Councillor Marc Brunel-Walker Executive Member for Economic Development and Regeneration
“I am delighted to welcome you and your business to Bracknell Forest. Here, we pride ourselves on being one of the most business friendly environments anywhere in Europe. Bracknell Forest is one of the best business locations in the country, at the heart of the Thames Valley – the UK’s ‘Silicon Valley’. We are proud of our strong digital economy in the borough and can boast world-class companies such as 3M, Dell, Hewlett Packard, Fujitsu, Micron, Panasonic, Vodafone, Netgear and Hitachi. We offer a compelling package for senior executives and a first class quality of life. 20 per cent of the borough comprises woodland or forest and small historic towns and villages include Crowthorne, Sandhurst and Winkfield. A range of modern and traditional housing is available; and with London’s shops and theatres just an hour away, and with Heathrow 30 minutes away, you will be able to combine the best of all worlds. Over the last eight years more than £700 million has been invested into Bracknell Forest by a range of key stakeholders including Bracknell Forest Council, Thames Valley Berkshire LEP, Bracknell Regeneration Partnership, central government, businesses and other close partners. These investments show how partnership working is embedded in Bracknell Forest’s culture. Partners all recognise the importance of strategic investments to provide the best working and living environment for local people and businesses. Examples of these investments include major infrastructure improvements, building new schools, improvements to public spaces and improving current housing provision. The Lexicon, Bracknell’s new shopping and leisure destination opened, in September 2017, with over 1m sqft of Shopping and leisure space with a wider range of places to socialise, supported by over 6,000 parking spaces, a great place for your employees to visit. The Lexicon has been a tremendous success with more than 16 million visits to the new town centre in the first year exceeding original expectations by a million visits. The new town centre has also been nationally recognised by industry experts winning two Revo Gold Awards among other prestigious recognitions over the year. And, since 2006 Bracknell/Reading has consistently ranked highest in the PWC Good Growth Index, alongside Oxford and significantly higher than Cambridge or London, with particular strengths in skills, jobs, health and income. We believe Bracknell Forest is the perfect environment for businesses to thrive. Don’t just take our word for it; ask any of our well established businesses who have made Bracknell Forest their home.”

4 Bob Collis Chair of the Economic and Skill Development Partnership
“As the chair of the Economic and Skills Development Partnership (ESDP), I take great pride in how Bracknell Forest has been able to sustain its economic success and continue to provide the right environment for businesses to grow. Bracknell, along with the rest of the Thames Valley in Berkshire, is one of the most dynamic economies in the UK and hosts many glob- ally and nationally recognised businesses, as well as a substantial number of local companies and SMEs. This success has come from Bracknell Forest’s business-oriented approach to planning and infrastructure provision; creating the right environment for firms, large and small, to grow and prosper. On top of this, Bracknell’s location is ideal for business; having excellent transport infrastructure through close links to the M4, M3 and M40, good rail connections to central London, and good access to Lon- don Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, as well as excellent superfast broadband connections. Most importantly, Bracknell Forest has the awareness and confidence to be able to move with the times. The ESDP has been able to quickly get to grips with new government policies and initiatives aimed at growing the UK’s economy, including the need to increase the UK’s housing stock, to have access to top quality local training, to improve road and rail infrastructure and the proposal to expand Heathrow Airport. In moving forward we have recognised the need to make use of Bracknell’s unique local strengths to make sure we provide the right environment for changing business needs. Bracknell cares about its businesses and the people who live and work in the area. It’s a great location and a great business environment. ”
