Temporary Closure of Folly Hill, COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Folly Hill, Sydling St Nicolas from Norden Lane A37 crossroads Folly Hill East to Marrs Cross to Marrs Cross East to Road junction at Ford Sydling Water a distance of approximately 2175 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 23 May 2019 between 0900 and 1600 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 29 May 2019. The road will be open outside of these times and also over the weekend. Please note that the dates are a window of opportunity and the road may not be closed for the whole duration stated above. The closure is also weather dependant. Even though the dates above coincide, only one road will be closed at any one time. This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out surface dressing works. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffi c to travel around the closed sections.
