Because the UK section is so large this month (covers Culdrose, Fairford, Farnborough, Waddington and Yeovilton air shows!) twe have had to cut back the Foreign section by over 50%. The missing countries will appear in the September issue. The fact that we have so many reports to include in the standard issue size of 64 pages is very good news - please keep all the reports coming in! Remember, if you are visiting a show (both in the UK and overseas) can you please send in a report as coverage can be sporadic! If you are sending in a report please send in as much information as possible - eg serial, code, type, unit, special markings, location at the show and any other information that is possible. As the European spotting fraternity makes its annual pilgrimage to the USA in September and October, please remember to send in your reports from wherever you visit - airshows, base visits and, even, the odd military aircraft seen at civil airports and airfields from your travels. Also, please keep sending in the photo coverage from your travels - these are very welcome and allow us to increase the size of the PDF version of MAR with extra photo pages each month!. COVER PHOTOGRAPH: Specially decorated Turkish AF 141 Filo F-16C 91-0011 displays at the RIAT Air Show at Fairford on July 12th (Rod Burden) Closing date for the September issue is 08.09.14 Brian Pickering 13.08.14 414 BRITISH REVIEW I start this month with the news that 203(R) Sqn will disband on 14th September 2014, this will end sixteen years of duties as the Sea King Operational Conversion Unit at RAF Valley. 22 Sqn are due to disband during mid 2015. Another disbandment is 654 Sqn based at Wattisham on Apache AH.1 during a parade on 08th July, this is part of the Army 2020 reforms which has seen 4 Regt reduced to just two Squadrons. 654 Sqn formed in 1942 in North Africa and Italy and has since operating the Apache AH.1 since 2007, during which the Sqn has deployed to Afghanistan four times. No.702 Naval Air Squadron at Yeovilton stood down on 01st August and the will join up with 700W NAS on the 01st September operating the Wildcat HMA.2. The newly reformed Squadron will be called 825NAS and based at Yeovilton. 815NAS Yeovilton will receive their first Wildcat HMA.2 in late 2015 but will continue to operate the Lynx HMA.8SRU until it’s out of service date of 31st March 2017. It has also been announced that the Sea King ASaC.7 will continue to operate until the summer of 2018…...Mick Boulanger (Military movements is history, now and for our future) ALDERGROVE -Residents notes: 665 Sqn Gazelle AH.1 XW847 departed from 665 Sqn Aldergrove on 01.08 as “AAC565” for servicing with MPSU Middle Wallop ZB674 has arrived from MPSU Middle Wallop on 01.08 as “AAC565” following servicing RAF BENSON - Residents noted during July: 28/78 Sqn Merlin HC.3/3A ZJ119/C ZJ120/D ZJ121/E ZJ122/F ZJ133/R ZJ134/S ZJ135/T ZJ136/U ZJ137/W ZJ990/AA ZJ992/AB ZJ995/AD ZJ998/AE ZK001/AF 33/230 Sqn Puma HC.2 XW204 XW214 ZA936 ZA939 ZJ954 ZJ955/P ZJ957 P2MF Puma HC.2 XW209 XW216 XW219 XW235 XW237 ZA935 Residents notes during July 28/78 Sqn Merlin HC.3/3A ZJ118/B has transferred from 28/78 Sqn Benson to MDMF Culdrose ZJ121/E has departed to MDMF Culdrose on 01.08 as “VTX754” ZJ126/K has arrived from MDMF Culdrose on 01.08 as “VTX754” 33/230 Sqn Puma HC.2 XW213 has returned from Airbus Helicopters, Brasov, Romania to 33/230 Sqn Benson XW219 has returned from Airbus Helicopters, Brasov, Romania to 33/230 Sqn Benson XW299 has departed from on 29.06 for attention at Airbus Helicopters, Kidlington Others; Three Puma HC.1s previously stored as withdrawn from use at Benson have found new homes. Jane and I did get away for some of the bad weather. We spent mid-March to mid-April traveling down south, Memphis to see Pete Wasmund, Texas to visit the Stott’s and Florida to visit the Oulman’s and Davis’s. Also, three weeks in Pompano Beach playing golf. Not quite a pity party. The 2019 Reunion has been delayed one day due to allowing folks to attend the Easter Holiday with family and friends. If you have already made your advance reservations, contact the Clarion Hotel and update your reservation. The Clarion phone number is 800-725-2236 or 417-334-7666. The revised Reunion dates are April 23rd thru 28th. We’re sorry for the confusion, Sally and I discussed the change and thought this was the best way to proceed. Sally has put together a great reunion with very good hotel rates, so please forgive the confusion and plan on a wonderful time in Branson. I received an email from an old friend I served with in VW-11 Newfoundland about the Willy Victor Reunion at Willow Run Airport, Ypsilanti, Mich.

Moray has had a few reports from the USA but he is hoping for more to go into the US Section in December, so please get your reports in! Subscriptions are coming in at a steady pace - but please try and get them in before the Christmas break as I have a lot to do at the end of December/beginning of January and coping with hundreds of subcsriptions makes life more difficult for me.

  • Initial Results of the Agreement Between Sea and the Lombardy Region for the Schools Project
INITIAL RESULTS OF THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN SEA AND THE LOMBARDY REGION FOR THE SCHOOLS PROJECT 4 projects for secondary school students in the Lombardy region who participated in one of the initiatives promoted by SEA Malpensa, 17 January 2011 – Just over six months from the signing of the statement of intent for the integration of Malpensa and Linate in the local training program, signed by Giuseppe Bonomi, Chairman of Sea Aeroporti di Milano, and Giuseppe Colosio, Head of the School Office for the Lombardy Region, the first concrete results are now apparent: a series of actions involving students from the various schools participating. This in confirmation of SEA’s commitment to the territory and its efforts to contribute to the creation of skilled professionals to fill the local employment needs. And that’s not all: sports is also an important part of young people’s development. The objective of the agreement is to facilitate interaction between the airport and the surrounding area, in a context of development that is not limited to just economic factors, but also includes social, cultural and developmental aspects. In terms of the statement of intent, the reform of technical/vocational high schools has introduced a specialization in transport and logistics, which permitted an innovative initiative that translated into a concrete collaborative relationship between the Milano Malpensa, Milano Linate and Bergamo Orio al Serio airport structures and three Lombard secondary schools with specialized aeronautics programs: Istituto Statale Istruzione Superiore “Andrea Ponti”, in Gallarate (VA) Istituto Istruzione Secondaria Superiore “James Clerk Maxwell”, in Milan Istituto Aeronautico “Antonio Locatelli”, in Bergamo.
