Mapping tourist accommodation in the Balearics might help spatially explain the important socio-spatial transformation of a small archipelago in the Western Mediterranean. This paper analyses the diffusion of tourist accommodations as the main vehicle for urbanization since the 1950s. The tourism production of space has gone in parallel to economic cycles with particular urban expressions related to the different regimes of accumulation. Over time, as access to sea, air, and road transport, availability of investment capital, and institutional support has changed, so too have the directions of urban tourism development in the islands. Gunter Demnig will install 14 Stolpersteine in Palma de Mallorca on 16th December 2018. He will also place the first of 20 Remembrance Stones in Palma and several other munici- paliFes (including Inca, Soller and Esporles) on 16th, 17th and 18th December. On 19th De- cember, he will lay three further Stolpersteine in Ciutadella de Menorca. The Stolpersteine will be placed for Republicans who were killed by the Nazis in Mau- thausen, Gusen or other camps in Austria. Gunter Demnig has already placed Stolpersteine in Barcelona and several places. Next year, he is due to place the first in the Spanish capital Madrid, as well as in Valencia and several more in Catalunya. Stolpersteine are placed for all vicFms of the Nazis from 1933 to 1945.     Les mancomunitats a Mallorca Francisco González Paredes Les mancomunitats a Mallorca Presentació Seguint la voluntat expressa de donar a conèixer i difondre els estudis que desenvolupa l’Observatori de Polítiques Locals (OPL), us presentam el treball elaborat per Francisco González, que pretén analitzar i estudiar la realitat present i les característiques del funcionament de les mancomunitats a Mallorca. Aquest estudi considera les dades quantitatives i diverses metodologies qualitatives de treballs sociològics, que ens ajudaran a tenir una visió de conjunt del que fan les mancomunitats de muni- cipis a Mallorca, i de com les viuen i analitzen els principals protagonistes del seu funcionament. La mancomunitat pot ser entesa o viscuda des de molts angles. En sentit jurídic, la mancomunitat fa referència a l'associació lliure de municipis, que creen una entitat local superior. Els municipis asso- ciats deleguen part de les funcions o competències que la llei els atribueix, amb l’objectiu de prestar un servei conjuntament per a tots els membres. Les mancomunitats gaudeixen de personalitat jurí- dica pròpia per al compliment dels seus fins, i poden existir sense límit de temps o ser creades úni- cament per a un temps determinat i per a la realització d'una activitat concreta o més d’una. Un dels principals motius del naixement de les mancomunitats és fer possible la implantació d’al- guns serveis que, de manera individual, els pobles que la integren no poden assumir. D’aquesta manera, la mancomunitat té un sentit rellevant a l’hora de parlar de la gestió i el desenvolupa- ment de serveis i polítiques en municipis «petits».
