Satureja Nepetoides Famiglia LAMIACEAE Quello Della Menta, Numerosi Piatti Di Carne, Pesce E Funghi
AMBIENTE – Originaria delle zone montane del bacino mediterraneo, in Italia è molto comune su tutto il territorio. Cresce nei prati poveri, nei pascoli, nei luoghi erbosi, nelle radure boschive, dal piano a 1500m. CARATTERI BOTANICI FUSTO – La parte aerea del fusto è ascendente (legnosa in basso). La superficie è ricoperta di peli inclinati. I fusti sono alti 30-80 cm. FOGLIE – Le foglie, opposte, sono ovato-ellittiche e crenato- serrate ai margini. FIORI – I fiori hanno una grande corolla bilabiata e sono azzurro- violacei o rosa, riuniti in infiorescenze ascellari. Fioritura: maggio- ottobre FRUTTI - Il frutto è uno schizocarpo composto da 4 nucule glabre e lisce. Le nucule sono provviste di areole di colore marrone. USI - La pianta ha proprietà terapeutiche digestive, diaforetiche, carminative, febbrifughe, stomachiche ed espettoranti. I suoi principi attivi si trovano in oli essenziali, mucillagini e tannini e si consumano sotto forma di infusi o tinture. È usata anche contro la depressione, l'insonnia e i dolori mestruali. Le foglie tritate insaporiscono, con un gradevole aroma simile a Satureja nepetoides Famiglia LAMIACEAE quello della menta, numerosi piatti di carne, pesce e funghi. Vi si può produrre del miele, ma è rarissimo, perché la pianta, anche MENTUCCIA, NEPETELLA se abbastanza comune, non è mai abbondante; comunque è molto bottinata dalle api ed è buona una fonte di nettare e ETIMOLOGIA - L'etimologia del nome Satureja è incerta. Forse polline. In Sicilia entra a far parte dell'aromatizzazione delle olive da tavola. Nel Lazio si usa per la preparazione dei carciofi alla deriva dalla radice latina "satura" che significa "sazia", in riferimento alle supposte proprietà digestive dei succhi delle romana. -

The thesis is financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) within the framework of a Sinergia project. It is directed by Prof. Jason Grant (UniNe) and co-supervised by Dr. Pierre-Emmanuel Du Pasquier (UniNe) and Dr. Beryl Laitung (Université de Bourgogne, UMR Agroécologie, DiJon, France). BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Anthropic pressure may lead to the rapid and sometimes irreversible decline of botanical diversity, or on the contrary, favors the expansion of certain non-native species. In Europe, since the mid-20th century, the intensification and modernization of agricultural practices (mechanization with deep ploughing, use of herbicides, seed sorting, densification of monocultures and systematic use of certified seeds) has had an unprecedented impact on archaeophyte messicole species (crop-related species that were introduced mainly from the Middle East before the year 1500). As messicole species are generally therophytes (annual plants that spend the difficult season in the form of seeds), modernization quickly destroys seed stocks in the soil and contributes to the decline of these populations that were common until the mid-20th century. Although messicolous species are part of the floristic richness of the different countries where they are now native, they seem to have been introduced in the past by man in the form of seed since the domestication of crops from the Neolithic period (11000 to 9000 years ago). -

However, many medicinal plants are difficult to identify when they are sold as roots, powders or bark. DNA barcoding involves using a short, agreed-upon region of a genome as a unique identifier for species– ideally, as a global standard. Research Question: What is the functionality, efficacy and accuracy of the use of barcoding for identifying root material, using medicinal plant roots sold by herbalists in Marrakech, Morocco, as a test dataset. Methodology: In total, 111 root samples were sequenced for four proposed barcode regions rpoC1, psbA-trnH, matK and ITS. Sequences were searched against a tailored reference database of Moroccan medicinal plants and their closest relatives using BLAST and Blastclust, and through inference of RAxML phylograms of the aligned market and reference samples. Principal Findings: Sequencing success was high for rpoC1, psbA-trnH, and ITS, but low for matK. Searches using rpoC1 alone resulted in a number of ambiguous identifications, indicating insufficient DNA variation for accurate species-level identification. Combining rpoC1, psbA-trnH and ITS allowed the majority of the market samples to be identified to genus level. -

The second was a pretty blonde-haired girl that I met at the pool one afternoon and then never saw again. The first was my cousin she would tell me almost every time I saw her. It was a small town and not many people spoke English. She was visiting for two weeks. I was here with my grandfather for twenty-four days. She lived in Munich. I lived in New Jersey. Apparently we were distant cousins. The first time we met was actually at the Jersey Shore but that was years ago. I remember we rode a tandem bicycle across the boardwalk but I hadn’t known that she was my cousin then. The first night we met in Colle Sannita I told Giusy about this. We were drinking beer out in front of Bar Centrale and I told her that I remembered her from the tandem bicycle at the Jersey Shore. She laughed. She had a crown of red hair sitting atop her head and she had brown eyes. She spoke English with an accent that wasn’t quite German and wasn’t quite Italian. We had drinks together. She ordered a Prosecco with Aperol. I ordered one too. Matter of fact she ordered it for me. We smoked cigarettes together with our other cousins and friends. Later that night she told me that she was glad to see me again because we were cousins. -

Variables determining the number of native and alien plants on arable land in Central Europe are identi®ed. Species richness of 698 samples of weed ¯oras recorded in the Czech Republic in plots of a standard size of 100 m2 in 1955±2000 was studied in relation to altitudinally based ¯oristic region, soil type, type of cultivated crop, climatic variables, altitude, year of the record, crop cover and height, and human population density in the region. Vascular plant species were classi®ed into native and alien, the latter divided in archaeophytes, introduced before AD 1500, and neophytes, introduced after this date. The use of minimal adequate models in the analysis of covariance allowed determination of the net effects of mutually correlated environmental variables. Models for particular species groups explained 33±48% of variation in species numbers and 27±51% in propor- tions; however, explanatory variables affected native species, archaeophytes, and neophytes differently. -
