The "art" structures that were built. Unless they were explained to you what the stand for, no one 709. would know they were in honor of the railroad. 14. In thinking about navigating to Old Town Keller and browsing its businesses, what types of Full existing signage do you nd most useful? What would you like to see changed or added as Response part of this project?
1. Correctional signage with arrows View Response
2. Use the format Roanoke has done with Oak Street. View Response
3. 123456 View Response
4. Na View Response
5. I don't notice any signage View Response
6. Easier to see signs esp if driving trying to nd a place View Response
7. No change View Response
8. Can't think of anything View Response
9. Not sure. View Response
10. More signage at each street indicating all the businesses View Response
11. No opinion View Response
12. idk View Response
13. Increased walkability View Response
14. I think the current labels are just ne. View Response
15. Consistent signage that is incorporated with updated landscaping. Challenge is how to do so. The View Response semis on 377 are so close to the sidewalks and it makes it uncomfortable to walk along there.
Cannot recall seeing much in the way of historical ages documented on the buildings - that would 16. be interesting along with plaques/stories. Pedestrian crossings will need clear signs. The signs that View Response allow pedestrians to push a button/ ash lights at oncoming cars is very good - like the one on Bear Creek Parkway. http://10.selectsurvey.net/CityOfKeller/ResultsText.aspx?ItemID=3137&ItemNumber=14&SurveyID=n2LH8n2&Type=Text&ItemTypeID=6 1/35 6/29/2018 SelectSurvey.NET v5 No complaints with any business other than The Pecan. I cannot begin to imagine how many people have decided to drive through Keller and continue on to Roanoke and Alliance for dining and entertainment. Regardless of how much money is spent on beautifying and making the 17. surrounding businesses accessible, the charm of Old Town Keller is severely diminished by having View Response a junkyward right smack in the middle. Even Fred Sanford would be horri ed by that mess! It looks like a bulk trash dropo location in an otherwise charming and lovely small town! Maybe the city could build a wall around it!
18. Signs on the business fronts should be more readable, Normal street signs are ne for the streets, View Response park should have a sign facing the street and shaded outdoor seating.
19. Clear display of business and what it o ers and where it is. View Response
20. Detailed signs showing public walking areas which are safe View Response
21. A free map available at shops/restaurants View Response
22. The newest signage that is clear, simple, modern and cohesive is great. Personally, I prefer a View Response Southlake signage look over a "country" look.
23. I am not familiar with any signage. View Response
24. signs that are lower or on the windows of the establishment. View Response
Sometimes it is confusing whether the doors along 377 are the "front" door or if you have to go 25. around to the other side of the building. I would like better signage to know what is there that is View Response not visible by driving by. Make sure Google Maps lists every store/restaurant etc. Google Maps is how I search for EVERYTHING.
26. Signs like in southlake View Response
27. Signs at the street intersections along 377 saying what businesses are down each street. View Response
28. Stree signs View Response
I'd like to see more OPEN SPACE and put a big signage of Keller there. Maybe big fountain, art 29. statues. Then put more famous restaurant there. Be a kid friendly place. Last but not the least, View Response landscape with owers, public art, some attractions, farmer market every weekend, etc.
30. Clear, easy to read, consistent type, and possibly illuminated at night View Response
31. not sure, but uniform, whatever the architectural design comes to be. View Response
32. not sure View Response
33. Maybe perhaps a more pronounced sign (with landscaping and lighting) at the start and end of Old View Response Town
34. not sure View Response
35. Haven't been aware of any signage! View Response
36. Better signage at street ends View Response
37. The old town way nding signs are good but too small to be super e ective. View Response
38. building signage View Response
39. Street signs View Response
40. signage is important; however, too much signage can appear tasteless. View Response

42. I think the signage is adequate. View Response
Driving on 377 itself, it's more useful to have signs that stick out a bit, versus the name of the 43. business being at against the front of the building. That way you can see ahead a bit and more View Response easily nd the right place to turn in for the business you're looking for.
44. none View Response
45. pedestrian level signs in front of businesses. most of my way nding is done with a mobile phone View Response map feature
46. ? View Response
47. Way nding signage View Response
Signs whose backgrounds are complimentary but don’t blend in TOO much, so even if looking from 48. car you can clearly read them (even at night). Names that pop - either in color or actually raised View Response lettering. Lighting is a plus if more night time activity will be going on. Restaurant signage on the Phase I side is pretty good!
49. Hard to nd 8 Mile, had to drive around. Would be good to have a sign that has all the business View Response names on it along with an arrow of where to nd it.
50. street signs made larger, signage for each business displayed clearly on Main Street side of View Response buildings, clear signage for parking and type of parking
51. Larger street signs View Response
52. Directory View Response
53. Signage on the enterance gateway would be most useful. This would be easiest as I travel down View Response 377, as it is sometimes hard to see businesses on the interior of old town.
54. More parking signs and signs to direct to restaurants and retail. Similar to what we see near View Response Southlake Town Center on 1709.
55. ow tra c better to stop light for that tra c that needs to cross lane of tra c on 377. also, ow View Response tra c to center-lane locations better able to make turns o 377.
56. Better street signs - need more signage illustrating hike/bike trail locations View Response

68. more street level signage that is lit up at night. I drive by that area all the time and have no clue View Response what is in there.

I live her and know where everything is, but I can tell other people are not sure where to turn in, o 103. 377. It would also be VERY helpful if cars were not traveling so fast in that section (between Keller View Response Pkwy and Bear Creek Pkwy.) Sometimes it’s like taking your life in your hands just trying to pull onto 377
104. more restaurants View Response
Tear it down and put up new, unless you make the area into an area with a speci c theme, like the 105. early 1900 and create a theme park atmosphere with merchants and their employees dressed in View Response early 1900, old 1900 cars and artifacts.
106. I like the signs listing the businesses. Signage would be needed on the hike/bike trails. View Response
107. It's hard to read the signs that have a lot of businesses listed on them - the beige ones with green View Response letters (I think) I think just road signs are the best

What about signs that give direction to where the restaurants are by name such as the right turn or 115. left turn for people not familiar with this area? Similar to the blue signs along the interstates except View Response for Texas.
116. Development of 2 & 3 story o ce buildings with some space for restaurants. View Response
117. Easy access View Response
118. Why spend money on any of this unless you have access? You have only so much room. Let it go. View Response Most people here could care less.
119. Can't think of anything right now. View Response
120. A sign with all the restaurants/bars/shos on one sign for each area? View Response
Better signage...matching on both sides of 377 ...that says what is on each street. A vintage type 121. sign pointing in the direction...like you on old crossroads or town centers. The street name could View Response be at the top & businesses at the bottom.
122. Access to Sams Parking & east side of 377 lot via a pedestrian tunnel or bridge View Response http://10.selectsurvey.net/CityOfKeller/ResultsText.aspx?ItemID=3137&ItemNumber=14&SurveyID=n2LH8n2&Type=Text&ItemTypeID=6 5/35 6/29/2018 SelectSurvey.NET v5
I think that unique and very recognizable "Old Town Keller" signage would be good. Custom lamps. 123. Wider sidewalks. Maybe we could divert 1709 east tra c earlier to lessen tra c through Old Town View Response Keller. Things that make it a "cozy" interesting place to walk and explore is where we should be headed.
124. Make street signs larger & more visable View Response
125. I honestly don’t pay attention. Mostly know my way around since I grew up here View Response
126. Looks ok View Response
127. Nothing, it's horrible trying to get to anything on the east side of 377. The other side really needs to View Response be developed more.

137. No preference View Response
Signage is a mish-mash. There needs to be consistent signage controls. The road signs are great, the business signs are kind of "junky" in some cases. (Best example is the lunatic chalkboard right 138. wing rants at the antique/junk store. Big turn o !) The real problem is not being able to cross that View Response road to visit both sides without getting killed on 377. And the empty bank building on the corder...why can't that get a lease-holder. Old Town seems tired and just does not feel like a fun place to hang out. See...Roanoke and Grapevine for contrast!

Signs for small shops, boutiques, and restaurants on HWY 377 are pretty obvious when driving by. 144. Also, the side streets and alleys need su cient sidewalks for pedestrians.
Old town Keller has a lot of potential, but trying to build it around 377 isn’t a good idea because it is loud and dangerous to be near when walking or attempting to ride a bike. Roanoke has done a 145. great job of moving all of the stores and restaurants east of 377 and has created a cozy small town View Response feel. I think if the was a way to build up away from 377 and 1709 and create that cozy feel, Old Town Keller could draw a good customer base. Perhaps even have tunnels or bridges from one area to the other or simply designate a large old town area and make it the New Old Town Keller.

Signage that uses clear fonts and large text size are the most useful because they are easy to see. If 772. there is any way to get some cohesion or unity either in size or type of signage, it's easier to see View Response everything instead of just what is standing out.
773. Better signage on front of buildings, a directory would be nice. The o ensive alt-right-wing signage View Response from the antique place is embarrassing.

