AIEE ASSOCIATION INTERCOMMUNALE POUR L'EPURATION DES EAUX USEES COSSONAY - PENTHAZ – PENTHALAZ DAILLENS - BETTENS La station d'épuration de l'AIEE, qui collecte les eaux usées de Penthaz, Cossonay, Penthalaz, Daillens et Bettens a été mise en service en 1972. A ce jour la commune de Bettens n'est toujours pas raccordée à la STEP La station est sur la commune de Penthaz. L'AIEE est dirigée par un comité de direction composé de 3 membres et d'un secrétaire comptable. Le conseil intercommunal de l'AIEE, composé de conseillers municipaux et communaux des 4 communes, ratifie les décisions du comité de direction. L'exploitation de la STEP est assurée par un opérateur à plein temps et son remplaçant. Mise en service en 1972 la STEP avait été dimensionnée pour 8'500 habitants, alors que les trois communes fondatrices en comptaient environ 3'800. Durant 43 ans la station, qui fut dans les premières STEP intercommunales du canton, a rempli ses fonctions dans les normes de l’époque. Aujourd’hui avec 9'400 habitants raccordés elle est arrivée en bout de course et elle ne répondait plus aux normes actuelles. En 2008 le comité de direction a commandé une étude pour une nouvelle station d’épuration. La construction a débuté en 2012 et s’est faite en 3 étapes. Durant tous les travaux, l’ancienne STEP a continué de fonctionner. Ainsi la Venoge a toujours été alimentée avec de l’eau épurée Le réseau de conduites intercommunales a une longueur de 15 km pour amener les eaux usées à la STEP. -

Andreassen A dissertation for the degree of Philosophiae Doctor University of Tromsø Department of Language and Linguistics May 2013 ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS Acknowledgements Someone asked me once how I could spend years of my life studying one single vowel. A few times I have asked myself the same question, but I always end up with the same answer: it is small but oh, so complex and fascinating. Despite its smallness, it grows in complexity and importance the more one digs into the topic. The idea of looking at schwa in children’s speech came to me after a meeting with the Phonology Reading Group at the University of Tromsø. When it was time to write a research proposal, I presented the idea – still quite vague – to my supervisor, Professor Chantal Lyche. Throughout my entire PhD, Chantal has been in Oslo, on the opposite side of Norway, or on one of the world’s other continents, and has made a couple of visits to Tromsø each year. However, I cannot think of a supervisor more present and available to her PhD student. Since the very beginning of this project, Chantal has encouraged me to pursue my ideas, she has guided me to discover relationships in my data, she has pushed me to work hard on the tricky parts, and through her expertise in linguistics and her ability to see the common thread, she has made me write – and finish – a thesis where the different components connect. -

C’est une association privée qui regroupe aujourd’hui 44 communes du district du Gros- de-Vaud ainsi qu’une soixantaine de membres privés: entreprises, commerces, associations, particuliers. L’objectif principal de l‘Association de la Région du Gros-de-Vaud est de renforcer l'identité régionale à travers le développement des activités économiques, touristiques, culturelles, sociales et celles liées à l’aménagement du territoire. Elle a également pour objectif de coordonner les actions intercommunales tout en demeurant à l'écoute des entreprises et des habitants du Gros-de-Vaud afin de répondre à leurs besoins. -

Des travaux d’entretien et de rafraîchissement ont été entrepris en 1994 mais ce n’est qu’en 2009 que la municipalité décide de procéder à des transformations complètes. Les établissements scolaires d’Orbe ayant décidé la fermeture des salles de classe, le projet prévoira la création de nouveaux appartements ainsi que le réaménagement de locaux communaux et de Conseil. PROGRAMME Le projet vient ajouter au bâtiment existant un volume d’un niveau venant abriter les nouveaux locaux de la municipalité. Ce volume prolonge le bâtiment au Sud, tout en s’adossant au mur de la fontaine municipale à l’Ouest, et offre un bel espace de terrasse de 68 m2 pour l’appartement de l’étage. L’es- pace ainsi gagné à l’intérieur permet l’aménagement de 4 appartements de 3 pièces aux étages, dont deux en duplex, ainsi que d’un studio de 30 m2 au rez-de-chaussée. Une vaste et belle salle du Conseil est quant à elle aménagée côté rue et profite d’une belle porte cochère d’origine, dont la couverte est en bois. -

S U RVA L N E W S Winter 2021 Celebrating Excellence in Girls' Education for over 55 years www.surval.ch “This term’s success is thanks to a whole School effort, with everyone rising to challenges, showing aspiration, tenacity and compassion in all endeavours. Our girls have appreciated the Surval Experience more than ever” Welcome from The Principal It’s been a very, very positive term – one of the most memorable Winter Terms in my time here, with the best snow conditions ever! And thankfully in Switzerland, we have been able to capitalise on that. I have even seized the opportunity myself to take up skiing – it’s never too late to give new things a whirl. The girls subsequently told me “we’re so proud of you Mrs Woodhouse” - which meant the world! Simple words can mean so much, and the care we show for others defines our Surval family.
