H.W. BODEWITZ, born in 1939, studied and Indology at the State University of Utrecht. He taught at the State Universities of Utrecht and Leiden and obtained his doctorate from the State University of Utrecht in 1973. He is professor of Sanskrit in the State University of Utrecht since 1976. His address is: Stolberglaan 29, 3583 XL Utrecht, The Netherlands.

K.W. BOLLE, born in 1927, studied Theology in Leiden, History of Religions and Sanskrit in the and the University of Madras. He obtained a Ph.D. in History of Religions in Chicago in 1961. He taught at the University of Chicago, Northern Illinois University, Brown University, and is since 1973 professor of History in the University of California, Los Angeles, where he also chairs the Interdepartmental Study of Religion. J. GONDA, born in 1905, studied classical philology and Sanskrit at the University of Utrecht (Litt. D. 1929), and Indonesian languages at the University of Leiden. T. GOUDRIAAN, born in 1939, studied Indology, classical philology and history at the State University of Utrecht. He obtained his doctorate in Indology in 1965. Since then he has served as a member of staff of the Institute of Oriental Languages at Utrecht, teaching Sanskrit, Pali and the History of . His main field of research is religious (especially Tantric) literature in Sanskrit from South and Southeast Asia. Prajnaparamita,N-- - Abhidharma and Vinaya at Loseling (Blo gsal glin) College in the monastic university of Drepung ('Bras spuns) near Lhasa. After his escape from Tibet in 1959 he continued his studies in Dalhousie in India. In Europe he taught Buddhist religion and Tibetan at the Pestalozzi Children's village at Wahlwies in Germany, worked as a research scholar at the Leiden Museum of Ethnology and is now employed in the electricity industry in Switzerland. R. KLOPPENBORG, born in 1945, studied Indology and Buddhist Studies at the universities of Utrecht and Leiden. She obtained her doctorate from the university of Utrecht in 1974. Since 1970 she is a member of the staff of the Department of the History of Religions of the State University of Utrecht and since 1979 also a member of the staff of the Institute of Indian Languages of the State University of Groningen.
