The poetic theme generator of this new creation is perhaps, by nature, one of the most dynamic and controversial of the four elements: water, here declined in all its variations. Water that flows and transforms; water that is both expansion and depth, secret source of energy and purity but also water that aspires “to exceed the limit, to go against the current, to find the great lake of still waters in which time rests”. Illuminating is the choice of the space concept, here developed on a real catwalk. Not the glitter of a fashion show, but an unadorned road which divides into three periods all the events of this show paced on the rhythm of the dancers walking. In the first period the road is a metaphor of the path that every man, stripping off his heavy clothes, takes to the water source and balm of life. In the second it is the dreamy abyss of memories, and the deep and dark layer of things, to compel one who has set out to commence his journey, to swim, submerge, and dive in search of his intimate wrecks. The last period is that of the surfacing. The street becomes a long corridor of a “humid” House where in every room resurfaces unearthed, carcasses harnessed by water and their raucous sounds, domestic human vibrations come back to life. Just like the stylistic code of the philosopher Bachelard, the drama that will support this show, an original mosaic of quotations, comes from an ancestral and evolved thought of men regarding the element water. The concreteness and the carnality of quotations that run alive on the scene will live with the unconscious and oneiric system of a real film that Fabio Ilacqua, the director of the show "Not Just Fashion" has created with the dancers of the company.
