A round 515 BC, the province of Pars was the heart of the Persian Empire where Persian Kings received their guests at Persepolis, the cere - monial capital of their majestic empire. Pars was situated 70 km north east of the modern city of Shiraz. People of Shiraz are renowned for their superb art of hospitality.
Today, Pars is name of this authentically decorated restaurant in Manhattan. Majeed Karimi established Pars Grill House & Bar more than eight years ago and has been serving the most delicious and beautifully Persian food you could find in the city.
Pars offers a wide variety of Persian dishes. The exotic dishes served at Pars include various kabobs, stews, aromatic gourmet rice plates, appetiz - ers and luscious desserts and homemade baklava. Persian bread is baked on premises in a clay oven ( tanoor ).
Some of the essential ingredients such as spices, garnishes, dried lime, nuts,saffron and basmati rice are imported from Iran. Pars also uses natural fresh herbs,vegetables and fruits such as pomegranates, raisins, carrots, eggplants, tomatoes, mushrooms, bell peppers, garlic and onions are abun - dantly used in various dishes. Pars also uses halal meat. All ingredients are delicately cooked to achieve a balanced gourmet taste in every dish.
