At the initial stage of the evaluation, Ms. Tosoth Kong, the ex-M&E officer of the project, was particularly helpful in providing me the full set of documents relevant for the evaluation and organizing the preliminary round of virtual consultations. After Ms. Tosoth Kong’s departure from the project, Ms. Kelsea Clingeleffer, M&E consultant at UNDP Cambodia, took over the coordination responsibility and rendered me necessary support including the mobilization of comments on the draft evaluation report. I would like to thank Mr. Nissay Sam, ex-project advisor, especially for giving me the time for a long interview over phone in the evening past dinner time as he could find no other suitable time having recently taken up a new job after the expiry of his contract with the project. Thanks also goes to Ms. Sonali Dayaratne, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative, for chairing the debrief meeting and providing valuable feedback on the preliminary evaluation findings and to Ms. Rany Pen, Head of UNDP Programs Unit, for her inputs at the debriefing as well as at the virtual meeting with the UNDP Cambodia team. At the UNDP Regional Hub for Asia and the Pacific, I would like to thank Mr. Tashi Dorji, Regional Technical Advisor, for his insights on the broader context of the project evaluation as well as the overall management and implementation of the project at the outset of the evaluation, and to Mr. Bipin Pokharel, Ecosystems and Biodiversity Specialist, and Ms. Nittaya Saengow, Regional Program Associate, for reviewing the draft evaluation report and providing extensive comments. I would also like to acknowledge all others – Ms. Ratana Norng, Mr. Sovanny Chhum, Ms. Kelsea Clingeleffer and Mr. Markus Hellborg, Junior Professional Consultant at UNDP Cambodia – who reviewed the draft evaluation report and provided comments. Within the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, I extend my thanks to the Project Director, His Excellency Dr. Hean Vanhan, Secretary of State, and the Project Manager, His Excellency Dr. Pyseth Meas, Under Secretary of State, for sharing their candid views and experiences since the initial design of the project and their perspectives on the project in relation to the environmental challenges in Cambodia and the national commitment to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification.
