Estamos hablando de la bicicleta, un medio de locomoción con gran arraigo entre la población y cada vez más utilizado por los visitantes. Un territorio suave y ondulado, sin grandes desnive- les tanto en el interior como en la mayor parte del litoral, ofrece un buen número de rutas para descubrir la Isla sobre ruedas. Como consecuencia del crecimiento de esa afición en el seno de la sociedad menorquina nació un evento, no competitivo, como la Volta a Menorca en BTT, que este año, durante el puente de El Pilar, celebra- rá ya su edición número 15. Un encuentro que goza de una gran respuesta, con una participación que ronda el medio millar de ciclistas, una buena parte de ellos llegados desde fuera de Menorca. El evento recorre tramos del Camí de Cavalls pero se centra también en reivindicar las rutas de interior a través de los caminos rurales y descubrir la cara menos conocida de la Isla. Quienes estén buscando retos mayores sobre dos ruedas, el gran desafío para cualquier ciclista en la Isla es coronar su cima, Monte Toro. Desde los puntos más altos de la ciudad se puede observar la enorme for- taleza de La Mola que domina la entrada en la costa norte del puerto de Maó.
