COUNTY COUNCIL (EAST AND WEST ) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 20**

The Oxfordshire County Council, in exercise of its powers under Sections 82(2), 83(2) & 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to that Act, hereby make the following Order.

1. This Order may be cited as the Oxfordshire County Council (East and West Hanney) (Speed Limits) Order 20** and shall come into force on the day of 20**.

2. The roads specified in Schedule 1 to this Order shall be restricted roads for the purposes of section 81 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

3. No person shall drive any vehicle at a speed in excess of 30 miles per hour in any of the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this order.

4. No person shall drive any vehicle at a speed in excess of 50 miles per hour in any of the lengths of road specified in Schedule 2 to this order.

5. No speed limit imposed by this Order applies to a vehicle falling within Regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011, being a vehicle used for naval, military or air force purposes, when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those regulations.

6. The Oxfordshire County Council (Restricted Roads, East and West Hanney ) Order 2000, and the Oxfordshire County Council ( to Steventon Road) (50 Miles Per Hour Speed Limit) Order 2011 are hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE 1

Restricted roads in the of East Hanney

The whole length of every road in the village of East Hanney, to the west of and including the A338 Oxford- road, extending (in the case of the respective roads leading out of the said village) to the following points:

a) A338 Oxford-Wantage road a point 155 metres north of its junction with (northern end) Ashfields Lane.

b) A338 Oxford-Wantage road a point 80 metres southwest of its junction (southern end) with Summertown.

c) The Causeway its junction with School Road, West Hanney

d) Steventon Road to a point of 580 metres east of the A338

Roads in the Parish of West Hanney The whole length of every road in the village of West Hanney extending (in the case of the respective roads leading out of the said village) to the following points:

a) Main Street a point 90 metres west of its junction with The Meads.

b) School Road its junction with The Causeway, East Hanney.

c) Winter Lane a point 255 metres north of its junction with Rectory Farm Close.
