Château d’Anglès La Clape - The Grand Cru Island of Languedoc Located on the Shore of the Mediterranean sea (cooler climate, finer ). It is a Nature Conservation Area by French and European laws. They Called Languedoc The Grand Vin Range: The more complex and sophisticated “Grand Vin” red and white wines are France’s Best shortly matured in casks and openly boast a complex character with a firm and delicate structure. Kept Secret 2014 Grand Vin White “I wanted this wine to express the richness of our 45 years-old Grenache structured by our 60 years-old Bourboulenc. I also s elected an exuberant Marsanne and a Roussanne with great aromatic finesse to create this perfumed, long and complex . This is a cuvée I’m very proud of.” - Eric Fabre Varieties: Bourboulenc (40%), Grenache (20%), Roussanne (20%), Marsanne (20%). Vinification: Total de-stemming, slow , juice is gravity-fed into vats, each variety is vinified separately. Cleaned from bad lees twice, fermentation in 1-2 years-old 300 L barrels in a traditional temperature-controlled cellar. Ageing: Stirring on fine lees in barrels during 5-6 months. Natural static clarification by gravity, no fining nor filtrating. Tasting notes: Rich and complex nose, with a blend of white fruits and flowers, fresh and sweet spices and honey, nuts. Plentiful, structured and creamy mouth unveiling a lovely aromatic intensity. Long and fresh elegant finish. Fresh and fruity when young, gaining more complexity after 5-10 years. Can age for 15-20 years.Press: Wine Advocate - 91 Points 2011 Grand Vin Red “We have settled in La Clape for the Mourvèdre: I enjoy its warm spices flavours as well as its dense and thin tannic structure. Grown in the cooler La Clape appellation, delicately vinified and thoroughly nursed, the Grand Vin reveals the elegance of the South.” - Eric Fabre Varieties: Mourvèdre (55%), Syrah (30%), Grenache (10%), Carignan (5%) Vinification: Total de-stemming, juice is gravity-fed into vats, traditional temperature- controlled fermentation. Very long (50 days) with no trituration so as to extract only the finest elements. Ageing: Syrah and Mourvèdre are blended then nursed in 3-4 years-old barrels during 10 months. Grenache is aged in vat to preserve its fruit. Natural stabilisation, static clarification by gravity, no fining nor filtrating. Tasting notes: Complex bouquet with a blend of ripe red and black fruits, spices, licorice and tobacco flavours hilghlighted by the typical minty touch of La Clape. Full-bodied and elegant mouth structured by dense and remarkably silky tannins. Great lengh endowed with a nice freshness. Fresh and fruity when young, gaining more complexity after 5-10 years.