779. I really like the way nding signs at the ends of the streets that indicate which businesses are on View Response them
Honestly, with the plethora of GPS/Nav apps available, I don't really rely on signage. To me, OTK 780. already "feels" cluttered. I would suggest an evaluation of what might be considered irrelevant or View Response redundant signage and remove as much as possible. Especially on 377. So many motorists disregard the speed limit so there isn't much time to read signage while driving.
781. nothing comes to mind View Response
782. Changed -ugly messages left on chalk board outside antique shop View Response
783. I think most of the signage is good as it it. View Response
The eyesore that is the Pecan antique/junk lot needs to be cleaned up! The nice street signs with 784. arrows and business names pale in comparison to the abundance of political and religious View Response extremism displayed daily on the Pecan’s MANY signs—which may be chalkboards, but are permanently displayed in violation of city code.
785. I don’t really care about signage other than prohibiting the hateful signage outside the View Response antique/junk store on 377

There isn’t any signage. It’s a heavy tra cked area with shitty, junky buildings and businesses on the east side of 377 and a seemingly random mix of one story buildings on the west side. It’s a 800. actually a fucking embarrassment. And people like my wife and I wouldn’t ever visit the pawn shop View Response or the junk store with shit strewn all over the parking lot. Old Town Keller Phase II Survey
Respondents: 1368 Status: Closed
Launched 03/05/2018 Closed Date: 05/08/2018 Date:
27. Please share any other comments or suggestions you have for us as we plan improvements Full for Old Town Keller Phase II. Response
Keller should take a page from Roanoke. Develop Elm Street like Oak Street. Building parking lots, 1. sidewalks, and build the infrastructure. The businesses will come and the city will bene t from the View Response tax dollars. Many current businesses in old town take in little money and look like junk yards or yard sales. Bad for business and development.
Several of the Phase I improvements were essential. Several of the improvements were nice; but, not essential. All those improvements were costly. I'd like to see improvements in Phase II that are essential and a select few that are nice. Even though residential/commercial property valuations 2. are currently high, City Council should use any extra incoming tax dollars wisely. Might be time for View Response City Council to start focusing on paying down some outstanding debt. These "good" times won't last forever and when they depart, discretionary consumer spending in Old Town Keller will also depart. Debt reduction is a safe investment.
3. more dining that isn't burgers would be great! View Response
4. Thanks for the survey. View Response
5. Something should be done about the speeding tra c!! View Response
The time and money spent on 'improving' Old Town Keller was a tremendous waste. Why spend so much e ort on a small area squeezed between a very busy (and loud) roadway and railroad track? 6. I take my family to Roanoke, Southlake, Fort Worth and even Argyle for entertainment/food before View Response going to Old Town Keller. Stop 'improving' the old town area unless you can change 377 and the railroad tra c pattern. Spend time and funds in the Town Center area of Keller.
7. Love the giant chess board, would love to see more interactive features throughout as well as View Response unique dining to bring people outside of Keller into our community to spend money.
Old Town Keller is one aspect of our city. I wish the city had spent more time and thoughtful 8. planning on developing Keller Blvd and 377. Compared to Southlake, Colleyville, and North View Response Richland Hills, the main streets in Keller look junky.
Realizing that many of the buildings are privately owned, it would be really nice if some time were 9. taken to improve some of the buildings facing 377. Many have had smaller businesses in them, but View Response they just don't seem to get enough tra c and close. Perhaps an incentive of some sort would help these businesses out? Same could be said of some of the private homes.
10. Continue the good work and please don't approve any more chicken fast food establishments. View Response
Don't waste funds on overhead entryway structures as installed on the West side of Main St, they were not well thought out. If any are installed, this time think about and make sure they don't 11. interfere with visibility of stop signs and oncoming tra c, both auto and pedestrian. View Response http://10.selectsurvey.net/CityOfKeller/ResultsText.aspx?ItemID=3163&ItemNumber=27&SurveyID=n2LH8n2&Type=Text&ItemTypeID=6 1/24 6/29/2018 SelectSurvey.NET v5
If you are going to do more events then you need to create a location especially for the crowds and parking.
I would love to see something like Roanoke or Grapevine done here - easy and safe pedestrian 12. walking and crossing areas with lots of dining and shopping options. The main priority should be View Response pedestrian safety.
Increasing livability is great, thank you! As it stands now, our family goes to Southlake for everything. We rarely think to go to Old Town Keller because there seems to be nothing there for us. We would love to change that! We prefer nice dining, healthier dining options, varied dining 13. options, places to walk for exercise, nice shopping, places for date nights, places for family outings, View Response etc. Currently, I feel you need to appreciate unhealthy food, alcohol, or farming style or equipment to enjoy Old Town Keller. It seems geared to one type of person and doesn't speak to a wide range of people.
14. Develop an outdoor area where festivals & entertainment can be held on a semi-regular basis View Response without having to close down streets like they do for the craw sh festival.
I think it's better to have more attractions and more kids friendly thing around the old town Keller. 15. I personally would love to see more open space as a result maybe some building has to be torn View Response down to make more open space. I dont know what the city rule. It seems boring now. Because there is no variety of restaurants (more international food)
In considering changes to Old Town think in terms of creating a destination, a place where 16. residents of all ages want to come, relax and enjoy the surroundings without ingesting fumes from View Response the nearby tra c. Make the area easily accessible, maybe consider a fountain that's lit at night with less concrete and hard surface, and more grass, comfortable seating areas and landscaping.
17. More green space View Response
Create a better connection across 377 and keep buildings close to street. Do string lighting and 18. other things that make it fun and funky. Grapevine has done well with their Main Street. Keller can View Response do the same. Get rid of the old, underutilized buildings and land owners that don't want to reinvest. They've had their day. It's time to do something cool in Old Town.
19. You should add a sit-down chicken place, just to watch people's heads explode. Lol. View Response
20. none View Response
21. Provide mid-block pedestrian connectivity in the Old Town on the east side of Main Street - even if View Response it means buying private property to make it happen
Streets are in terrible shape. City needs to promote local businesses in Old Town so that people 22. know they are there. The houses that are in disrepair should be cited on code violations. As long as View Response they look so bad, there will be less desire for people to go there.
23. Very excited about what has been done and will be done going forward. It’s very inviting and nice View Response to be able to Keep It In Keller more!
It's looking good, doesn't need much more improvement. Wasting a lot of money on it won't make 24. more people come. It's the quality of the restaurants and shops that will make people want to View Response come.
25. no other comments View Response
26. Botanical or desert cactus garden View Response
Do what Grapevine does which has ashing lights embedded in street and speed bumps to better protect pedestrians from drivers if not going to put in a pedestrian bridge (which could be very iconic for Keller).
27. Also, if you want people to stop by on way to/from Sports Park, why don't you add more sports like View Response some tennis courts? It's ridiculous that Keller has ZERO public courts-- the Birch is too expensive for most, and KISD could close o all access to their courts at any time they so choose (like almost all neighboring ISDs so). Before putting in a freaking tunnel to help private businesses, put in a few more public use facilities like tennis courts!
Live music and outdoor music events are a nuisance in evening time. I live 2 miles away, and I still 28. can hear outdoor bands playing at night - That's a NO - NO. Any live entertainment needs to be View Response con ned to indoor areas that prevent loud music from being heard outside.
Our main concern is the city investing $$$ into this project when some of the streets in Keller need http://10.selectsurvey.net/CityOfKeller/ResultsText.aspx?ItemID=3163&ItemNumber=27&SurveyID=n2LH8n2&Type=Text&ItemTypeID=6 2/24 6/29/2018 SelectSurvey.NET v5 Our main concern is the city investing $$$ into this project, when some of the streets in Keller need 29. to be redone and/or repaired! This part is absolutely ridiculous. Just drive down Whitney between View Response Bear Creek Parkway and North Tarrant. That road is horrible and needs an overhaul. We would rather spend $$$ on roads to be improved and xed! Thanks
30. not to compare us to Roanoke or Kemah but they have great small town feel with great restaurants View Response and shops.
31. We need for this area to be smoke free. Why expose our citizens to unneeded health hazards? This View Response is one of the main reasons we go to other cities for entertainment and dining
32. Pedestrian cut-throughs between the east-west streets do could walk from street to street without View Response having to go to the corner.
Need an all encompassing plan. However, since the plan for Keller Town Center never materialized as envisioned, and apartments ended up build where commercial and retail establishments were planned, it's doubtful if the city will really invest in old town. Keller is surrounded by Walmart's and 33. since Keller never wanted a Walmart, which would have been a signi cant income stream for the View Response city, it's questionable if the a plan to further develop Old Town will be political or for the bene t of the citizens. Therefore, I'd rather see the investment be private and the city money spent on xing infrastructure like a few of the roads that are virtually crumbling under tra c.

39. How about developing the rest of the business areas of Keller. You have done enough in Old Town View Response Keller. Stop bending to political capital.
40. n View Response
Roanoke had a good plan of improvement. It gives you a feel of o the beaten path, mainly 41. because it’s located away from the busy 377 hwy. Pedestrian strolling is encouraged and allows for View Response the small town feel.
It would be nice to encourage more merchants to come to old town to draw people there for 42. necessities or regular purchases. Currently, it is mostly knick-knack type of things that you buy View Response once few couple of years.
43. More HIGH end restaurants like Texas Bleu View Response
44. Me and my family would like to see more vegetarian friendly dining options (ex Yard House, View Response Hopdoddy). We also would like more user-friendly recycling to be available.
45. More restaurants/entertainment View Response
I do not want old town east to look the same as it is 10 years from know .old police care , junk out 46. on the street called antiques. I want he entry way into keller from the south west to be as View Response appealing as on the east side of keller.
47. Seems like Keller is behind Roanoke and Southlake in restaurants View Response
My vote is for easy walking/wide sidewalks. Also, I would spend hours at the town center (instead 48. of Southlake or downtown grapevine) if there were options that lent themselves to this (shopping, View Response dining, dessert, entertainment areas). I feel like the town center is weighted toward o ce-type businesses that put pedestrian-friendly places too far apart. Thanks.
49. I did not read anything about the drainage issues on Elm Street being addressed. This needs some View Response attention.
50. Old town is not for kids. How about developing the park area along the main street going east? All View Response new development. http://10.selectsurvey.net/CityOfKeller/ResultsText.aspx?ItemID=3163&ItemNumber=27&SurveyID=n2LH8n2&Type=Text&ItemTypeID=6 3/24 6/29/2018 SelectSurvey.NET v5

