“While my route incorporated popular tourist destinations such as Montreux – Interlaken – Lucerne, I could not help but get excited about new, unfamiliar sights along the way: Gland, a small village above Lake Geneva, stunning views of soft rolling mountain pastures in the Gruyeres – Pays-d’Enhaut region, a pit stop at a small local bar/restaurant in Beatenberg overlooking Lake Thun, a car ferry from Gersau to Beckenried across Lake Lucerne. These were all a revelation to an avid public transport user such as myself. Armed with my Grand Tour map and guidebook and helped by the many Grand Tour signposts along the way, it was much easier than anticipated. A Grand Tour by electric car is now the next challenge on my ‘Switzerland bucket list’!”
