In many ways, James Bond represents the antithesis of many values held by the Quire and other LGBT groups. The movies are often misogynistic, chauvinistic, A C K N O W L E D G M E N T S gratuitously violent, and occasionally homophobic. But the music used in those The Quire wishes to thank… movies was sung by artists dear to the LGBT community -- among them great Michael Schnack, for musical leadership singers like Shirley Bassey, Sheena Easton, Rita Coolidge, Tina Turner, , Roberta Flack, Dionne Warwick, , Paul McCartney, and Duran Sarah Zietlow, for accompanying us this evening Duran -- and the campiness of many of the lyrics (and character names!) makes Audra M. King, for organizational assistance them fair game. The Quire Board (Tara Beck, Nancy Bell, John Crosheck, Beth Daly, Kristin DeMoss- Schloemer, Mark Goldfarb, John Harper, Pam Jarvis, and Emily Ware) for year-round So I wish you all an enjoyable evening in honor of James Bond, John Steed, Emma organization Peel, Dick Tracy, and all their ilk. P R O G R A M Members of The Quire attended our first GALA Choral Festival in July of 2000 in The ‘James Bond’ Theme Monty Norman Goldfinger , and San Jose – more than 5000 singers made that festival the largest gay and lesbian The Quire choral festival to that point. Since that first Festival performance, members of The Quire have attended Festivals in 2004 (Montréal) and 2008 (Miami). The The Windmills of Your Mind , Marie Raven – Jeffrey Allen Mead, piano opportunity to be a part of GALA Chorus Festivals has been treasured by members of The Quire and we look forward to attending the 2012 Festival in Denver.
