Manchester City’s story began in 1880 when the Connell family of St Mark’s Church in Gorton harnessed the power of football in a bid to unite their community. The Club has continued to develop and grow to become one of the most exciting and innovative clubs in the world today. With four League Championship successes, most recently the Premier League titles in 2012 and 2014, as well as five FA Cup wins in its history, Manchester City continue to work towards future excellence both on and off the field.
In December 2014, the Club opened the new City Football Academy - which lies at the heart of the Etihad Campus and close to the original St Mark’s church - with the intent of securing Manchester City’s future as one of the world’s leading football clubs by investing in the development of young talent. Inspiresport have teamed up with City Football Schools to allow both international and domestic groups to experience what it’s like to train and play like a Manchester City player at this truly inspiring facility. Sessions will be delivered by City coaches following the Club’s coaching philosophy and methodology, to give players a real insight into how the Club develop high quality players and exciting teams.

City Football Academy
The City Football Academy (CFA), Manchester City Football Club’s youth development and first team training centre in the heart of East Manchester, was formally opened by former City manager and the Club’s most decorated captain, Tony Book, in December 2014.
This Grade 1 Academy and elite training facility, located in an 80 acre regenerated brownfield site, adjacent to the Etihad Stadium and forming part of the wider Etihad Campus, is a truly inspirational environment for young players to train and play.
The CFA is home to all of Manchester City’s football teams of both genders and all age groups. Two thirds of the 16.5 pitches on site are dedicated to youth development, supported by high quality, innovative coaching and education facilities, as well as medical and sports science services.
The CFA also accommodates the majority of Manchester based staff in one connected operational base and is a global headquarters for those in the wider City Football family, which now includes sister clubs New York City FC, Melbourne City FC and Yokohama Marinos. It also boasts a 7,000 capacity Academy stadium, the home of Manchester City Women and Manchester City’s EDS side.

Guests can choose from the stylish Verve Grill Restaurant, great pub grub at The Public House and a Starbucks Café serving a wide range of coffees, cakes and light bites. With just a 20-minute drive, guests can enjoy one of Manchester's main shopping hubs, The Trafford Centre. Also, just a short 25-minute drive will take guests to the famous Old Trafford stadium, the home of Manchester United Football Club. The new Metrolink Tram service (which stops just outside of the hotel) is just a 10-minute journey to Manchester city centre.