I would love to see more out door patio family friends areas with out door games, playgrounds 52. close for adults to enjoy beverages and food that are also dog friendly. Something like Press Cafe View Response at Clear fork in Fort worth.
I would not want to see any public art that is bought with taxpayer funds. It is normally “way out there” art (if you can call it that) and most people dislike or don’t understand. Taxpayer funds could be better spent on the amenities needed such as parking, covered walkways, 377 crossings, etc. If you’d like to designate an area for art display, maybe in the park or around parking areas, where local artists could show their art on a rotating basis would be a nice thing for the many local artists I’m sure we have. Maybe covered walkways from the parking areas could have locking display 53. cases artists where could put items in and even use it as a selling method for their art. They could View Response possibly be rented, or leased on a commission basis if they sell their art. Each artist could have an ID # & contract that would be used to contact a city o ce (or wherever) about the sale so it could be tracked and commissions would be paid. Sculptures could be displayed in some areas along the same criteria.
Another restaurant along the type of Texas Bleu would be nice, too. More specialty type, unique stores would be great. Kid/family type entertainment on weekends.
I think that long term plans should be for Old Town Keller to be a destination place that you 54. wander around on weekends and evenings. We should pattern it after other successful "town View Response centers". It is a great spot and I think that it is coming along really well.
More toddler fun stu , also maybe a macalisters (forgive my spelling and grammar) and rehouse 55. subs. I hate going to alliance, and southlake no one can’t drive haha. Also better parking, boutique View Response shopping, maybe even a classic book store.. just NOT more o ce spaces for drs., insurance or even banks or gas stations.. or maybe just stop building
56. More sit down restaurants View Response
57. Tra c really needs to be diverted or the other side of 377 be developed more. View Response
58. Need to bring good restaurants to attract people snd bring revenue to Keller View Response
59. the abandoned bank on the corner of 377 & keller parkway would be a great spot for a resturaunt. View Response
60. I feel Old Town Keller is hindered by the tra c congestion on 377. Easing the congestion will go a View Response long way to increasing activity in Old Town Keller.
61. What about a Jazz festival every year and jazz nights at local co ee shops, businesses, etc.? View Response
62. More outdoor entertainment/patio-type spaces please! More boutique-type retail please! A park View Response addition would be nice. Get us across 377 safely!
63. Roanoke has had success by not placing restaurants on 377. Use the streets o of 377 to create View Response similar restaurant and retail businesses.
64. none View Response
We don’t go down to the area at night because of the biker bar atmosphere. Needs more lunch 65. style places to meet at with easy access to the shops around it. Needs more landscaping to block View Response the train. The improvements that have been done to phase 1 were very well done.
I have lived in Keller for 26 years. I enjoy attending the events as an individual. I’ve started selling 66. jewelry to supplement my income. I want to attend as a vendor but the vendor fees are way View Response overpriced. It the fees can’t be lower it would be nice to receive a Keller resident discount.
67. I’d be happy to assist in further development of this proposal. Please let the residents know how View Response we can assist.
I live near by and would like noise kept to a minimum. We can still hear Bronson Rock. It has e ected our quality of life. The tra c on 377 limits the attractiveness of heading out to Old Towne. 68. Maybe an underground tunnel would make it more appealing. Tra c in general is so bad now we View Response tend to avoid leaving home in the evening unless we head opposite of tra c and go towards Southlake.
Clean up all the outside of the buildings. Paint colors, signs, etc. Some of the buildings (the jewelry place comes to mind rst) look very run down and old, and not in a shabby chic cute way. Need 69. more restaurants, upscale entertainment (not biker bar type or a pub), just some decent places for View Response http://10.selectsurvey.net/CityOfKeller/ResultsText.aspx?ItemID=3163&ItemNumber=27&SurveyID=n2LH8n2&Type=Text&ItemTypeID=6 4/24 6/29/2018 SelectSurvey.NET v5
me and my husband to have a date night without having to drive all the way to southlake. A wine or martini bar would be nice.
Please consider adding green spaces along trails and pollinator-friendly Texas native plants. Also, a signature restaurant that is housed in a railroad car would bring in tons of visitors and townies. There is one in Heavener Oklahoma that is quite successful! It’s called Southern Belle. Dining 70. options like this bring in lots of curious shoppers and if the food is consistently good it could be a View Response big draw. People would come for the dining experience and sty to shop (if the shops are of good quality). Our family is planning a trip during spring break to Oklahoma. We found the Southern Belle train car restaurant and we’re planning our day around this dining experience!
71. We're going to need signi cant retail improvements (not old houses) in order for OTK to be View Response successful on the East side of 377.
Add "art stations" for taking pictures. Use the train, and walls that are blank on restaurants. Add a more connected feel so there is an area that has shopping of dessert items, candy store, lawn/gazebo area for events involving shutting o the street and having "Keller Walks", add a 72. couple destination restaurants that are more upscale. Connect the area with walking across 377. View Response Place parking in two areas - one kind of where Carroll Watkins is, but add bridge to cross. Place another south of the shopping and restaurant area. Rather than look so much to Southlake, look at Grapevine for help.

The community area for the kids baseball eld are horrible! KYA should give plenty of insight to 74. how far behind the development of these elds are. There are no great playgrounds in Keller other View Response than Bear Creek and we are lacking the proper maintenance by the baseball elds. If Keller really wants to do something to imporove these elds must be takin into consideration.
75. MORE CHAIN RESTERAUNTS...... CHILI'S BJ'S View Response
I think the improvements to date have been worth our tax dollars, so keep up the good work. 76. Keller is a small town and I like that it feels that way (even when there is a lot going on here). Let's View Response not lose that small-town-friendly-welcoming vibe.
Let’s get some decent restaurants. We have enough burger and chicken places. We have enough 77. horrible ma and pop places. We usually go to Southlake because they have done the restaurant View Response variety right‼
Not a bad idea to improve the area. But throwing huge amounts of tax dollars at it is kind of like putting lipstick on a pig, in the end, it is still a pig. But seriously, parents will NOT want to visit old town with children. It is just too much of a danger to think that our children will not come into contact with 377.
78. Again, take a look at the turn out you have at events such as Keller Summer Nights. Now, imagine if View Response that event was held at a venue in old town? NO ONE would wan to bring their children!
Many years ago, Keller Town Center had a really great plan. Then, you allowed o ce space to in ltrate what was supposed to be a shopping corridor. City Planning and City Council BLEW IT, ONCE AGAIN. Please get your heads out, and look at the long term, then STICK with the plan. It is pretty simple if you stop with the whimsical BS. Thanks for your time.

Learning from the experience of others can bene t all stakeholders. Do you have any best 86. practices to share? You need to take the time to educate the Public on your plans to spend Tax View Response dollars and how they will bene t the community nancially, not just in amenities. 87. I think you guys are doing a great job, keep up the good work. View Response
88. I would like to see more unique businesses in Keller. No chain restaurants or stores. Unique only View Response please!
More play area than just the huge chess set. Maybe something simple like the AstroTurf hill in 89. alliance town center near Pie Five. Kids love that and it’s nice to have a place to wait while in line at View Response a restaurant.
90. we have lived in the same house in keller since 1984, in all stages of our lives, keller has continued View Response to o er what we need and want, love the Old Town area

I know this isn't on point but I get there on Whitley/Elm from far south Keller.WE NEED THIS STREET WIDENED FIXED IN PLACES. REALLY NARROW IN OLD TOWN {Elm} AND ALSO BEGINNING POT HOLES "HOG WALLERS" ALL ALONG THE 1600 TO 2000 BLOCK OF SOUTH WHITLEY.How do you 92. justify doing more up there when hundreds if not thousands of cars go up and down this street View Response each day!!!!!!!!!!!The road is sinking away to the shoulder in those places!!!!!!!!Been here 25 years busier and busier street. This is part county road at one time, can they cough up $100,000 tax money to help. When there's a wreck on the curve hundreds of cars are channeled by our house or have to turn around...... it's better but still speeders all the time.!!!!!!!!
93. Get more variety of restaurants other than burgers and bbq View Response
94. Keep up the good work View Response
I feel Keller taxpayers should have an ability to express where they want their tax $s spent and not 95. just for old town. If project funding for this project is needed, I suggest the city propose a bond View Response package that gets voted on by Keller's taxpayers and does not just get forced down our throats.
96. Do not waste any tax dollars on public art, landscaping, interactive features. Focus on xing and View Response updating current public amenities and road repair.
Please put some kind of cross walk on 377/Main St. we would also LOVE to see some kind of a play 97. ground the kids could play on while we adults watch them from restaurant like they have at View Response Alliance at Razzoos. I would also love to see more signage stating where stores and restaurants are.
I would really like to see a traditional ramen house open up in Keller. There aren't many authentic 98. ramen options in DFW, the closest examples are Oni Ramen and Hanabi Ramen in Fort Worth. It View Response would be great if we could get an authentic ramen experience in Keller.
99. Park improvements would be a great addition. Be nice to let kids burn o energy before a taking View Response them into a restaurant for a meal.
100. Proud to live in Keller. Good job. View Response

102. I think we need to slow down tra c in old town Keller. We need to make it pedestrian-friendly. View Response Look at Ronoake.
103. Don't waste a lot of money View Response
104. Please balance improvements with the need to keep taxes down. Costs are getting crazy. View Response
105. Please please please bring in some great restaurants! We love Keller and love the idea of taking the View Response trails to old towns Keller for dinner!
Stricter guidelines of what type of businesses we bring in and not 22 of the same type of restaurant 106. would be nice. More outdoor evening options would be nice, but not like loud music that is not fair View Response to neighbors.
107. Connecting the east and west should be top priority View Response
108. Outdoor areas to bring kids, View Response http://10.selectsurvey.net/CityOfKeller/ResultsText.aspx?ItemID=3163&ItemNumber=27&SurveyID=n2LH8n2&Type=Text&ItemTypeID=6 6/24 6/29/2018 SelectSurvey.NET v5
I think you should keep the character of the older buildings in Old Town. It is what gives the area some charm and sets Keller apart from other cities. In order for these improvements to be successful - you absolutely MUST provide a pedestrian bridge (1st choice) or pedestrian tunnel to 109. cross 377. I won't cross without it and neither will anyone else I know. 377 is scary and there is no View Response way this will work without a safe walkway. I absolutely hate to say this - but reducing the speed limit and adding some lights might also help the scariness of 377. But of course this could cause a rush hour nightmare.
110. A shaded outdoor water park not a swimming pool but a park where the playground sprays water View Response and kids can run through sprinklers would be great in the summers.
111. Pedestrian crossings a must for 377/main View Response
Connecting both sides of 377 is key. Slowing down tra c on 377 to provide safe crossing. More 112. public spaces, dining and shopping. Provide space for outdoor concerts, festivals and View Response entertainment.
113. Keep processing forward to improving our Town ‘ View Response
114. the tunnel idea with the fact that we have adult entertainment involving drinking is not a good idea View Response for safety reasons. unless you plan on manning the tunnel for protection ..
115. So excited to see the next phase of improvements, so we can keep it in Keller more often! Y’all are View Response doing a great job and we LOVE living here!!!
Take Keller and create a "Roanoke" style for us. Architecture is all over the place. Nothing in Keller beside the square look cohesive. Build an atmosphere that would cause retailers and restaurants to want to come to Keller. Outside patio areas to have a nice meal/cocktail that doesn't face main. 116. It's minimal at best. We have tons of grocery stores, nail salons, fast food(WAY TOO MUCH) and View Response don't need any more. I have never shopped anywhere but Christy's Corner on 377/main. There is no draw. New phase looks great but nothing to bring me there, sadly
117. Get er done! View Response
118. Keller really needs some night life options other than sports bars. I'd like something classier like a View Response wine bar or a piano bar.
The number one thing I feel Keller is lacking is what Robert Putnam called a "third place" (in his book Bowling Alone). This is a place other than work or home where a person can go, assuming they will run into someone they know. I live in one of the subdivisions in Keller (Idlewood Oaks), and it seems to me that there's no all-purpose public place that I can go to socialize or meet my 119. neighbors. Of course, co eeshops often ll this role, but it would be a dream to have an real View Response functioning Town Square. Is there anything the city can do to facilitate this kind of meeting-place?
As a sidenote--and this might be beyond the scope of Phase II--it would be great if we could expand some of the Old Town feel to the purely-residential subdivisions. They aren't very walkable.
120. Please continue to try to attract outdoor bars/restaurants options View Response
121. Safety and beauty are my priorities View Response
Maybe a public performance-type area for community gatherings and such. 122. View Response As part of the parking question, parking is relatively available at most tomes of the days in general, but does vary depending on the day.
123. You're throwing good money after bad. I think you're wasting our money trying to make a silk View Response purse out of a sow's ear.
124. It would be a great place for art festivals. View Response
125. More restaurants. Quick bites such as lunch salads or sandwiches. View Response

