Early diagnosis and complete treatment of TB is the corner- stone of TB prevention and control strategy. India’s National TB Control programme provides quality assured diagnostic and treatment services to all the TB patients including necessary supportive mechanisms for ensuring treatment adherence and completion. The country has a huge private sector and it is growing at enormous pace. Private sector predominates in health care and TB treatment. Extremely large quantities of anti-TB drugs are sold in the private sector. -

DR. KIRIT SOMAIYA: Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state: (a) the total number of district hospitals in the country, State and districtwise; (b) whether the Ministry along with NITI Aayog has started ranking the district hospitals and if so, the details thereof; (c) the details of criteria, parameters, indicators, etc. followed in ranking district hospitals; (d) the timeframe to complete the ranking process of these hospitals; and (e) the manner in which the general public and patients will be benefited by this ranking? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (SHRI JAGAT PRAKASH NADDA) (a) to (e) : A Statement is laid on the Table of the House. STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO.178* FOR 21ST DECEMBER, 2018 (a): Total number of district hospitals in the country, State and district wise is given at Annexure. (b): Ministry of Health and Family Welfare along with the NITI Aayog, has not started the ranking of District Hospitals. (c): A conceptual framework has been developed by NITI Aayog in consultation with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to track performance of District Hospitals. The link of the framework indicating the criteria, parameters, indicators etc. is available on the link at http://niti.gov.in /content/tracking-performance- district-hospitals-health-our-hospitals. (d): The process for ranking of the District Hospitals is to be done on an annual basis. -

SITREP NO-106/2007 1700 hours 32-20/2007-NDM-I Ministry of Home Affairs (Disaster Management Division) Dated, 14TH September, 2007 Subject: SOUTHWEST MONSOON-2007: DAILY FLOOD SITUATION REPORT SUMMARY OF IMPORTANT EVENTS AS ON 14.09.2007 RAINFALL SITUATION IN THE COUNTRY (during last 24 hours) ASSAM Light to Moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall has been reported in some parts of the State during last 24 hours. Widespread heavy rainfall lashed during last week has resulted in an alarming rise of water levels in all major rivers, including Brahmaputra, causing the third wave of flood in the State. River Brahmaputra is continuously flowing above its danger level in Dibrugarh, Neamatighat, Tezpur and Dhubri inundating low lying areas forcing people living in low-lying areas in lower and upper Assam to vacate their houses and move to higher grounds for shelter. Large areas of human habitation and farmlands have been inundated mostly in lower Assam. In Cachar district, about 5,16,586 population in 340 villages are reported to have been affected. In Dibrugarh district, water level of river Brahmaputra is flowing above danger level. In Lakhimpur district, about 2,11,471 population in 196 villages are reported to have been affected. In Barpeta district, about 10,48,149 lakh population in 800 villages are reported to have been affected. So far, 9395 villages in 26 districts with population of 99.13 lakh are reported to have been affected so far in the state. In all, about 820 Relief Camps & 217 relief centres in 15 severely affected districts continue to run in the State in which about 3,58,555 people are accommodated.
