DIFFERENT MALE & FEMALE VOICES (VOCAL RANGE) MUSIC 2- QUARTER 3- WEEK 2 AIM:
• The students are expected to name the different male and female voices. STARTING POINT: • Let us try to vocalize. • Today, we will study about the vocal range. What is vocal range?
• Vocal range is the range of pitches that a human voice can produce.
• It is used as a defining characteristic for classifying singing voices into voice types. What are the common voice types?
• Voice types are classified into female and male voices. Female Voice Types: 1. Soprano • It is the highest female vocal range. • It is a type of classical female singing voice • Mariah Carey, Celine Dione, Lanie Misalucha are singers with soprano vocal range. 2. Mezzosoprano • It is is a type of voice whose range lies between the soprano and alto voice types. • Sharon Cuneta and Manilyn Reynes are artist with mezzosoprano voice types. 3. Alto • It is the lowest female voice type. • Kathryn Bernardo, Kim Chiu and the like have alto voice type.
Male Voice Types: 1. Tenor • It is the highest male vocal range. • It is a type of classical male singing voice • Pavarotti and Marcelino Pomoy have tenor voice type. 2. Baritone • It is a type of voice whose range lies between the tenor and bass voice types. • Christian Bautista, Michael Buble, Elvis Presley and the like have baritone voice type.