Answers for 24-26 depend on which street you are on. Public art depends on the selections - SHOULD BE LIMITED to art that is a re ection of what "OLD TOWN' presumably represents (Keller's 131. heritage in the part of the town that was our beginning in the last 19th through near mid-20th View Response century). The art selections for the west side are way o base. New construction ought to do the same. Many of us love OLD TOWN because of what it represents and don't want to lose what is left of that image.

Make this an area for families and singles to enjoy. Splash pads, park equipment, fountains, music 135. (live or DJ, lounge singers, etc.) Also, need some options for teenagers teen night with DJ). View Response Numerous restaurant and retail options (high-end through low-end).
Are there any small scale mass transit (shuttle)options, maybe something like the mini train at the FW Botanic Gardens, options for the area in lieu large parking structures in the immediate area? Are there purchasing/land swap options with the church/Lions Club at OTK East to build a parking structure, develop as additional shopping/dining? Because pedestrian tra c in OTK East is secondary to auto tra c (unlike OTK West), are there 136. opportunities for an area elevated walkway? View Response Instead of a tunnel, bridge or improved intersection crossing, is there an option for something like the hover-ring bike roundabout (except for pedestrians) that is sometime seen in other countries to alleviate the issues related to crossing busy streets? For evening tra c, are there any options for monetizing parking spots during certain times, to be designated for speci c improvements for the area? These questions are just food for thought.
NEED MORE SPEED LIMIT SIGNAGE AND SPEED HUMPS ON ELM STREET!! PEOPLE SPEED DOWN 137. THIS STREET EVERYDAY BYPASSING 377 TRAFFIC, IT IS UNSAFE FOR RESIDENTS AND ANY View Response PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC YOU ARE TRYING TO ATTRACT!.
We need to keep Old Town looking OLD. Businesses are for the most part in old houses. We need to feature that and add to the historical aspect of the area. Art should look historical, lighting 138. should be like the green lamp posts in other parts of town. A gazebo, park benches, paths, in Bates View Response Park. A meandering trail connecting streets through the midpoint of each block. Old time entertainments.
I would absolutely LOVE for Old Town Keller to have festivals and special events. Not only would it 139. be wonderful for residents, but it would be great for tourism. As a Keller resident I always go to View Response Southlake and Grapevine festivals and events and have always wanted us to have something similar.
140. Keep developing the Wild Rose Heritage Center and the Train/Textile Museums View Response
141. Need more tra c lanes on 377, and development on side streets (to minimize tra c congestion on View Response 377. Also need to widen Wall-Price to include turn lanes at 377.
#1 recommendation is for an overhead crosswalk bridge. That alone would make us more inclined 142. to visit and spend more time in old town. Currently it is not pedestrian friendly so we get in and get View Response out instead of wandering the streets and popping into di erent shops like we do in Roanoke.

147. Local theater for live performances would be a great alternative to the cinema, as would outdoor View Response facilities for music performances like a lovely gazebo and picnic areas in a park.
148. 377 is the problem View Response
149. Do not spend out money - let the property owners spend their own money if they wanted View Response upgraded.
I don't agree with putting so much emphasis on Old Town Keller. Keller is putting all its eggs into one basket - a very small one at that. The space is too limited to add much there. The tra c is too 150. heavy. The noise from the trains is bad and detracts from really enjoying sitting out on the patios View Response or walking around. Why isn't more focus put on adding restaurants and retail to the Town Center? Or developing the 377 North Corridor?
151. The biggest issues are safe pedestrian crossing on Hwy 377, and adequate parking close to View Response restaurants & entertainment.
152. Thats a big empty building and piece of property on the SE corner of 377 and 1709. I think if this View Response were resolved this could help anchor the rest of the few blocks in ALL directions.
I feel that the pedestrian crossing challenge is the biggest hurdle to making the East and West sections (phase I,II) link together in a single business area. We've seen horrible accidents in North Fort Worth on Beach street by Timber Creek High School with children getting hit by cars traveling above the speed limit. Flashing signs help but are dependent on drivers obeying the pedestrian crossings. 153. View Response I feel that an overhead or underground solution is the only way to truly protect pedestrians and make them feel that Old Town Keller is a truly viable business district for dinning, shopping and entertaining with families and groups. If you compares with Roanoke, Southlake, Grapevine and Alliance Town Center they all have isolated, limited tra c ow with reduced speed limits. Without solving this challenge I think Keller is wasting their time and money on this initiative.
I would like to see nice sitdown restaurants. I do not like driving to trophy club or Roanoke or south like to have nice sitdown restaurants. We need to have some in Keller. I would also like to see trail 154. and bike riding has extended west of phase 1 I’ll be on the wall Mart and down through golden View Response triangle west. By extending the trails west I think you would encourage more people to migrate to old downtown
155. Fewer burger and chicken restaurants. Seafood and Italian we lis be nice! View Response
Keep out retail and restaurant chains! Continue with that which is unique and local. You are never going to be another Southlake so stop trying. Parking is a problem and it will always be as there is no area open to parking. 377 going through Keller is very dangerous! Can’t get on 169. 377 when in town from one of the side streets. 377 is a state Highway and the state I not going to View Response let and that will be expensive.. let’s spend the public money to x the streets, have a better pay scale for police, why. Or develop more along 377 south of Bearcreek on the east side of 377. There is a lot of open land there.
We love nature over public art, if you make the landscaping/nature part beautiful and natural looking, it's wonderful, think Bear Creek Park. It's lovely. Give Old Town Keller an identity; it's the place to go to have a unique experience, not just generic shopping or eating. Make it for families (nightlife can be adult oriented), but make it fun for families and you'll attract a lot of people. Make it fun to walk through, so you don't just drive up to one spot and leave. Allow fun shops to exist there, ones with antiques, or Texas or Keller items, and ice cream shop, maybe a toy shop, etc... Make it have Old Town charm as only an Old Town can. 170. View Response I just recall going into other old towns in di erent cities, and the ones we remember were ones we meandered through enjoying seeing di erent things/shops, stopping to eat, enjoying a treat, making a memory at a pottery painting place we wandered into. It was lovely and it looked old and felt old, it had charm. The landscaping was nice. It was memorable and gave us fond memories.
Thanks for the great work! I love how Keller still feels like a small town. It's why we chose to raise our family here.

I am new to the area- and didn't even know about parking by the railroad tracks until my third visit. 172. I would hate to have to use that parking to go shopping/ dining on the east side of 377. Adding View Response multiple event centers will cause more parking concerns.

As an avid hiker, cyclist and runner I love the idea of having more trails throughout Keller! That (bear creek trails, and loads of parks) and the public safety and service are why we love Keller the most out of any community we’ve lived in. We love taking our daughter to all of the parks and having wide, safe beautiful trails to bike and run on! What we miss the most are the lack of restaurant choices and shopping in Keller. We go out to eat every week and nd it frustrating that 189. we have to drive to Southlake, Roanoke or Alliance for food and experience options. We would View Response much rather do shopping and dining in Keller, where revenues could go back to the community we love so much! Keller is quaint, safe, and utterly spectacular in providing a multitude of grand outdoor spaces where we can engage and promote an active lifestyle for our toddler. It’s invaluable to her life long development and the memories we’ve already made by attending car shows near the pointe, splashing in puddles on the sidewalks and riding our bikes.
190. I would like more retail shopping View Response
191. Main Street Grapevine and Roanoke are GREAT! Southlake, not so much. For the love of all that is View Response good, steer clear of ANY fast food places! A food truck "park" would be ok however.
I apologize I don't have much useful feedback since I am not familiar with Old Town Keller, but I am a new resident to Keller and I love historic downtowns and the energy and charm they provide the city and I have not been impressed with Old Town Keller. I am also a mom of young children and in the few times I have driven by, I have always felt curiosity about what it had to o er, but never wanted to stop and look around because it didn't seem like a place I could easily take my kids 192. around that they would also enjoy. Lastly, we have passes to the Keller Pointe, are active members View Response of our local church and have made lots of friends since moving here but we have never heard of an event in Old Town Keller or been invited by friends to go there, so in the 8 months we've lived here, we've never been. On the other hand, we've been to Southlake Town Square probably 25 times between events and shopping and dining. I hope this is helpful for you. I look forward to seeing what you decide to do!
I would like to see the fronts of the buildings to blend together better. In my hometown, the city awarded a nancial break (cannot recall if it was a tax break or help with construction funds) for 193. each of our old town businesses to remodel the facade of each building so they looked like they all View Response "belonged" there but they weren't matchy, matchy. They made them look "old town" without being run down.
194. i loved the art fest. Having more events would encourage people to come see how nice this area View Response has become.
195. Overall a good idea to improve this area, however we have other parks and roads that need our View Response tax dollars as well.

