordinance, 1926, so as to enable the Administrator, with the approval of the High Commissioner, to provide funds for the support of destitute dependants of persons who have held office in the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission or the Palestine Ortho• dox Society, whether such dependants be resident in Palestine or elsewhere.

2. It is intended that no payment should be made under the new provision to any person except with the specific approval of the High Commissioner.
