It is with immense joy and heartfelt pride that the world has come to this, Community Marketing’s “1st Asian Symposium on Gay & Lesbian Tourism!”

Indeed, the “gay & lesbian tourism industry” started to grow exponentially with the first gay market demographic report, released by the Wall Street Journal in 1992, dubbing it the “Dream Market.” Ongoing research at Community Marketing, Inc. (CMI surveyed and analyzed over 100,000 gay and lesbian consumer surveys this past year alone!) has verified and updated gay and lesbian travel preferences and sensitivities. Community Marketing has made it a point to track the buying habits, preferences and trends of travelers in the LGBT community, and to make the results available to our clients. Our aim is to help build awareness of the potential of our market, and recognition for our “niche” industry.

Results in CMI’s 16th Annual LGBT Tourism Report are being compiled from over 10,000 responses to our most recent survey. A summary of key findings derived from CMI’s 2011 study will be presented during the symposium, providing a demographic profile of American gay and lesbian travelers (other national profiles available, too). Participants will receive copies of the full report later this year.