Old Town Keller was an eyesore when I rst moved here 8 years ago, and coming from the Bee Cave (Hill Country Galleria & town center) area of Austin we were looking for a town with a similar feel Sadly we almost crossed Keller o the list when we drove down 377 and turned east onto http://10.selectsurvey.net/CityOfKeller/ResultsText.aspx?ItemID=3163&ItemNumber=27&SurveyID=n2LH8n2&Type=Text&ItemTypeID=6 11/24 6/29/2018 SelectSurvey.NET v5 feel. Sadly, we almost crossed Keller o the list when we drove down 377 and turned east onto 1709. But then we found the Town Center street and drove into Hidden Lakes and parts of North 203. Keller and we loved it! Thank you for taking the time to update Old Town Keller. We have really View Response enjoyed watching the transformation! I think every city should have a town center or a town square so to speak, where townspeople can meet for dinner and shopping in the evenings/weekends; something that is a symbol of how the town began as well as where it is going; something that we can all be proud to call our hometown.
Parking, Parking and More Parking. Maybe look to Roanoke/Grapevine for ideas and vision because 204. they sure got right. Maybe the city could focus on an area in the city where visitors and families can View Response park and walk without worrying about getting ran over.

I would love to ride my bike with my family from our neighborhood to spend the day at Old Town, by having a nice trail to get there, bike racks to safely store the bikes, then able to walk around the shops and a park or fountain or both, have a gathering area for kids to play. Maybe have more 211. snack or dessert places to have a bite or maybe have a meal at a restaurant. Then ride back home. View Response We need bike and pedestrian crossing underground or above so that we don’t a ect tra c too much. We need more vegan places as this is a growing trend which is good for the environment, healthy for people, and a growing economy.
212. Keep improving View Response
We have friends in Grandbury and have walked their Town center. They have one or two theaters 213. for live entertainment, such as plays and concerts. Some type of venue like this would be View Response welcomed in Old Town Keller.
I think this phase II is a great idea. To bring in more people to this area, Grapevine main street is 214. good example as to what types of shops and dining to bring in. We go to Grapevine quite often, View Response and always take out of town visitors there too. Would love to see Old town Keller like this as well.
I do not know the name of the business, but across the street from Keller Tavern there is this super trashy business. I suppose it is supposed to be an "upcycled" resale shop or something but I am 215. new here and wow does it look so trashy. The merchandise gets left out in the rain, nearly View Response everything is rusty, and it just looks like someone's garage sale left overs and they went nuts with chalk paint. Chalk paint does not make trash classy. Anyway, is there a way you can ask them to clean it up and make it look more respectable?

The city should schedule more events to draw people to the area so that they can see what has 219. been done and appreciate it. More restaurant diversity is needed. Would love to see a good View Response Mexican food restaurant in that area.
220. I think the city planners to the great job on the other side and a huge focus of the revamping View Response should be helping the businesses that are in old town succeed.
Our city is desperate for more date night options - chef driven restaurants (no more tacos, chicken etc), upscale ice cream (please no more self serve froyo), maybe a wine bar or small cafes that stay open with live music. There is an enormous market here with parents who want to get out quickly but don't want to http://10.selectsurvey.net/CityOfKeller/ResultsText.aspx?ItemID=3163&ItemNumber=27&SurveyID=n2LH8n2&Type=Text&ItemTypeID=6 12/24 6/29/2018 SelectSurvey.NET v5 p g q y waste 45-hour of biabysitter time to get to places for a nice adult atmosphere. We have a few, but 221. we need more building up to the east near Rufe Snow or Keller Smith eld. View Response I have also heard on many many occasions that no one can nd decent sushi close by. Even the kids in this area enjoy it but that would be a huge opportunity for take out and date night dine in, if you brought in a quality chef with a nice atmosphere. And if I could choose one restaurant to bring to Keller (that would draw people from Southlake and Roanoke too) it would be True Food Kitchen!! This community is desperate for a dining experience like that.
Suggest OTK be closer to a public outing atmosphere for people to walk around and see, eat, rest, walk dogs, etc. Not a down town congested, business orientated, city dependent place. And for the 222. small business OTK is going to attract, go out of business. I'd rather walk around OTK now and then View Response and see what is new or what is happening compared to having a bunch of business where I need Yelp to tell me what is where. The question to answer is, why would you want to go to OTK?
I love ashing lights at points on the streets where people and bikes cross roadways, i DO NOT like how you put in new and very large housing developments without bike paths, i DO not like Boarland Rd. not having a bike path and Mt. Gilead road not having a bike path. 223. Boarland is getting to be a huge and dangerous tra c jam at times, now just put one bike on it View Response during rush hour and it's a mess. some kids ride bikes to school, they should have a safe path on these busy streets. People walk, run and bike on Mt. Gilead and it's not safe. Saftey should be rst before all you fancy new stu .
224. Please make it a stroll in the park type experience - like Grapevine but with more green space and View Response pathways.
We need a walkway that allows us to go across 377/Main st. That would make the businesses on 225. the east side have much more tra c, which would support them and allow us to shop, eat at more View Response places. Keller HAS to catch up with all the surrounding cities so we all stop going to Roanoke, Southlake and NRH to eat and shop :).
226. I think construction needs to be of a very high quality, but de nitely keep the look and feel of View Response original Old Time Keller, with varying shop fronts/colors/tectures, etc
227. Give are police a pay raise so we can keep good cops. They are leaving because are cities next to View Response use pay better. What in the hell are you people doing up there.
228. Make it more family oriented, more safe, more lighting.... View Response
229. a fountain or sitting area would be nice with a place that serves either co ee or kid-friendly View Response desserts (ice creams)
Keller needs more dining choices and upscale shopping. Southlake has a wonderful town center, laid out very well, lots of dining and shopping choices. Westlake is building Entrada that will have luxury retailers. Roanoke is the unique dining capital of Texas. Alliance has a huge new shopping area as well as the outlet mall. Keller has been left behind in development. Even Watagua has good options. We are surrounded by cities that have so many great options and we have so few. Keller 230. needs to create a similar town center and bring tax dollars back to our city. Also, good choices will View Response alleviate some of the congestion in Southlake and Alliance. I'm not even sure what retailers/dining establishments to suggest. Seems like the most popular ones are already in a neighboring city. Keller city councils have done a poor job of planning and keeping up with other cites. I hope Phase II is better and I really hope the development of 1709 consists of more than huge churches and event centers.
231. This is an opportunity to keep something very unique to the area that is not a bunch of chain View Response restaurants, stores, etc. Give Keller citizens a unique Keller place.
I would just like it to look more cohesive. Quaint, but upscale. Roanoke is a perfect example of a city doing things right. I would de nitely like to see more live music venues. Not a raging Bronson 232. Rock, but more places like Keller Tavern’s back stage area. There are so many talented Texas View Response singer/songwriters and bands. That is the one thing Roanoke needs as well. Lots of places to eat— but nowhere to go afterwards.
I have assumed that the numeral 1 designate the most desirable in the survey. Didn't see where 233. you said one way or the other. I think public art is this part of Old Town should be old fashioned View Response style - family/children groups, settlers, maybe train related.
Please consider giving some priority to additional public parking for businesses on S. elm street 234. and for pedestrian walk ways that lead from Bear Creek Parkway going north on Elm. Sidewalks View Response leading from Bear Creek (especially the grass lot that is used for keller events and over ow) up to the west side of OTK is needed.
I would like to see a public transit option to at least get between Old Town, and the town hall area, 235. Keller point and the Sports park, maybe a loop North Tarrant Pkwy, Ru Snow, 1709 (Keller Pkwy), View Response http://10.selectsurvey.net/CityOfKeller/ResultsText.aspx?ItemID=3163&ItemNumber=27&SurveyID=n2LH8n2&Type=Text&ItemTypeID=6 13/24 6/29/2018 SelectSurvey.NET v5 235. e espo se 377 (Main Street), free or small charge, to reduce tra c congestion in old town. would be nice to access the library and senior center as well.
What about some sort of public transportation. Maybe a trolley car type bus. Especially if there is a 236. concert or theater production scheduled. Using some sort of public transportation would ease the View Response need for more parking.
237. Family friendly restaurants View Response
Like Southlake and Roanoke we need to have unique shops and restaurants that will bring 238. pleasure to the citizens of Keller but also bring in people from other areas. 377 is well known for View Response bikers to travel and we need to make sure that it is friendly to those people as well. They are usually just regular people who like to ride motorcycles not gangs.
239. I think old Town needs to be like downtown Grapevine. Especially for the holidays. Outside seating View Response for eating. Slower speed limit.
240. Strongly support the idea to link Old Town with the Sports Park. These are two great amenities in View Response our city that serve young families and promote Keller throughout the area.
I would like to see a gathering area where small outdoor concerts can be held. I would also like to 241. see the creek used productively. It can be dammed up and made into an attractive pond. Perhaps View Response have a restaurant with a balcony overlooking the pond.
242. We keep putting money into this area and the same issues are still there. 377 is a very busy road; View Response di cult tand dangerous to cross, so it is not the best place for a main Keller area
243. Love that we are getting more boutiques and good restaurants. Not needing to head to Southlake View Response all the time. Love to support local.
244. Improve KYA elds! View Response
245. Rarely shop there due to parking. View Response
246. Rather you spend money on water/sewer/road improvements around Keller View Response
I liked Keller but he way it was. I have enjoyed some of the developments but I do not want see old 247. town Keller destroyed by modern development but I agree with improvements of the existing View Response structures.
248. You’re on the right track. I look forward to seeing Old Town Keller grow as a regular destination for View Response Keller residents and people from surrounding areas
Have a water bubble fountain like the one in sundance square. 249. More lighting to set the mood of the area and signs View Response Outdoor patios with music good place to eat
250. Walk ways between streets on the E side. View Response
251. No much to go there for. Di cult parking. I rarely go there! View Response
252. I prefer local restaurant rather than national chains. Same goes for retail stores. View Response
A park with food trucks and events would be amazing and bring people to the area to check out 253. shops and restaurants. Love that there is some nightlife options and the new boutiques are great. I View Response don’t usually have it as a destination, like downtown grapevine, because of the inability to cross 377 safely on foot.
254. It is hard to know what is one the side streets, not much information or when new shops open View Response
We will never be Southlake or Roanoke so stop trying. Parking will always be a problem. You have a 255. major state Highway going right through the area you are trying to develop into a shopping/dining View Response area.
256. N/A View Response
257. I would like to see any expansion of elds for sports, if possible. A connection between elds to old View Response town would be ideal. http://10.selectsurvey.net/CityOfKeller/ResultsText.aspx?ItemID=3163&ItemNumber=27&SurveyID=n2LH8n2&Type=Text&ItemTypeID=6 14/24 6/29/2018 SelectSurvey.NET v5

the town center su ers at the expense of OTK... and Keller su ers because this city cannot focus on one project. In realty, OTK is a joke because 377 is too busy. I do not understand how or why 261. you think a family would enjoy it... Keller has so much (wasted) potential. NOBODY visits the View Response veterans memorial. OTK is not easily accessible by foot. Should have built out the town center..... (could have had a RIVER WALK)
262. Use minimal town funds for the street/crossing/lighting, then let businesses provide landscaping,, View Response valet parking, etc.
263. A focus on the history of Keller would be wonderful with a nod to the trains and railway that put us View Response on the map.
264. Anything better than tennis courts View Response
265. Be unique, Keller has great history build on it. The blue lights, the train that everyone loves to hate. View Response No other city has that work with it.
266. We need less fast food and more independent restaurants View Response
267. Not sure where people would park if you held a special event there. View Response
Yeah, Keller is behind on its downtown vibe. I live here and totally didn’t get that anything new was back there until I had to take my comforter to the laundromat. There IS no vibe down there. There 268. needs to be shopping, ice cream, live music, walk/bike friendly. This town is almost on point but is View Response just missing the mark when it has insurance sales rather than boutiques and such in the downtown spaces.
please keep upgrading keller, other cities are moving faster than us and we don’t want to be last to 269. complete improvements. Also, be hip and relevant with your business choices. Would love a “rent a View Response bike” program. We have great trails. Go to Chisholm Trail for ideas. Maybe move our farmers market to old town.
I’d like to see more business friendly amenities in the area, especially customer access and or 270. nding businesses from Main Street. And it would be nice to make it easier for businesses to build View Response great facilities in Old Town.
271. More class; don't want a dive bar area. View Response
272. Idk View Response
Interested in the many improvements coming to Keller. Would like to see more restaurant choices 273. as well as entertainment options. Outdoor dining patios would be great. Prefer for my tax dollars View Response to go to Keller when I enjoy and evening out instead of the surrounding cities.
274. Parking needed View Response
275. More food choices! View Response

Make the View Response http://10.selectsurvey.net/CityOfKeller/ResultsText.aspx?ItemID=3163&ItemNumber=27&SurveyID=n2LH8n2&Type=Text&ItemTypeID=6 15/24 6/29/2018 SelectSurvey.NET v5 281. y p g p g View Response antique shop lady take down her chalkboard-twitter feed.

I work on Olive Street and parking is awful. With that school right behind us (I’m at 138) the parents are constantly pulling our limited parking spaces and sitting there waiting for their kids to come 283. out. The student then walk in between our building to get to their parents car... it awful. If anybody View Response wants to come to our business there is nowhere to park. Is there anything that can be done about this?
284. Nothing for now View Response
I think it would be wonderful to have an old fashioned Christmas in Old Town - that has Keller 285. Farmers Market, the Coty of Keller and the Chamber all together so it is big and fun. Why are the View Response events separate? Also a spooky night in old town with the same groups involved :)
286. Do something BIG on the corner where the old View Response Bank is!! Prime Real estate.
287. Tra c lights added to at least one side street if possible. It is a nightmare to pull onto 377 from View Response them.
288. My family and I typically go past Old Town Keller to get to Roanoke. When friends come in to town, View Response we go to Roanoke. I would love to spend more time and money locally.
289. Looks great so far! What about a wood red pizzeria in Old Town?! View Response
290. Keep up the good work and look to neighboring areas such as 7th street in FW as to attracting View Response young families and having fun for all.
291. Please make an e ort to bring in more non-chain restaurants. View Response
I LOVE the idea of a pedestrian bridge; I’ve been hoping for this! I think if it were more safely 292. walkable, Old Town Keller could be a really great place to meander and shop as a family, and with View Response friends. We spend time in Roanoke because it’s safe and easy to navigate; I’d rather spend those dollars in Keller! I am eager for more improvements, and to spend even more time in Old Town!
293. Better connections from Whitley to bear creek rd to old town for pedestrians. Flanagan hill, park View Response vista, chase lakes neighborhoods o Whitley can only access old town by car.
294. Just hope tra c doesn't become a problem for residents. View Response
295. We need another agship restaurant and fun kids store similar to Roanoke - like the candy side View Response fountain
296. Roanoke has outshined us, would like to spend my money in Keller View Response
297. No parking garage! Putting in a parking garage will take away the “old town” charm. Street parking View Response is much better.
298. Bronson Rock needs to go! View Response
299. Safer crosswalks, more cleanup by the train area. View Response
300. Add/Widen additional North/South lanes. On 377 or surrounding roads. Tra c on 377 through View Response Keller in the afternoon is horrible between Johnson Rd and Wall Price.
301. Overall, we need to continue to build the value of the area and increase the niche that this area View Response plays in the community and our visitors.
302. none View Response
303. I love the idea of improvements, but we should preserve the history and small town feel of Old View Response Town Keller
Tra c signals or an easier way to cross 377 via vehicle or pedestrian would be a bene cial focus as 304. well as parking options. I'd also like to continue to see small businesses in Old Town Keller and not View Response see it inundated with chain restaurants and stores. That will keep our small town feel. http://10.selectsurvey.net/CityOfKeller/ResultsText.aspx?ItemID=3163&ItemNumber=27&SurveyID=n2LH8n2&Type=Text&ItemTypeID=6 16/24 6/29/2018 SelectSurvey.NET v5
305. I would like to see more restaurants with nice outdoor seating now that phase I has made that area View Response much more attractive than it was.
Safer pedestrian crossways should be required, more family oriented non-dining options (splash 306. pad connected to restaurant/playground area next to outdoor dining area) similar to the Chess View Response Board, Covered options for outside day activities in the summer
307. music and art fairs View Response
308. Would be great to have a venue that has a large outdoor areas with games, TV's, live music, etc. View Response
I recently moved here from Nashville. Preserving old portions of a thriving city can be done beautifully under a well thought out plan. Take a page from Franklin TN. The city was formed in 1799. It is now home to Nissan and multi shopping and dining venues. The Old Town Franklin is 309. historic and brings in many tourist dollars. View Response Brentwood Tn is just a few miles away. It is quite a bit younger but just revitalized its deteriorating downtown in a more modern vibe. It works as well. Check them out. I hope Keller manages its growth and pays homage to its past as well as these cities. Good luck.

311. Events in OT bring the parking challenges. We have enough parking to support business, but add View Response an event and all bets are o . We need more parking capacity if we add events
312. A tunnel or bridge over 377 would be my 1st priority, then additional parking View Response
313. think historic and keep it to that View Response
314. Additional food options - not chicken or BBQ. Independent restaurants, but even if they have to be View Response a box venue - like Potbelly's or a sushi chain. There are so many out there.
315. A play area for kids with covered picnic tables/pavilions would be amazing. Or a small splashpad View Response like Sundance Square.

319. Take a look at Grapevine and McKinney. They do such a great job of community involvement in View Response their old town areas.
I'm a bit under-quali ed to answer on types of parking sense I really do not experience any of the parking issues. I also don't know how realistic any sort of above or below ground crossing would be since it would most likely have to be ADA compliant. If that's the case, there is no way it can be done a ordable and the slope and grade would would have to be so slight that the ramp would 320. have to start on the west side of the tracks to be able to make it work. Or I would assume it would View Response need two elevators...Again, not very cost e ective. I'm impressed with and proud of the rst phase. Tying in the trails will continue to bring in young families into Keller. Keep up the good work and let's don't bite o more than we can chew. Let's keep things simple.
The look and feel of “Old Town” is important. Sure wish we could get rid of the pawn shop, old 321. crown vic cop look alike junkyard begging car that has NEVER moved, and the Pecan junk/antique View Response store.
322. More high quality restaurants! View Response
323. Public art is ne but "modern art" or the objects on the Bear Creek Trail are an eyesore. View Response
It would be great to have more casual dining areas in the evening for groups. A group of parents wanted to go out last week after a school event. On Saturday. The Local was the only place that 324. could seat us and they were playing their music so loud we couldn’t visit - which was our purpose View Response in going out together. So someplace not blaring music, with good food, a bar and and lots of seating. Bottlecap alley is always packed because that’s the only place that meets those requirements in Keller right now.
325 Whatever we do lets try to not to take away from other places such as Bear Creek Park and the View Response http://10.selectsurvey.net/CityOfKeller/ResultsText.aspx?ItemID=3163&ItemNumber=27&SurveyID=n2LH8n2&Type=Text&ItemTypeID=6 17/24 6/29/2018 SelectSurvey.NET v5 325. y y p View Response sports complex and focus only on Old Town, keep them all up to speed and nice.
All of old town should have been torn down decades ago. It is a total I disgrace to Keller and it’s residences. It is unpopular. The buildings are old and out of date. Most of them would not pass 326. current building standards for business occupancy. Why waste public moneys on something this View Response bad of shape and in my opinion a total disgrace to Keller, future. Only the current old and outdated business owners and building owners want tax payers to save them. Because they have not and are willing to invest in the old town area themselves. Bulldoze it now.
327. Pedestrian Bridges please!! View Response

If you can x the ball elds - and host tournaments on a regular basis - the whole project will be 331. paid for. The Keller ball elds are the WORST in the metroplex. Whoever is in charge of these things View Response needs to be red.
332. Need directories set up on pedestrian walkways. View Response
333. Good luck on making it a place people will want to go. Keeping the area a ordable and family View Response oriented in mind might help with the abundance of families in Keller.
334. Badly need bypass for through tra c View Response
What is Keller known for? What does Keller want to be known for? In my opinion Keller doesn’t 335. have a nitch. Let’s create a theme and be disciplined to stay with it and grow based on it. Example: View Response grapevine has a theme: wine, south lake has a theme, high end shopping. Keller’s theme?
I would rather see nice landscaping with some whimsical art that ts the area. Something too 336. modern and it will no longer be old town. View Response Bridges for cars over the train tracks would be great too. The intersection at 377 and 1709 is horrible, this may help greatly.
337. Try to keep the old fashion old west feel. Do not make it like Southlake Square. View Response
338. We go to Roanoke for dinner a lot. It would be nice to see Keller compete with surrounding View Response communities with restaurant choices.
339. more variety in restaurants View Response

I’d like the bike trail safely connected to old town Keller from both ends of the trail. Id like more girls softball tournaments and a easy and safe way to get to old town with teams and parents from the elds to eat. I like nice shaded areas for kids and parents to sit end enjoy old town. I’d like it to 342. be the place to go for the many families that enjoy softball in keller. A place they enjoy going to and View Response would enjoy coming to Keller to play. Make it a destination for families from the sports elds to go eat and have a place to relax and enjoy. Bring an Andy’s ice cream type place to old town. Texans love to go out for ice cream. My family does and we have to go to grapevine or hurst no keller and we’re keller residents.! Love keller

Roanoke and Southlake have shown us the way with dining and entertainment..... It is time for Keller to step up and provide an environment that will keep patrons 347. from driving to neighboring cities. It doesn’t need to be “artsie” or have it’s own identity di erent View Response from other cities. It is OK to copy what others have done, especially if it has proved to be wildly successful. “If you build it, they will come” - Field of Dreams

Our family loves how the city of Roanoke has developed their streets and unique restaurant area. 351. There is both shopping and restaurants for all ages to enjoy. You also feel very safe walking along View Response the sidewalk. I do not have the same feeling at the moment for the old town Keller area. But I hope that one day it can have a similar feel and inviting environment for families to shop and dine.
Comments above are in reference to Phase I improvements. Pedestrian movement and linkage are 352. critical for east side development. I would love to be able to easily bike to Main Street from View Response anywhere along the 1709 corridor in Keller
First of all, Old Town Keller Phase II has 2 distinct areas - the old houses part and the newer buildings south of the Bear Creek Bridge. This survey seems to be concentrating on the old houses area (see question 7- none of the "services" listed are medical, which is all there is south of the bridge). Which is ok, but maybe those areas should be treated separately - as a business owner I have been frustrated with working with the city regarding signage and visibility from 377, trying to meet criteria for pedestrians that doesn't truly apply to the situation south of the bridge. As for the rest of Old Town Keller, I get frustrated about the vision for the area. What is the vision? 353. A place that people will walk around and loiter and shop? That would be great, but we keep View Response opening up new businesses that don't really promote that. The area is saturated with "destination" businesses - Cleaners, barbers, salons, school, medical professionals, lawyers, other businesses, work out facility, shoe repair. And some of the new businesses - cleaners, and a music school. These businesses are not going to draw people in to just walk around and shop. I do realize that there are some boutiques that have gone in, but it's not like the majority of Old Town Keller is shopping businesses. So what is our vision? what do we really want for the area? And, of course, until there is some way to safely cross 377, the east businesses are totally disconnected from the west.
Stop wasting our money and ruining our town. We need more green space, not less of it - in parks, undeveloped area, and in our own yards! The events do nothing for the people who live here and 354. only crowd the area with others (ex. egg race) - why are our tax dollars wasted on events we View Response cannot even enjoy because the city wants to 'bring in people to spend money'? THIS IS NOT A BUSINESS - IT IS A CITY! You are NOT here to make a pro t!
Do not like underground tunnel areas at all! Places for loitering and dangerous for the safety of 355. kids! Would love more landscapes and play areas for kids and areas to sit and relax with View Response shade!Love Keller and all the improvements!
How about an outside chiminea a spot to sit around a re in comfy chairs. Dining should bring 356. these options in. How about a library, an extension of Keller public. Or bookstore cafes with local View Response karaoke,
357. I’m not sure if the intersection of Whitley and Bear Creek is included in Old Town, but it’s become View Response heavily congested and could use a roundabout.
358. Keep up the good work!! View Response
It would be good to add a bridge crossing over 377 at the Pecan Street intersection, looks like some 359. of the land is available. Also, excavation of Bear Creek to create a pond similar other ponds along View Response the creek would be a nice attraction and would beautify a very visible section of the creek. Keep up the good work.
I think the auto shop at the corner of 377 & Pecan Street is an eyesore to Old Town. That corner could be an anchor and driver for the development of the area. The linear trail system that runs 360. along Bear Creek is unique and should be made accessible & utilized in the plan. No other View Response downtown area, such as Roanoke or Southlake has this amenity. A boutique hotel or a small residential complex would bring people into the area and subsequently restaurants & services.
An old ice cream parlor(1920s or 1950s) that has oats, sundaes, shakes, and has di erent types of 361. baked goods and chocolates. Maybe a Luby's restaurant, a Cajun restaurant, a seafood restaurant View Response that serves sh and chips.

It's great that you're soliciting feedback on Phase II; hopefully you consider 362. this feedback in addition to looking at what other communities are doing with their historical Main View Response Streets.
363. I don't have any suggestions at this time. However, I am interested to see what improvements are View Response done. Maybe then I'll be more inclined to visit old town.
Keep Keller Green, people like to live and visit places that are pretty and have something worth 364. looking at. Need to have more than average green space with all this development. There are big View Response open lots on Chisholm Trail adjacent to Bear Creek Park and a hop from Sports Park. Perhaps can help route more easy route to the shops on the other side of the strip mall.
365. A pedestrian bridge crossing is imperative for success of Old Town. No one wants to have to drive View Response and park from the west side to the east side.
366. Pedi-cabs would be a great way to move in and around Old Town. View Response
I really like what has been done to this point. I think nding a balance of kid friendly locations/events versus adults will be important. We are a family oriented community but parents 367. also want a fun, cool place to hang out when we get a free moment and don't want to have to drive View Response to Southlake to get that. I'm sure you hear it quite a bit more more non-chain restaurants would be huge. Parking can be an issue during busy times on the weekend or in the evenings but I would hope we could nd a resolution outside of building a parking garage. Keep up the great work!
368. Co e shops View Response
369. The completed Phase 1 improvements made a cool, exciting, unique place into a generic, sanitized, View Response boring environment for old people and families with undisciplined kids.
370. The biggest issue is crossing 377 and adequate sidewalks and set backs between the street and View Response walkways
Roanoke, Southlake, Fort Worth, Dallas have all done excellent jobs creating pedestrian sanctuaries, revitalization in downtown Dallas and Fort Worth which are all fun venues to spend 371. the evening at -Magnolia Ave or Deep Elllum. Start looking at your competition for solutions. Stop View Response spending money on art, this is stupid. Let the surroundings, lights, and buildings be the art, not an object.
I think it is important to keep much of the landscape open. It is what makes Keller charming. We 372. don’t want it to completely become a concrete jungle. I think there is a good mix of both parks and View Response commercial businesses as it is. I’m all for updating the existing structures though.
373. Please bury as many powerlines as you can, they are an eyesore View Response
374. Would love to see high-level restaurants that you would see in Dallas (ramen, sushi, donuts). No View Response chain restaurants
Focus on attracting usinque shops & restaurants that are great quality. Not necessarily pricey, but quality. More protective barriers & features along 377 & crossing between east & west portions of old 375. town. It’s ok for old town to have a classic feel but not be bland. For instance nding ways to brand View Response the area more, in a tasteful way. Quality landscaping, quality signage for retailers (some signs look cheap & ina ective in design). Encourage businesses to renovate & improve the outside of their businesses including the buildings themselves, patios, decorative fencing, planters, etc...

380. Please see my response above. The junk store needs to go. Thank you. View Response
The Pecan's signs are a huge turn-o to many visitors. The political and religious messages the owner posts on her outdoor chalkboards don't represent our town in a positive light. Keller is more 381. diverse than people who don't live here realize, and the last thing we need is for people to be View Response discouraged from feeling welcome. Some of her signs were really upsetting during the Presidential election season. http://10.selectsurvey.net/CityOfKeller/ResultsText.aspx?ItemID=3163&ItemNumber=27&SurveyID=n2LH8n2&Type=Text&ItemTypeID=6 20/24 6/29/2018 SelectSurvey.NET v5
I took this survey just to get to this part. There are two things I think would greatly improve vehicular and pedestrian navigation in OTK. Consistent enforcement of the speed limit on 377 between 1709 and Bear Creek Pkwy. should be a priority for the safety of motorists who will be turning in to OTK as well as for pedestrians crossing from one side to the other. To reduce the 382. amount of vehicular congestion on 377 and 1709 moving through this area, I suggest a couple of View Response nice, lighted parking lots be built and a free trolley service be provided from and to these lots. One lot could be around Bates and 377 and another could be up north somewhere that would service people driving in from the north and coming in on 1709. I strongly believe that the parking lot/trolley amenity be seriously considered. Thank you.
I would love more parking options and for it to be more pedestrian friendly. Also, it would be nice if 383. that political chalkboard junk store went away what an eyesore. If thats whats on Mainstreet she is View Response representing Keller. Is that the message we want to be sending.
384. Again, I cannot emphasize enough the issues you are facing with the Pecan store. The o ensive View Response and illegally placed signage on that junk lot make me do my best to avoid the entire area.
Stop searching for ways to spend millions of our hard earned tax dollars like wasting money on 385. artwork and improvements for businesses it's their responsibility and my God don't waste millions View Response on roundabouts. Keller was a better place to live in 1985.
Get rid of The Pecan!!! Please, nobody likes the store, their prices are outrageous, the owner is 386. racist and hostile, and the signs are a huge disturbance. It is an eyesore and the owner is a public View Response nuisance. We have asked politely for the signs to be more friendly or to be removed and she has responded in a manner that created a hostile and combative environment.

There doesn't appear to be adequate space/infrastructure to host special events/entertainment that will bring large crowds at one time. Any attempts at doing this will only cost additional money 388. and would require a complete change in the landscape of "Old Town Keller". I don't know who View Response supports trying to recreate a nightlife vibe here but Keller is a sleepy bedroom community and should remain what it is, not try to be a jealous neighbor and be what it is not.
389. Skip the public art expenditures. Put more cash into safety in street crossing, safe parking, lighted View Response streets, and use landscaping with NATIVE, drought-tolerant plants for public art.
Follow grapevine Main Street model...More shopping and restaurants. Get rid of the business that make the area look crappy like the pawn shop, car repair shop, laundry mat, junk store that claims to be an antique shop (parking lot in front looks like a hoarders back yard) and the shoe repair (with the junky car parked out front)!!! 390. The reason people go to grapevine is because you can park and walk to multiple restaurants, bars, View Response and retail shops. You cannot cross 377 without playing a real life game of frogger dodging the tra c.... Oh, and stop allowing storage units, funeral homes and car repair in prime real estate locations! It would be nice to get a real restaurant instead of all these fast food chains.
Look at grapevine and Southlake. They did it right. I’m embarrassed at how shitty ‘old town’ Keller looks. And I don’t perceive the 2 blocks of restaurants as a proper multi million dollar use of my taxes. The shops on the other side of the street are just plain. Shitty. Nobody walks to this area. 391. Nobody on a fucking bicycle shops OR eats then hops Back on their bicycle and pedals away. The View Response suggestion that bike trails will be bene cial is fucking retarded. my wife and I make 250k a year and spend the majority of our social time in grapevine. I would love to spend more money in Keller. But we seem to cater to poor. Trashy people that drive in from watauga and the other side of the train tracks and crap up both old town Keller as well as 1709.
392. Make it easier and less hazardous to cross 377. Old Town cannot thrive until it’s one town instead View Response of two.
Let the bank go in the bank building on the corner of 1709 and 377! I attended a city council meeting a few weeks ago and a man was asking why his project was held up. What the hell is the 393. mayor and city council doing standing in the way? Encourage more development, more restaurants View Response and shopping. What idiots let the storage facility open on 1709? O er tax incentives to businesses to improve buildings.
394. I love the improvements. Keep up the great work. I live within walking distance and we go all the View Response time.
395. design should not lose its old town charm View Response
396. Grapevine does it well. I think the things we lack most in comparison is we need more downtown View Response (it's easy to miss) and we need events that draw in the surrounding area. http://10.selectsurvey.net/CityOfKeller/ResultsText.aspx?ItemID=3163&ItemNumber=27&SurveyID=n2LH8n2&Type=Text&ItemTypeID=6 21/24 6/29/2018 SelectSurvey.NET v5
397. Although some bars and restaurants have stages for events it would be nice to have one built in for View Response special occasions like 4th of July or Labor day etc.. Sort of like what the city does for Keller Fest.
398. Where's Boaty McBoatyface???? View Response
Connecting the East and West sides of 377 with better signage will allow people to be more 399. comfortable shopping and dinning in Old Town. My family and I will not cross 377 due to the View Response amount of tra c and the lack of a ashing crosswalk.
When selecting a contractor, please have them work with a tight time frame for construction, with 400. damages monetary be access if fall behind on job. Long Contruction time hurt businesses for View Response Phase I.
401. Great improvements, but if we could also make some changes around the city not just in old town View Response this would be important.
402. Less bars. The crowd Bronson Rock and other establishments brought in created to many drunken View Response complaints.
403. Live music on a public stage and food trucks would be a great draw. I currently leave town for such View Response events.
404. Wall murals on the old buildings View Response
More restaurants. No more fast food. Way too many especially considering family tness. It’s amazing how all ratings could beb used more than once. You were actually setting it up to get the answers you wanted. Not fair to respondents. For as long as you have been working on Old Keller 405. Center there is not much to be accounted for considering locations like Southlake and Alliance View Response town center. You are way behind the times. That’s why I shop at those two locations. Nothing is o ered at Keller town square. Need new people on the committee and not someone who is always ghting the general public. Good luck.

410. Thanks for making this town a great place to live ! View Response
The improvements to the west side of 377 are ok. The east side is a hodge podge of businesses 411. that usually don't last. Please, develop a PLAN (think Roanoke!) and quit allowing just anyone to View Response open what they want. Stop all the fast food!! Please don't screw this up like you did on Keller Parkway, like allowing a storage facility on prime property!
412. More quality restaurants and town character View Response
Let's face it - in the evenings, people want to eat outside and listen to music. Promoting restaurants 413. with patio options and live music would be a draw. Maybe have Food Truck Fridays like is done View Response over at Heritage in Ft Worth - there are always tons of families out for that.
414. More parking, landscape and lighting. More dining options would have me going in the direction of View Response Old Town Keller vs. going towards Southlake, which we do 99% of the time :(
415. A large, shaded and protected playscape for children, a botanical garden and more museums View Response would be appreciated.
I like the improvements so far, but the tra c of 377 will probably always keep me from visiting Old 416. Town on a regular basis. I would rather there be some good, somewhat upscale restaurants and View Response nightlife added to the Keller Town Center. F & G's is good but gets a bit old after awhile when there's nothing much like it to choose from. We have had bad experiences at Texas Bleu.
Please share the results of the survey and continue to send updates via email on the progress as 417. each step is achieved. The tra c on 377 threaten the safety of anyone trying to access Old Town, View Response east or west. Would speed ridges in the concrete surface (like along the interstates) alert drivers to lower speeds? http://10.selectsurvey.net/CityOfKeller/ResultsText.aspx?ItemID=3163&ItemNumber=27&SurveyID=n2LH8n2&Type=Text&ItemTypeID=6 22/24 6/29/2018 SelectSurvey.NET v5

420. More high quality restaurants in Keller are needed View Response
I believe when the City of Keller allowed a gas station to be built on the SW corner of 377/1709 & allowed the 3 old homes with quaint businesses to be torn down or removed, it pretty much killed our chance to be anything like Plano's old downtown - angled in parking, quaint shops, pedestrian friendly sidewalks w/o cars ZIPPING BY. I used to love going to "Cat's Whiskers", "The FRont Porch" restaurant for chicken potpie, and "Cinnamon Sticks." When out-of-town visitors came, I always took them there. I NEVER took out-of-town visitors to the Gas Station!! When City of Keller allowed Tom Thumb to dictate how the parking lot would be in FRONT of their store facing 1709, it pretty much killed our idea of having a pedestrian-friendly town square. FYI: Southlake's Town Square was supposed to be OURS! I remember listening to our then Town Development department "good 421. ole' boy" say that our town square would have smaller "mom-and-pop" shops like Radio Shack. View Response Guess what - - I never strolled the sidewalk of our town "square" cause it starts with a Tom Thumb parking lot - - and I never strolled along to window shop at Radio Shack. We were supposed to have a trail system that connected to Southlake's and then connected into Grapevine's CottonBelt Trail. But our Town Manager at that time canceled the trails along side Rufe Snow improvement because - - and I quote - - "You can't keep the trails on the sides of roads CLEAN because car tires can't get over there and blow the trash o ." My jaw dropped. All the former plans done by the Park Board were just ignored as street improvements progressed - Rufe Snow, Johnson Road, etc. And the trail behind the housing development along Shady Grove went "POOF" wen the developer went to council and said he didn't want to give the land for that trail - - but would rather give money. Kids walking to Shady Grove were denied a beautiful safe trail through the neighborhood.
422. Keller could bene t with other things rather than Art. View Response
Our tax dollars need to be spent wisely. There are several sidewalk areas in our neighborhood that are uneven from settling. I have contacted the city three di erent times to bring it to their 423. attention, as it is a hazard. We have a lot of people who walk in our neighborhood including some View Response elderly people who are at risk of tripping. I understand the importance of attracting people into the old town area to spend in Keller. We support Keller businesses whenever we can, but some of the basic services need to have some priority over "nice to have" things like public art.
424. Create more parking and a protected way to cross over to phase I please View Response
425. Skywalk! Need to encourage foot tra c despite being handcu ed by the dreaded train tracks. View Response
426. PLEASE BRING EATZI TO KELLER! It would make a fabulous addition so we nearby residents don't View Response have to drive all the way to Grapevine.
427. Please put in some beautiful and classy public art... Not that weird colored metal Dr. Seuss stu ... View Response
I think it’s total crap to have built this giant parking area for people to park in and most the spots 428. are reserved. It shouldn’t work that way in a downtown area. You go into Dallas, Fort Worth, View Response Southlake Town Sqaure and businesses cannot save parking spots. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE
429. Work on improving the East side of 377. View Response It’s been a long time coming!!!!!

434. I would love to see a petro’s chili and chips restaurant somewhere in Keller :) View Response
I am so proud of the work already done in Old Town and really look forward to the next phase. 435. Pedestrian friendly is what makes a huge di erence between stopping at one venue vs. Spending View Response the day "hopping".

No paid valet! No parking garage! Keep it almost touristy, looking more like Grapevine or Roanoke. Would be nice to consider structures that are o ce on bottom, living quarters on top ( as a therapist in the area I’d LOVE that!). Why no mixed use? Sidewalks on east and west borders so 437. pedestrians don’t walk on busy Elm, etc. de nitely have to solve crosswalk for pedestrians walking View Response across 377. Might be cool to o er something like eco green options in building design and landscaping. What the heck to do with the empty bank building? Have to work on awful ooding on Elm Street and crossroads that occurs with most storms.
438. Having activities for the public in old town keller will bring more people to it. The more people that View Response come, the more businesses will thrive.
439. Keller should keep the community more informed about developments in the area. View Response
More quality resturants and bars and evening entertainment. Area currently not pedestrian friendly - needs some thought put into design so area is also asthetically pleasing. Crossing 377 on 440. foot is currently very dangerous and that needs to be addressed as a priorty above other items. View Response Roanoke has done some wonderful thoughtful development and woukd like to see similar city planning here for old town keller area and area near our Keller town square.
Anything that we can do to increase pedestrian tra c and create places for people to gather, we 441. should do. I know real estate is at a premium, but green spaces where concerts/ lms/etc. can be View Response held can make a huge di erence for a community. We need a place that can serve as the heart of Keller ...
442. Lots of pet friendly options needed View Response
We usually spend our time in Roanoke because it is much more walking friendly after dinner and 443. not congested with tra c like 377. We would be happy to spend more of our money in Keller if View Response some on the designs can help bring more options and movement between the east and west side of 377 in old town Keller.
444. more adult restaurants and a bus going back and forth up and down 377 and keller pkwy for the View Response drunks. lol
445. We need more food choices besides chicken and Tex Mex. more steak houses and seafood. View Response
